Raikou PSA 10 Japanese Pokemon Cards Ranked by Our Back-Order Price

Raikou PSA 10 Japanese Pokemon Cards Ranked by Our Back-Order Price

This is the Raikou PSA 10 price ranking for the Japanese ライコウ cards we offer as back orders, dated as of October 29, 2026. Three listings qualify, and they come from three very different corners of the card game: a 1st Edition e-Series card from the Card e Reader era, a 1st Edition Dark Rush Raikou EX from the BW4 expansion, and a V SAR from the High Class Pack “VSTAR Universe.” Everything on this page is our own listing data; none of it is a market quote.

All three are PSA 10 back orders, which means a graded copy is sourced to order rather than sitting on a shelf. That changes how you shop: you are not comparing photographed slabs, you are comparing card identities, set stamps and a posted price. The sections below rank the three, explain what each listing name actually says, and mark what the listing name does not tell you.

Key Takeaways
  • As of October 29, 2026 the ranking runs e4 039/088 1st Edition at ¥264,600 (~$1,718), then BW4 071/069 1st Edition, then S12a 218/172 at ¥18,574 (~$121).
  • All three are offered as PSA 10 back orders — sourced to order; each product page shows the current terms.
  • The ranking is by our listed price only. It says nothing about market value, grading population or future price moves.
  • The two older cards (e4 and BW4) carry a “1ED” (1st Edition) marker in the listing name; the V SAR does not.

The Ranking: Three Raikou PSA 10 Back Orders by Price

The table orders our three Raikou PSA 10 back orders from the highest listed price to the lowest, as of October 29, 2026. Each price is a link to the product page, which shows the current terms. Dollar figures convert at ¥154 per USD.

Rank Listing name Set (as our listing names it) Back-order price
1 PSA10 Raikou :1ED [e4 039/088] Expansion Pack Vol.4 “Split Earth” ¥264,600 (~$1,718)
2 PSA10 Raikou EX SR :1ED [BW4 071/069] Expansion Pack “Dark Rush” ¥148,720 (~$966)
3 PSA10 Raikou V SAR [s12a 218/172] High Class Pack “VSTAR Universe” ¥18,574 (~$121)

Each of the three is offered as a PSA 10 back order — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms. Nothing in this ranking implies that a graded copy is already on hand, and the order of the list can change whenever a listing changes.

One structural point is worth stating before the details. The ranking is a ranking of listings, not of cards. A second Raikou card could be added to the list tomorrow, or one of these three could be withdrawn, and the numbering above would shift. Where this article says “No. 1,” it means “first on our list on October 29, 2026,” nothing more.

How to Read These Listing Names

A listing name packs a lot into one line. Taking the first one apart shows the pattern: PSA10 is the grade, Raikou is the card, :1ED marks a 1st Edition print, [e4 039/088] is the set code and card number, and the text in brackets is the set name as we write it.

Part of the name What it tells you What it does not tell you
PSA10 The slab grade of the copy offered Which individual copy will be sourced
1ED A 1st Edition print (e4 and BW4 listings) The size of the print run
SR / SAR The rarity letters as our listing names them Anything the official card database prints — it does not show rarity letters
e4, BW4, s12a The set code The release month of the set by itself
039/088, 071/069, 218/172 The card number over the set count Illustrator or card text (not stated for the e4 and BW4 071/069 listings; the official database page covers the S12a 218/172 and the base BW4 025/069)

A useful rule of thumb: when the first number is larger than the second, as in 071/069 and 218/172, the card is numbered above the printed set count. Our listing names add a rarity letter to those two cards (SR and SAR) and not to the e4 card. The official Japanese card database does not print rarity letters, so we quote them once, “as our listing names it,” and do not build claims on them.

No. 1: Raikou 1st Edition e4 039/088 (Split Earth)

PSA 10 Raikou 1st Edition e4 039/088 Expansion Pack Vol.4 Split Earth
PSA 10 Raikou 1st Edition, e4 039/088, Expansion Pack Vol.4 “Split Earth” (our listing photo)

The top of the ranking is Raikou 1st Edition [e4 039/088], offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥264,600 (~$1,718) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms.

