Entei 020/193 (MEGA Dream ex, M2a) Japanese Pokemon Card Guide

Entei 020/193 (MEGA Dream ex, M2a) Japanese Pokemon Card Guide

The Entei Pokemon card numbered 020/193 in M2a is the newest エンテイ row we have verified in the official Japanese card database on pokemon-card.com. It is a Basic Pokemon with 140 HP, it carries the Pokedex line No.244 かざんポケモン, and the illustrator credit reads Kazumasa Yasukuni. M2a is the set our listings name High Class Pack “MEGA Dream ex”.

This guide reads that one card closely: what the database prints, what the Japanese card text says when it is rendered into English, how the card sits next to the other regular Entei prints of 2023 to 2026, and how it relates to the Raikou and Suicune cards that use the same attack pattern. Every figure for a card comes from the database row; every yen figure for our own products is the current listed price on October 29, 2026, converted at ¥154/USD.

Key Takeaways
  • Entei 020/193 (M2a) is a plain Basic Entei, 140 HP, credited to Kazumasa Yasukuni. It is not an ex card and not a V card.
  • Its attack フレアフォール30+ adds 90 damage when you have 4 or more Energy in play (rendering). Raikou M1S 030/063 and Suicune M2 026/080 use the same pattern.
  • The set is on our shelf as the M2A-Mega Dream ex Japanese Pokemon Booster Box. The full singles list for the set is on the M2a card list page.

What Entei 020/193 Is

The database page for エンテイ M2a 020/193 prints the values below. The database does not print a rarity letter for this card, so this guide does not name one; the number 020 sits well inside the 193-card main set, which is the position a regular card takes in the numbering.

Two things set this print apart from what a collector might expect from an Entei in a modern high class pack. First, it is a regular card, not an ex: the official database does not hold a lower-case Entei ex among its 2023 to 2026 entries, and the card carries no rule box (the Prize-card rule for this card type is on the official rules page). Second, the HP of 140 compares with 130 on the SV3, SV4a and SVJL prints.

For the wider family of Entei prints, including the older ones that the database does not cover, our Entei cards guide and the legendary beasts card guide are the broader references. This article stays on the one card.

The Card Text, Rendered From the Japanese

The official text for Entei 020/193 is in Japanese. The rendering below follows the printed words; it is our English reading, not an official translation, and the effect names in quotation marks are renderings of the Japanese names.

Printed name Type Damage Effect, rendered
フレアフォール Attack 30+ If you have 4 or more Energy in play on your side, this attack does 90 more damage.

The card prints one attack and no Ability. The “Flare Fall” attack (rendering) starts at 30 damage and reaches 120 once the condition is met. The condition counts Energy “in your field”, which the Japanese text states as 自分の場にエネルギーが4個以上, so it is a count across your whole side of the table rather than only the Energy attached to Entei itself. That is a reading of the printed words and nothing more: it says how the text is built, not how the card performs in any format.

Compare that with the other regular Entei cards of the same years. The SV3, SV4a and SVJL prints have an Ability named プレッシャー (“Pressure”, rendering) and an attack named ブレイズボール (“Blaze Ball”, rendering); the M2a card has neither. In other words, two Entei cards printed within a few years of each other are different cards in play terms, and the number in the corner is the only thing that separates them quickly. The next sections set the cards side by side.

The Same Attack on Raikou and Suicune

Entei 020/193 is not the only regular beast card that uses this attack pattern. The official database shows the same structure on a Raikou and a Suicune from nearby sets: a 30-damage attack that adds 90 when you have 4 or more Energy in play.

Card Set and number Illustrator HP Attack (printed name) and rule
エンテイ M2a 020/193 Kazumasa Yasukuni 140 フレアフォール30+, 90 more with 4 or more Energy in play
ライコウ M1S 030/063 Takumi Wada 120 エレキフォール30+, 90 more with 4 or more Energy in play
スイクン M2 026/080 Takeshi Nakamura 130 クリスタルフォール30+, 90 more with 4 or more Energy in play

Each of the three attacks is named after the beast’s element with フォール (“fall”) at the end, and each is printed on a Basic card that also carries its own Pokedex line: No.244 for Entei, No.243 for Raikou and No.245 for Suicune. The Raikou and Suicune rows are in the database under their own set codes (M1S and M2), not under M2a. The numbers on their cards, 030/063 and 026/080, show that the three come from three different sets.

Raikou 030/063 M1S, illustrated by Takumi Wada
Raikou 030/063, M1S (Takumi Wada) — official card database image
Suicune 026/080 M2, illustrated by Takeshi Nakamura
Suicune 026/080, M2 (Takeshi Nakamura) — official card database image

A collector who wants all three of these beasts as regular cards from the same run therefore has to look across three set codes. We keep the Raikou and Suicune story on their own pages; for the Entei side, the point is that 020/193 is part of a trio, and that the trio shares a mechanic rather than a set.

Entei 020/193 Against the Other Regular Prints

Four regular (non-V, non-ex, non-GX) Entei rows from 2023 to 2026 are in the official database. Three of them share one design and one illustrator; the fourth is the M2a card.

