Both of these boxes chase a Mew ex secret rare. Both also carry a Charizard-flavoured pull worth talking about. Beyond that overlap, a 30th CELEBRATION pack and a Shiny Treasure ex pack are built to different formulas — different card counts, different pack prices, and a near-three-year gap in how settled each set’s chase list is.
30th CELEBRATION (M6a) released on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, as the Pokémon Trading Card Game’s 30th-anniversary main set. Shiny Treasure ex (SV4a) released on December 1, 2023, as a Scarlet & Violet-era high-class pack. Both are Japanese booster boxes we currently list, so here is what is actually in each one, what the confirmed chase cards are, and what each box was asking on September 18, 2026 and what we currently list it at.
The 30th CELEBRATION Booster Box is 20 packs of 6 foil cards, chasing a still-not-fully-catalogued 32-card AR/SAR/FUR block topped by Mewtwo ex and Mew ex Futuristic Rares. Shiny Treasure ex is 10 packs of 10 cards from a fully catalogued 360-card set, where the chase list runs through a shiny black Charizard ex SSR, a Special Art Rare Charizard ex, and Iono’s Special Art Rare.

30th Celebration vs Shiny Treasure ex at a Glance
| 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) | Shiny Treasure ex (SV4a) | |
|---|---|---|
| Release date | September 16, 2026 | December 1, 2023 |
| Cards per pack | 6, all foil | 10 |
| Packs per box | 20 (¥360 × 20 = ¥7,200) | 10 packs per our Shiny Treasure ex buying guide (the official product page states only the ¥550 per-pack price) |
| Box price | Sold as a 20-pack box at ¥7,200 on Pokémon Center Online | ¥5,500, derived from the official ¥550 pack price (10 × ¥550) |
| Set size | 165 numbered cards plus 8 Basic Energy (173 in all); PokeBeach’s headline figure is 176 | 360 cards: a 190-card base set (including 24 Double Rare ex cards) plus a 170-card secret block |
Shiny Treasure ex flips the usual Japanese pack ratio: instead of a standard expansion pack’s 5 cards for ¥180, it runs 10 cards for ¥550. That format, and its unusually large 170-card secret block, are still true of a set released nearly three years ago.
What’s in a 30th Celebration Box

Every 30th CELEBRATION pack carries one Basic Energy guaranteed, per the official product page. The Japanese page does not itself say “one Pikachu per pack” — that guarantee is official only for the English product, and is reported for the Japanese pack by PokeBeach. PokeBeach reported, from an official box opening shown before release, that one 20-pack box contained 20 of the 30 Pikachu (each unique, no duplicates), 2 Classic Collection cards, 4 Illustration Rares, 1 Special Illustration Rare, and 1 Futuristic Rare. The Pokémon Company has not published pull rates, and one reported opening is not a rate.
Above the 103-card main set sits a 30-card Classic Collection block (136–165) — reprints with no regulation mark, which the official product page says cannot be used in the current Standard regulation, though they remain usable wherever the original card is legal. Higher still is the 32-card AR/SAR/FUR secret block (104–135); all 32 numbers have now been shown on official images or release-day marketplace listings, but the block is still not catalogued in the official database, which currently lists 140 M6a entries.
What’s in a Shiny Treasure ex Box

Per our live buying guide, Shiny Treasure ex’s 190-card base set includes 24 Double Rare ex cards, and above that sits a 170-card secret block (191–360) — together the 360-card total that defines the set. Unlike M6a’s still-incomplete secret tier, every one of these 360 cards has been catalogued and confirmed since release in December 2023.
Chase Cards in Each Set
Both sets carry Charizard and Mew ex chase prints. Here is what each currently offers:
| Set | Card | Rarity |
|---|---|---|
| M6a | Mewtwo ex (Futuristic Rare, 134/103) | FUR |
| M6a | Mew ex (Futuristic Rare, 135/103) | FUR |
| SV4a | Charizard ex (331/190, shiny black colouring) | SSR |
| SV4a | Charizard ex (349/190, Tera-style full art) | SAR |
| SV4a | Iono (350/190) | SAR |
| SV4a | Mew ex (347/190) | SAR |

Per our live Shiny Treasure ex guide, Charizard ex is printed three times in the set: a non-secret RR at 115/190, the shiny-coloured SSR at 331/190, and the Tera-style full-art SAR at 349/190 — the shiny black colouring at 331/190 is the one collectors specifically ask about. Iono’s SAR (350/190) is one of eight cards in the set’s SAR tier, alongside Mew ex SAR 347/190; a separate Mew ex SSR sits at 327/190. M6a’s own headline chase is its FUR pair, Mewtwo ex and Mew ex, both by YOSHIROTTEN — the only illustrator credited anywhere in the 104–135 block so far.

Dated Asking Prices
On SNKRDUNK, the lowest live asking price for a sealed (shrink) M6a box moved ¥47,200 (September 1) → ¥28,200 (September 10) → ¥17,500 (September 16, release day) → ¥20,994 (September 18) — still roughly 2.9× the ¥7,200 box price. The No Shrink M6a listing moved ¥25,800 (September 10) → ¥13,290 (September 16) → ¥16,900 (September 18).
For Shiny Treasure ex, SNKRDUNK’s lowest live ask on September 18, 2026 was ¥15,600 — about 2.8× the set’s ¥5,500 derived box price, with no earlier dated figure in this update. These are seller asking prices, not sale prices, and neither figure predicts where either box goes next.
Which Box Fits You
- You want a triple-print Charizard chase in one set: Shiny Treasure ex, with a non-secret RR, a shiny SSR, and a Tera-style SAR all under one card name.
- You want the newest Mew ex print with a still-forming chase list: M6a. Its FUR pair is confirmed, but the wider AR/SAR/FUR block is still not fully catalogued.
- You want the higher card count per pack: Shiny Treasure ex’s 10-card packs outnumber M6a’s 6-card packs, though M6a’s pack is cheaper (¥360 vs ¥550).
- You want a set where every secret rare is already confirmed: Shiny Treasure ex’s full 360-card list has been settled since 2023.
Nothing here says one box will move in price faster than the other — only what is confirmed to be inside each one as of this update.
