This Raikou Pokémon card checklist covers the 24 entries the official Japanese card database lists for ライコウ, from the Diamond & Pearl era onward, with set code, card number, illustrator and HP for each. It is a checklist, not a price guide: there are no prices in the main table, and rarity letters are not shown because the database does not print them.
The scope matters. The database does not hold the Neo, e-Series or Gold Star Raikou cards, so those appear in a separate section, taken from our own fact-checked guides and labelled “not in the database.” Everything else on this page can be checked against the official card page of the same number.
- The official database lists 24 Raikou entries (DP era onward); two numbers appear as two records each, so there are 22 distinct set-and-number combinations.
- Thirteen illustrator credits appear. Mitsuhiro Arita, Shin Nagasawa and PLANETA Mochizuki each have three entries.
- The newest entries are Raikou ex in Storm Emeralda (M6) and the Raikou 162/103 reprint in M6a; our Raikou V SAR s12a 218/172 PSA 10 back order is a graded Raikou listing that matches a database entry.
What This Checklist Covers
The scope is the 24 entries the official Japanese card database lists (DP era onward) under the Pokémon name ライコウ, including its V, ex and EX forms and the two LEGEND combination cards. The official card pages are the reference for every figure in the table.
Three rules keep the list honest. First, the database prints no rarity letters, so none appear in the main table; where a number is higher than the set count, the table says so instead. Second, where the database holds two records with the same set and number, both are listed. Third, nothing from before the database’s coverage is mixed into the table; those cards are covered in their own section further down, using only what our earlier guides state.
For a graded price comparison, see the Raikou PSA 10 ranking; for the wider story of all three beasts, the legendary beasts guide.
The 24-Entry Checklist
Entries are grouped by set-code family: M, S, SM, XY, then the older codes. “Printed name” is the card name exactly as the database shows it.
| # | Set code | Number | Printed name | Illustrator | HP |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | M6a | 162/103 | ライコウ | Hideki Ishikawa | 110 |

| 20 | LP | 064/L-P | ライコウ | Noriko Hotta | 90 |
| 21 | BW4-B | 025/069 | ライコウEX | shizurow | 170 |

| 24 | DP3 | DPBP#293 | ライコウ | Ryo Ueda | 80 |
Four numbers sit above their set count: M6a 162/103, M6 092/076, M6 108/076 and S12a 218/172. Those are the secret-numbered prints; their exact rarity letters are not in the database, so none is named here. The “second record” rows for SI 137/414 and XY 033/171 are separate database records that share a set, number and illustrator.
Reading the Table: Illustrators, HP and Shared Text
Counting the table by illustrator gives a clear picture. Mitsuhiro Arita, Shin Nagasawa and PLANETA Mochizuki each have three entries. Hideki Ishikawa, aky CG Works, nagimiso, Noriko Hotta and Shinji Higuchi each have two. Takumi Wada, Oku, Kagemaru Himeno, shizurow and Ryo Ueda have one each. That adds up to 24 entries and 13 credits.
| HP | Entries | Which ones |
|---|---|---|
| 200 | 7 | M6 ×3, S12a ×2, SI ×2 |
| 170 | 1 | BW4-B 025/069 |
| 160 | 1 | L2-B Raikou & Suicune LEGEND |
| 140 | 1 | L2-B Entei & Raikou LEGEND |
| 120 | 9 | M1S, SM12a, SM8b, SM8, SMH, SM3p, XY ×2, XY8-Br |
| 110 | 2 | M6a 162/103, S3a 015/076 |
| 90 | 1 | LP 064/L-P |
| 80 | 2 | LP 061/L-P, DP3 DPBP#293 |
The HP counts add up to 24 as well (7 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 9 + 2 + 1 + 2). The pattern is one you can see without any commentary: the HP 200 group is the V and ex cards, HP 120 is the largest group, and the LP 061/L-P and DP3 entries sit at HP 80.
A second reading of the table is by shared card text. Seventeen of the 24 entries share their text with at least one other entry; seven have text of their own. The groups are: M6 024/076, 092/076 and 108/076; S12a 038/172, S12a 218/172 and both SI records; M6a 162/103 with S3a 015/076; SM8b, SMH and SM3p; SM12a with SM8; and XY 033/171 (both records) with XY8-Br 026/059. The seven with their own text are M1S, BW4-B, the two LEGEND cards, the two LP cards and DP3.
M6, M6a and M1S: The Newest Entries