Set and number Illustrator HP Ability Attack (printed name) Card ID
SV3 016/108 toriyufu 130 プレッシャー ブレイズボール60+ 43858
SV4a 028/190 toriyufu 130 プレッシャー ブレイズボール60+ 44551
SVJL 005/021 toriyufu 130 プレッシャー ブレイズボール60+ 45805
M2a 020/193 Kazumasa Yasukuni 140 None printed フレアフォール30+ 48542

The Ability プレッシャー (“Pressure”, rendering) on the three toriyufu cards reduces the damage of the opponent’s Active Pokemon’s attacks by 20 while Entei is in the Active Spot, and the attack ブレイズボール60+ (“Blaze Ball”, rendering) adds 20 damage for each Energy attached to Entei. The M2a card swaps both for the single 4-Energy attack described above. This comparison is of printed text only; it does not rank the cards.

The illustrator credit also tells the cards apart at a glance. The three toriyufu prints credit the same illustrator and carry identical card text; whether their artwork is identical is not established by the credit alone. The Yasukuni print has a different illustrator credit, so it carries different artwork. The Set: M2a MEGA Dream ex

M2a is the set code attached to Entei 020/193. Our own listings write the set name as High Class Pack “MEGA Dream ex”, and our sealed product is titled M2A-Mega Dream ex Japanese Pokemon Booster Box. Both names refer to the same release. The set’s Entei is a regular card with a number inside the 193-card main set; the numbers above 193 in the same set are the secret-numbered prints.

Our listing names show how far that secret range runs. The PSA 10 cards we currently list from M2a carry numbers from 199/193 (Psyduck) through 250/193 (MEGA Dragonite ex MUR, as our listing names it), so the set’s numbering reaches at least 250 on the listings we carry. Entei 020/193 is nowhere near that range, and that is the point for a buyer: this is a card of the main numbering, not one of the secret prints, and it is a card a collector would look for in the box itself or as a single.

The sealed box is currently listed in two variations. The Sealed variation is listed at ¥12,368 (~$80) and the No Shrink variation at ¥11,565 (~$75).

A box gives you the set; it does not give you a specific card. We publish no odds for any single card, so we do not put a number on the chance of opening Entei 020/193. If a particular single is what you want, say so through Quick Order (see the last section).

The M2a secret prints we currently list as PSA 10 cards are a different kind of purchase from the Entei. The table shows a few of them with their listing names, so the numbers above 193 are concrete.

Listing name (as we write it) Number in M2a Our price
PSA10 Canari SAR 248/193 Currently listed at ¥13,751 (~$89)
PSA10 MEGA Dragonite ex SAR 246/193 Currently listed at ¥33,702 (~$219) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order)
PSA10 Pikachu ex SAR 234/193 Currently listed at ¥43,687 (~$284)
PSA10 MEGA Gengar ex SAR 240/193 Currently listed at ¥63,109 (~$410)

The letters SAR in those names are the letters our listings carry; the official database does not print rarity letters. We do not currently list a PSA 10 Entei 020/193, and none of the cards in the table is an Entei. Full set coverage is on the M2a card list, which we keep as the single place for the set’s cards and avoid repeating here.

Other Entei Cards We List

We do not list a graded Entei 020/193. The Entei cards in our catalogue are different cards from different sets, and the table names each one by its own listing name so the numbers are not confused with the M2a card.

Listing name (as we write it) What it is Our price
PSA10 Entei [XY 011/171] (High Class Pack “The Best of XY”) Entei XY 011/171, Mitsuhiro Arita in the database Currently listed at ¥41,088 (~$267)
PSA10 Entei V SAR [s12a 213/172] (High Class Pack “VSTAR Universe”) Entei V, S12a 213/172 Offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥15,525 (~$101) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms
PSA10 Entei LV.24 : Old Back [PRMF-3 No.244] (Pokemon Card neo “Premium File 3”) An old-back Entei with the same No.244 Pokedex number Offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥66,340 (~$431) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms

The Entei V is the card to read next if the 230-HP Entei interests you; our Entei V PSA 10 guide goes through its four database rows. The Pokedex line No.244 かざんポケモン is printed on all four regular Entei cards compared above, which makes it a useful cross-check; the set code and number then say which one. The V, ex and GX cards are a different family and are read separately.

How to Identify the Print in Your Hand

An Entei card can be placed from three things printed on the card: the set code, the number over the denominator, and the illustrator credit. The table lists the ones this article covers.

What the card shows Print it points to
020/193 and the set code M2a This card: Kazumasa Yasukuni, 140 HP, attack フレアフォール30+
016/108, 028/190 or 005/021 One of the three toriyufu prints (SV3, SV4a, SVJL), 130 HP, Ability プレッシャー
213/190 in the SV4a set The SV4a card numbered above the set count (a separate print from 028/190)
Name エンテイV or エンテイEX or エンテイGX A different card family; not a regular Entei

Start with the number. The M2a card reads 020 over 193, and the denominator is the quickest filter, because among the Entei rows we have verified only this one has 193 as its denominator. Then check the illustrator line at the bottom of the card: Kazumasa Yasukuni. If both match, the Pokedex line should read No.244 かざんポケモン and the HP should read 140.

Because the database does not print a rarity letter, do not rely on a letter to identify a card. Use the number and the illustrator. When you need to compare a card with its set, our card list hub links every set page we keep.

Where This Fits With the Entei Trademark Report

On October 29, 2026 fan sites reported a Japanese trademark filing for 「マグマの鼓動」 (working English translation: Magma Heartbeat; no official English name exists), which collectors read as a possible Entei set; nothing is announced. Our Entei trademark explainer sets out what is confirmed and what is not, and the wider 2027 trademarks round-up covers the other names.