The e4 code places the card in the e-Series, the run of five sets (e1 to e5) that carry the dot-code strips read by the Card e Reader. Our e-Series guide records that the Card e Reader launched in Japan on Saturday, December 1, 2001, with e1 released the same day, and that e-Series cards are generally not old-back cards. If the era is new to you, the e-Series guide explains the format in full.

What our sources do not state is just as important. The illustrator, rarity and card text of the e4 Raikou are not stated in our sources. The official Japanese card database, which starts at the Diamond & Pearl era, does not hold e-Series cards, so there is no official database page to point to for this print. Our Raikou 162/103 guide describes it only as an older e-Series 1st Edition print, and that is as far as this article goes too.

For a buyer, the practical meaning of the “1ED” marker is that the listing is for the 1st Edition version of the card. Check the stamp on the product page photos against the listing name before you decide.

No. 2: Raikou EX 1st Edition BW4 071/069 (Dark Rush)

PSA 10 Raikou EX SR 1st Edition BW4 071/069 Dark Rush
PSA 10 Raikou EX SR 1st Edition, BW4 071/069, Expansion Pack “Dark Rush” (our listing photo)

Second on the list is Raikou EX SR 1st Edition [BW4 071/069], offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥148,720 (~$966) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms. The “SR” is the rarity letter as our listing names it.

Dark Rush is the BW4 expansion. Our Entei guide dates the set’s Entei EX print to Friday, December 16, 2011, and the Raikou EX belongs to the same expansion. The numbering tells you the 071/069 print sits above the set’s printed count of 069, so it is a secret-numbered card, not the regular Raikou EX of the set.

The regular print is in the official database. It is Raikou EX, BW4-B 025/069, illustrated by shizurow, with HP 170.

Raikou EX BW4-B 025/069 Dark Rush illustrated by shizurow
Raikou EX, BW4-B 025/069, Dark Rush, illustrator shizurow (official card database image)

The official text, rendered in English (rendering): a Basic Pokémon with two attacks. “Thunder Fang” does 30 and, on a coin flip of heads, Paralyzes the opponent’s Active Pokémon. “Voltage Arrow” discards all Energy attached to Raikou EX and does 100 damage to one of the opponent’s Pokémon, with no weakness or resistance applied to Bench damage. The special rule printed on this card gives the opponent two Prize cards when it is Knocked Out.

Whether the 071/069 print shares that artwork is not something our sources state, so we do not say. The official database page for the regular print is the reference for text and illustrator; the 071/069 listing photo is the reference for the secret-numbered card itself.

No. 3: Raikou V SAR s12a 218/172 (VSTAR Universe)

PSA 10 Raikou V SAR s12a 218/172 VSTAR Universe
PSA 10 Raikou V SAR, s12a 218/172, High Class Pack “VSTAR Universe” (our listing photo)

Third is Raikou V SAR [s12a 218/172], offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥18,574 (~$121) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms. The “SAR” is the rarity letter as our listing names it.

This is the only one of the three whose exact number has an official database page. The official Japanese card database lists Raikou V, S12a 218/172, illustrated by nagimiso, with HP 200. S12a is VSTAR Universe, released on Friday, December 2, 2022. The database also lists the regular Raikou V S12a 038/172 illustrated by PLANETA Mochizuki, so the same Pokémon appears in the set twice, once as the standard V and once as the secret-numbered art print.

The official text, rendered in English (rendering): a Basic Pokémon V with the Ability “Instant Speed,” usable once during your turn while it is in the Active Spot, which lets you draw a card. Its attack “Lightning Rondo” does 20 plus 20 more for each Benched Pokémon on both sides. The V rule box gives the opponent two Prize cards when it is Knocked Out. The same text is on both S12a prints.

Raikou ex Prints in Sealed Storm Emeralda

If the three graded listings above are not what you are after, the Raikou ex cards in the official database come from M6 Storm Emeralda: Raikou ex, M6 024/076 (aky CG Works, HP 200), the secret-numbered 092/076 (aky CG Works) and the secret-numbered 108/076 (Oku). All three carry HP 200. The M6 set was released on Friday, July 31, 2026.

