Pokemon Mega Moonlit Tin: Gengar, Clefable Promos vs Japanese Prints

What Is Inside the Mega Moonlit Tin

The official page is titled Pokemon TCG: Mega Moonlit Tin and lists the launch as June 05, 2026. Its description reads: “A moonlit night makes the perfect stage for Mega Evolution Pokemon ex to come out and play! With this tin, you can choose the menacing grin of Mega Gengar ex or the whimsical wings of Mega Clefable ex, and then find even more Pokemon inside a handful of booster packs.” The page adds that the tin is available in the Pokemon Center and where Pokemon TCG products are sold.

The two rows marked “Not printed” matter for anyone comparing the tin with a Japanese box. The official page gives neither a price nor the expansions behind the four packs, so neither is confirmed. Bulbapedia’s merchandise page says the tins held “a selection of 4 booster packs (typically two Perfect Order and two Chaos Rising)”; that wording is Bulbapedia’s, not the official page’s.

A Japanese booster box is a different kind of product: a sealed box of random packs from one expansion, where the tin is a small container with one chosen promo and four packs. The table sets out what each official page prints.

The Japanese pages state that cards are inserted at random, so a box does not list which cards a given pack holds. Our guide to Japanese versus English Pokemon cards covers the wider differences in print and packaging between the two markets.

Mega Clefable ex: The Tin Promo and the Japanese Nihil Zero Prints

As of October 1, 2026, the official Pokemon Card Game database lists three cards named メガピクシーex, all in Nihil Zero (M3): RR 030/080, SR 096/080 and SAR 112/080. The official Nihil Zero page prices a 5-card pack at ¥180 and gives the release as January 23, 2026. Bulbapedia’s card page for Mega Clefable ex states that the card was “first released in the Japanese Nihil Zero expansion” before its Perfect Order print.

The illustrator credit on the tin promo is the same as the credit on the Japanese RR and SR. The credit is all that is stated: Bulbapedia’s card page says a “print of the Regular card with alternate artwork by aky CG Works was available as one of the MEP Black Star Promos in the Mega Moonlit Tins.” Read together, the sources say the promo and the Japanese RR share an illustrator, and Bulbapedia says the promo’s artwork is an alternate one.

Mega Clefable ex RR 030/080

The RR is the regular print, numbered inside the 80-card main-set range. The database shows a Stage 1 Psychic Pokemon with 320 HP, Weakness Steel ×2 and a retreat cost of 1. The Ability ひかりのつばさ says the Pokemon receives no Ability effects from the opponent’s Pokemon. The attack シューティングムーン costs two Psychic Energy and does 120+ damage; the text lets you discard up to 4 Energy from your hand for 40 more damage per card discarded.

Mega Clefable ex SR 096/080

The SR carries a number above the printed set size of 080 and the same card text as the RR. The database credits aky CG Works, the same credit as the RR and the tin promo.

Mega Clefable ex SAR 112/080

The SAR is credited to Cona Nitanda, a different illustrator from the tin promo. Bulbapedia’s card page lists the Perfect Order special illustration rare print with the same Cona Nitanda credit. For a collector who wants the tin promo’s credit, the RR and SR are the Japanese prints that carry it; for a different artist, the SAR is the Japanese print.

English Prints of the Same Two Cards

Limitless TCG lists English prints of both cards outside the tin, and its credits pair with the Japanese ones as shown. A pairing here means the same illustrator credit, which is all the sources state.

Limitless labels M2a 230 as a Secret Rare, while the official database icon is MA. The official pokemon.com pages give Perfect Order a release of March 27, 2026 and Ascended Heroes a release of January 30, 2026. Bulbapedia’s list of Japanese expansions (as of September 15, 2026) matches Nihil Zero to Perfect Order at set level, and its Ascended Heroes page says the English set “includes cards from the Japanese MEGA Dream ex subset”. The tin’s promos are not part of any of these English sets: Limitless files them under Mega Promos.

Dated SNKRDUNK Asking Prices for the Japanese Prints

These are the lowest asking prices on SNKRDUNK on October 1, 2026 for the Japanese prints. They are asks, not sold prices. SNKRDUNK shows ¥1,000 as its display floor, so a ¥1,000 figure is that floor and not a quoted ask. No dated marketplace figure for the tin or for the two MEP promos is available.

The two lowest Mega Clefable ex prints and the MBG regular print show SNKRDUNK’s display floor.

PSA 10 Listings for the Japanese Prints

PSA 10 designates Gem Mint condition per PSA’s published grading standards. Our PSA 10 listings for the Japanese prints, each with its dated SNKRDUNK ask: The back-order rows are offered as PSA 10 back orders — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms. How the route works is in our PSA 10 back orders guide.

M3 030/080 and M3 096/080 have no PSA 10 listing; sourcing requests for those numbers go through Quick Order.
