Two things stand out reading down that list. First, Buggy’s card-game “Trait” line changes over time — early prints carry East Blue/Buggy Pirates or Impel Down/Buggy Pirates, while everything from -Emperors in the New World- [OP-09] onward carries The Four Emperors/Cross Guild. Second, -THE TIME OF BATTLE- [OP-16] is by far his deepest single-set showing: a Leader, an SR, a UC, and a Buggy-specific Event card all in one booster.
The Chase Print: OP09-051 Comic Parallel

Buggy’s flagship chase card is OP09-051, a R Blue Character card from -Emperors in the New World- [OP-09]. On the official card list it exists in eight forms under the same number: the standard print, parallels p1, p2, and p4, a true SP CARD variant (p3), two further SP parallels printed later in -The Azure Sea’s Seven- [OP-14] (p5, p6), and a reprint (r1) in the -Blue Buggy- [ST-25] starter deck. That spread of variants under one card number is exactly the kind of thing that causes mix-ups when people are trying to identify what they own.
The copy we hold and have photographed ourselves is the p2 variant — a comic-panel background parallel, officially rarity R. We’ve checked our own product photography against the official OP09-051_p2 image and confirmed it’s an exact match. That’s a distinct card from the true SP CARD version of OP09-051 (p3), which uses a different WANTED-poster illustration and carries the actual “SP” rarity designation. If you see our listing described as “R-SP” anywhere, that’s shorthand from our own internal catalog naming — the card’s official rarity is R, and it’s the comic-panel parallel, not the SP CARD.
If the art shows a black-and-white manga panel behind Buggy, you have the p2 comic parallel — the print covered here. If the art is a full-color WANTED-poster illustration, that’s the separate SP CARD (p3), a different collectible with its own rarity line.
OP09-051’s effect, per the official card text: “[On Play] Place up to 1 of your opponent’s Characters at the bottom of the owner’s deck. OP09-042, Blue, is his original Leader debut in -Emperors in the New World- [OP-09]. It was reprinted as a parallel (p1) in the same set, again (p2) as the Leader inside the dedicated -Blue Buggy- [ST-25] starter deck, and a third time (p3) in an English 2nd Anniversary Set. OP16-041, also Blue, is his second Leader number, headlining -THE TIME OF BATTLE- [OP-16] with an Impel Down/Buggy Pirates trait line rather than The Four Emperors/Cross Guild.

The -Blue Buggy- [ST-25] starter deck ships with the OP09-042 Leader reprint at the helm and adds ST25-004, an SR Character card, as its own chase pull. Between the two Leader numbers and a starter deck built specifically around him, Buggy sits in a smaller group of characters who’ve headlined a dedicated deck rather than only appearing as a supporting Character card.
Other Confirmed Buggy Prints
Beyond the chase print and the Leader lineup, Buggy has been printed across most of the game’s mainline boosters and several starter decks. His earliest appearance is OP02-058, an R Character card from -Paramount War- [OP-02], with a further parallel (p1). -Pillars of Strength- [OP-03] added two more: OP03-008 (UC) and OP03-032 (C).
-THE TIME OF BATTLE- [OP-16] is Buggy’s deepest single-set showing outside his Leader debut: alongside the OP16-041 Leader, it carries OP16-031 (UC), OP16-048 (SR, with a p1 parallel), and OP16-057, a rarity-C Event card titled “Captain Buggy’s Our Savior!!”

Two prints connect Buggy back to the Roger Pirates rather than his own crew: OP12-012 (C, -Legacy of the Master- [OP-12]) and OP13-072 (R, -Carrying on His Will- [OP-13]) are both catalogued with the Trait Roger Pirates rather than Buggy Pirates or The Four Emperors/Cross Guild.

Is Buggy in OP-17?
OP-17, provisionally translated as -World’s Strongest Warriors- (JP: 世界最強の戦士), releases August 22, 2026 at ¥240 (tax included) per pack, six cards per pack, with 131 card types plus four additional variants confirmed — including 10 SP cards, 1 Treasure Rare, 6 Leaders, and 3 SEC cards. Pre-order lottery entries ran August 7–18, 2026. The set’s officially revealed cards so far center on the Rocks Pirates (Rocks D. Xebec, Edward Newgate, Kaidou, Charlotte Linlin, Shiki) and the Elbaf-arc Straw Hat crew (Luffy, Zoro, and others), with a “Haoshoku SP” (Conqueror’s Haki SP) subline confirmed to exist.
As of August 12, 2026, Buggy has not appeared in any officially revealed OP-17 card. Neither the official OP-17 product page nor the JP card list (currently topping out at OP-16) shows a Buggy print for this set. If you’re seeing OP-17 Buggy speculation elsewhere online, it’s speculation — not confirmed by Bandai as of this writing.
Confirmed: OP-17 is a Rocks Pirates-focused set, and Buggy has two verified prints (OP12-012, OP13-072) carrying the Roger Pirates trait, tying him to that era. Speculation: whether that Roger Pirates connection means Buggy gets a card in this set or a follow-up. We’re not treating that as a prediction — it’s an open question until Bandai reveals more of the checklist.