None of those three has a PSA 10 listing in our shop. A sealed booster box is the way into the set, and our M6 card list page shows the full set. A box is a box, though: what comes out of it is not something we can state, and this article does not give odds.

The ranking above is about graded singles; this box is a different kind of purchase. We mention it because the Raikou ex cards are in this set and the box is listed as sealed stock, with the Sealed and No Shrink variations priced separately.

What a Price Ranking Does Not Tell You

A ranked list invites a conclusion that the numbers do not support, so it helps to state the limits plainly.

Question Answered by this ranking? Where to look
What do we list each PSA 10 back order at, as of October 29, 2026? Yes The table above and each product page
What is the card worth on the open market? No Not covered by this article
Which card is the better choice for you? No Depends on era, art and budget — see the next section
How will these listings change? No Not stated; the product page shows the current terms
Who illustrated the e4 card? No Not stated in our sources
Card text of the regular BW4 and S12a prints Yes, in rendering The official database card pages

Plain arithmetic is the only calculation we will make on these figures: three listings, three prices, and a ranking that follows from the order of the yen amounts. We do not turn the gaps between them into multiples or percentages, because a gap between two listing prices says nothing about why a card is listed where it is.

The same caution applies to the word “1ED.” It identifies the print as 1st Edition. It does not rank that print against anything else, and it does not explain the price on its own.

Which Listing Fits Which Goal

Rather than telling you which card to pick, here is how each listing lines up with a collecting goal.

  • You collect the e-Series or the Card e Reader era. The e4 039/088 1st Edition listing is the only card from that format on this list. Read the e-Series guide first so you know what the format is.
  • You collect Pokémon EX cards, or 1st Edition prints in general. The BW4 071/069 listing is a secret-numbered Raikou EX from Dark Rush; the regular print in the official database is 025/069 by shizurow.
  • You want a modern art print with documented illustration credit. The s12a 218/172 V SAR has a full official database page: nagimiso, HP 200, VSTAR Universe.
  • You want the Raikou ex cards. Those are in Storm Emeralda M6, where there is no PSA 10 listing; the sealed box above is the route.
  • You want the full list of every Raikou print. Our companion piece, the Raikou checklist built from the official database, covers all 24 database entries without prices.

If you want a card that is not on the ranked list — a different Raikou print, or the same card from a different set — sourcing requests for a specific card go through Quick Order. For background on all three legendary beasts together, the legendary beasts guide is the broader read.

On October 29, 2026 fan sites reported a Japanese trademark filing for 「イナズマの衝撃」 (working English translation: Lightning Impact; no official English name exists), which collectors read as a possible Raikou set; nothing is announced. Our Lightning Impact trademark article explains what is confirmed and what is not, and the round-up of the ex★ trademarks places it next to the other filings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Raikou PSA 10 listing is first in your price ranking?

As of October 29, 2026, the Raikou 1st Edition e4 039/088 (Split Earth) is first on our list, offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥264,600 (~$1,718) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms.

What does a PSA 10 back order mean?

It means a PSA 10 copy of that card is sourced to order rather than held on a shelf. The product page shows the current terms, and the listing price is the price on that page.

Is this ranking the market value of each Raikou card?

No. It ranks our own listed back-order prices only, dated October 29, 2026. It does not use or imply any outside price.

What does 1ED mean in the listing name?

It marks a 1st Edition print. The e4 039/088 and BW4 071/069 listings carry it; the s12a 218/172 listing does not.

Is the Raikou e4 039/088 card in the official Japanese card database?

No. The official database covers the Diamond & Pearl era onward, and e-Series cards are not in it, so our sources do not state this card’s illustrator or rarity.

Does the ranking include the Raikou ex prints from Storm Emeralda?

No. None of the three Raikou ex prints (024/076, 092/076, 108/076) is listed as a PSA 10 back order; the ranking covers only the three listings in the table.