The three M6 Storm Emeralda entries are all ライコウex with HP 200. Storm Emeralda was released on Friday, July 31, 2026. The regular print is 024/076 (aky CG Works); 092/076 is also by aky CG Works; 108/076 is by Oku. Both 092 and 108 are numbered above the set’s 076 count.
The text on all three is the same (rendering): a Basic Pokémon with two attacks. “Wrapped in Lightning” can be used even on the first player’s first turn, and lets you search your deck for an Energy card, attach it to Raikou ex and shuffle. “Power Rush” does 200 and, on a coin flip of tails, Raikou ex cannot attack on your next turn. The ex rule box gives the opponent two Prize cards when it is Knocked Out.
M6a 162/103 is the Raikou in the Classic Collection of the 30th CELEBRATION set, released on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, illustrated by Hideki Ishikawa with HP 110. Its text is the same as S3a 015/076: an attack, “Amazing Shot,” of 120 that also does 120 to one of the opponent’s Benched Pokémon (rendering). Our Raikou 162/103 guide covers the reprint in detail.
M1S 030/063 is a Basic Raikou by Takumi Wada with HP 120 and one attack, “Electric Fall” (rendering): 30 damage, plus 90 more if you have four or more Energy in play. M1S is Mega Symphonia.
Sealed Boxes That Carry Database Raikou Prints
We currently list three sealed boxes for sets that include checklist entries: Storm Emeralda (M6) for the three Raikou ex entries, 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) for the 162/103 print, and Mega Symphonia (M1S) for the 030/063 print. Each has Sealed and No Shrink variations priced separately.
| Box | Raikou entries in the set | Sealed | No Shrink |
|---|---|---|---|
| M6 Storm Emeralda | 024/076, 092/076, 108/076 | ¥8,926 (~$58) | ¥8,853 (~$57) |
| M6a 30th CELEBRATION | 162/103 | ¥23,750 (~$154) | ¥23,021 (~$149) |
| M1S Mega Symphonia | 030/063 | ¥7,918 (~$51) | ¥6,543 (~$42) |
A box lists what the set contains, not what a given box will hold. This article makes no statement about pull rates, and the checklist does not either. Our M6 card list page and M6a card list page show the full contents of those two sets.
S3a, S12a and SI: Sword & Shield Codes

S3a 015/076 is from Legendary Heartbeat, released on Friday, July 10, 2020. Our Amazing Rare guide records that the Raikou is the only legendary beast in the Amazing Rare group: a Basic, HP 110, with the attack described above. Ishikawa illustrated it, and the M6a reprint repeats that credit.

S12a (VSTAR Universe, released on Friday, December 2, 2022) has two Raikou V entries: the regular 038/172 by PLANETA Mochizuki and the secret-numbered 218/172 by nagimiso. Both are HP 200 and share their text (rendering): the Ability “Instant Speed” lets you draw a card once during your turn while it is in the Active Spot, and the attack “Lightning Rondo” does 20 plus 20 more for each Benched Pokémon on both sides. The V rule box gives the opponent two Prize cards when it is Knocked Out.
SI 137/414 is the same Raikou V text and the PLANETA Mochizuki credit again, in the SI set code, which is the code of the Start Deck 100 line (see our Start Deck 100 guide). The database holds two records for it. Our Raikou V PSA 10 page covers the S12a card as a graded copy, and the card list for the set is at our S12a listing page.
SM and XY Entries

Five entries carry an SM code. The three by Mitsuhiro Arita are SM3p 033/072, SMH 035/131 and SM8b 034/150, all HP 120 with identical text (rendering): “Rolling Thunder” does 30 and attaches one Energy from your discard pile to a Benched Pokémon, and “Lightning Ball” does 90. The other two are SM8 037/095 (Kagemaru Himeno) and SM12a 044/173 (nagimiso), also HP 120 and sharing the text “Lost Voltage” (rendering): 30, plus 90 more if there is an Energy in your Lost Zone.

