Kieran, known in Japan as スグリ (Suguri), is the Trainer character introduced in Scarlet & Violet’s “The Indigo Disk” downloadable content, and he has been printed as a Supporter card twice in the Japanese TCG.
Two Special Art Rare (SAR) printings exist so far: one from the SV6 expansion pack released in April 2024, and a second, cheaper printing from the SV8a high-class pack released eight months later. Both use the same card text, which makes them easy to mix up if you’re only glancing at the artwork. This guide separates the two prints, walks through what each one does, and covers what we can — and can’t — confirm about an English-set equivalent.

Kieran SAR 129/101: Mask of Change (SV6)
Kieran’s first Japanese Supporter print appeared in 拡張パック「仮面の変幻」 — the SV6 expansion pack, released 26 April 2024 as part of a 133-card set. Limitless TCG lists the set’s English name as “Mask of Change,” while our own store title for the sealed box uses “Transformation Mask” — the same set, just two different English renderings of the same Japanese title.
The card is numbered 129/101, Special Art Rare (SAR), illustrated by Teeziro.
Card text: choose one of two effects — swap your Active Pokemon with a Benched Pokemon, or add 30 extra damage to an attack against the opponent’s Active ex or V Pokemon this turn. Regulation Mark H is printed on the card.

Kieran SAR 230/187: Terastal Festival ex (SV8a)
Eight months later, Kieran returned in ハイクラスパック「テラスタルフェスex」 — the SV8a high-class pack, released 6 December 2024 as a 237-card set. This print is numbered 230/187, Special Art Rare (SAR), illustrated by Iori Suzuki — a different artist from the SV6 print.
The card text is identical to the SV6 printing: choose to swap your Active Pokemon with a Benched Pokemon, or add 30 damage to an attack against the opponent’s Active ex or V Pokemon. It also carries Regulation Mark H.
Our own listing brackets this set as “Terastal Festival ex,” while Limitless’s database header reads “Terastal Fest ex (SV8a).” That’s the same set — a minor shorthand difference in how the English name gets written, not a separate print.

Japanese vs English Print
The SV6 print (129/101) is reported by Limitless as corresponding to the English-set card Twilight Masquerade #154 — meaning the standard English print of this Kieran Supporter comes from that set.
The SV8a print’s English-set equivalent is not something we can confirm. The same automated lookup also returned “Twilight Masquerade #154” for the SV8a card, but that can’t be right: SV8a “Terastal Fest ex” released in December 2024, months after Twilight Masquerade came out, so a card from that later Japanese set would realistically map into a later English set instead. Until that specific mapping is independently verified, treat the SV8a print’s English equivalent as unconfirmed rather than assuming it shares a number with the SV6 print.
Where This SAR Sits in Japanese Rarity Tiers
Both Kieran prints carry the same rarity classification — Special Art Rare — even though they come from different product tiers. SV6 “Mask of Change” is a standard 拡張パック (expansion pack), while SV8a “Terastal Fest ex” is billed as a ハイクラスパック (high-class pack), a separate Japanese product category from a regular expansion release.
Because the card text is identical on both prints, the illustration is the main thing separating them: Teeziro’s SV6 artwork versus Iori Suzuki’s SV8a artwork. SAR itself denotes a full-art alternate-illustration treatment applied to Trainer and Supporter cards in the current Scarlet & Violet era — the same tier both of Kieran’s prints occupy, regardless of which pack they were pulled from.
