As of September 29, 2026, the official Japanese card database lists the cards as 046/081 RR, 099/081 SR, 114/081 SAR and 118/081 MUR, and it lists no Mega Darkrai ex in any promo, deck or other expansion. The official M5 product page gives the release date, May 22, 2026.

The M5 product page on pokemon-card.com gives the release date, the pack price and the pack size. It does not state packs per box or a total card count. The official card database supplies the number, rarity icon and illustrator of each card.

The official database lists メガダークライex as number 118/081, rarity MUR, illustrated by 5ban Graphics. It is the last number in the set. The card is a Basic with 280 HP. The ナイトレイド attack does 110 damage plus 110 more if your Benched Pokémon have damage counters, and the アビスアイ attack Knocks Out the opponent’s Active Pokémon if it is affected by a Special Condition. As a Mega Evolution ex, it gives the opponent 3 Prize cards when Knocked Out.

The SR is illustrated by 5ban Graphics, the same illustrator the database credits for the RR and the MUR. SNKRDUNK shows 62 listings for it across conditions, with a raw lowest ask of ¥1,000 (~$6), the display floor, in both any condition and A-grade. Its PSA 10 lowest ask is ¥5,900 (~$38), from a deep PSA 10 book of 15 or more entries. That is the lowest PSA 10 ask among the prints that have one. It is not listed in our store.
Mega Darkrai ex RR 046/081
The RR carries number 046, inside the printed /081 range. It is also illustrated by 5ban Graphics. SNKRDUNK shows 27 listings, a raw lowest ask of ¥1,000 (~$6), the display floor, and no PSA 10 ask at all. There is no figure to quote beyond that, and we do not list the card.

English Pitch Black Prints of Mega Darkrai ex
Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Pitch Black is the English set that features Mega Darkrai ex. The official pages give the release date, July 17, 2026, announced on pokemon.com on April 30, 2026, and describe the set as “over 115 cards.” The July 3, 2026 product showcase on pokemon.com mentions “a jaw-dropping Mega Hyper Rare card featuring Mega Darkrai ex.”
No official page states that Pitch Black is the English version of Abyss Eye. The card-by-card matches below are from Limitless’s Japanese and English card lists (September 2, 2026).

The gold cards differ. The Japanese MUR carries an engraved Darkrai emblem, while the English Mega Hyper Rare shows a flat Darkrai silhouette, so the two are not the same finish even though both are the top card of their set. The English set has 120 cards per Limitless (84 printed and 36 secret rares), against the 118 database entries of M5. The English Double Rare number that matches the Japanese RR 046 is not verified.
What TCGplayer Reported for English Packs
TCGplayer published Pitch Black pull rates on July 21, 2026, based on more than 4,000 English booster packs opened at the TCGplayer Authentication Center. The figures are TCGplayer’s counts of English packs. They do not describe Japanese packs, and the official pages give no Japanese M5 odds. No named outlet report of Japanese M5 rates was found as of September 29, 2026.

Checking a Copy Before You Buy
Three details separate the Japanese prints from each other and from the English cards.
- Denominator: Japanese M5 cards print /081. English Pitch Black cards print /084 on the numbered cards, and secret rares carry numbers above it.
- Number: 046 falls inside the numbered range. 099, 114 and 118 are secret numbers, above 081.
- Rarity code: the code printed on the card is RR, SR, SAR or MUR for the four Japanese prints.
For graded cards, the label should show the same card number and set. Our PSA 10 listings name the card, rarity, number and set in the product title, for example PSA10 MEGA Darkrai ex MUR [M5 118/081].