The XY entries are all by Shin Nagasawa: XY 033/171 (two records) and XY8-Br 026/059, which is the Red Flash set. All three are HP 120 with the same text (rendering): the Ability “Glowing Body” reduces damage it takes from attacks by 20 while it has Energy attached, and the attack “Thunder Lance” does 50 plus 20 more for each Energy attached.
BW4, LEGEND, LP and DP3: The Oldest Entries

The oldest entry in the table is DP3 DPBP#293 by Ryo Ueda: a Level 42 Raikou with HP 80, a Poké-Power called “Quick Strike” and an attack called “Thunder Climb” (rendering). The number is printed as DPBP#293, not in the usual slash format.
The two LP entries are 061/L-P (HP 80) and 064/L-P (HP 90), both by Noriko Hotta. The first has one attack that cannot be used the following turn; the second has a Poké-Body that lowers its retreat cost by the Energy attached and an attack that also damages one of your own Pokémon by 20 (rendering).
BW4-B 025/069 is the Dark Rush Raikou EX by shizurow, HP 170. Its attacks are covered in our PSA 10 ranking, which also lists the secret-numbered 071/069 print as a back order.
The two L2-B LEGEND entries come from Reviving Legends, released on Thursday, February 11, 2010, and both are by Shinji Higuchi. They are two-card combinations: each half is a separate card numbered in the 063–068/080 range, and you combine the two halves on the Bench. エンテイ&ライコウLEGEND (HP 140) has the attack “Thunder Fall” (rendering), which discards all attached Energy and does 80 to every Pokémon in play that has a Poké-Power. ライコウ&スイクンLEGEND (HP 160) has “Lightning Spear” at 150, which also does 50 to itself, and “Aurora Gain” at 50, which heals 50. A Knock Out gives the opponent two Prize cards. For the format as a whole, see the LEGEND cards guide, which describes the LEGEND era in general and not these two cards.
Raikou Cards Not in the Database
Several Raikou cards recorded in our earlier guides pre-date the database’s coverage. They are listed here from our earlier guides, with only what those guides state. None of these is part of the 24 entries above.
| Card | What our guides state | Not stated in our sources |
|---|---|---|
| Neo Revelation Raikou (Awakening Legends) | Released Thursday, November 23, 2000. English numbering #13/64 (Rare Holo) and #22/64 (Rare); HP 80; Lightning; Ken Sugimori | Japanese card numbers |
| Premium File 3 (neo) | Released Thursday, November 23, 2000; nine legendary-focused cards, Raikou among them | Raikou’s card number |
| Raikou e4 039/088, Split Earth (e-Series, 1st Edition) | The card number and 1st Edition status, as our listing names it | Illustrator, rarity, card text |
| Raikou Gold Star (2005) | Japanese 039/106 in Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean (released Friday, April 8, 2005); English #114/115 in EX Unseen Forces (Monday, August 22, 2005); HP 80; Masakazu Fukuda | Price, own-hosted image |
Of these, the e4 card is the one we list: see the Raikou PSA 10 ranking for its back-order listing. The e-Series is explained in our e-Series guide, and the old-back format in the old-back guide.
The October 29, 2026 Trademark Reports and Raikou
On October 29, 2026 fan sites reported a Japanese trademark filing for 「イナズマの衝撃」 (working English translation: Lightning Impact; no official English name exists), which collectors read as a possible Raikou set; nothing is announced. Our Lightning Impact trademark article explains what is confirmed and what is not, and the ex★ trademark round-up sets it beside the other filings.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many Raikou cards are in the official Japanese card database?
This checklist covers the 24 entries the official Japanese card database lists (DP era onward). Two numbers, SI 137/414 and XY 033/171, appear as two records each, so there are 22 distinct set-and-number combinations.
Which illustrators have drawn the most Raikou database entries?
Mitsuhiro Arita, Shin Nagasawa and PLANETA Mochizuki each have three entries. Thirteen illustrator credits appear in total.
Does the official database show rarity letters such as SAR?
No. The database prints set code, number, illustrator, HP and card text, but not rarity letters. Where a number is higher than the set count, as with S12a 218/172, this checklist says so instead of naming a rarity.
Is the e-Series Raikou e4 039/088 in the database?
No. The database covers the Diamond & Pearl era onward, so the e-Series, Neo and Gold Star Raikou cards are listed separately and only with what our earlier guides state.
Which Raikou prints can I buy in a sealed booster box?
We currently list the M6 Storm Emeralda box for the three Raikou ex entries, the M6a 30th CELEBRATION box for 162/103 and the M1S Mega Symphonia box for 030/063. The product pages show the Sealed and No Shrink prices.
How many illustrators are credited across the Raikou entries?
Thirteen illustrator credits appear across the 24 entries; Mitsuhiro Arita, Shin Nagasawa and PLANETA Mochizuki have three entries each.
