Six store-specific Pikachu exist in our catalog so far — Sapporo (2016), Kanazawa (2020, in two versions people mix up constantly), and the 2025 trio of Tohoku, Hiroshima and Fukuoka. A seventh, Tohoku’s original 2017 promo, sits in our system as an unpublished draft with no stock, so it gets a mention for lineage only, not a listing.

The 2025 Special BOX Trio: Tohoku, Hiroshima & Fukuoka
Pokemon Center Japan announced three regional Special BOX products in 2025 — ポケモンセンタートウホク (Tohoku), ポケモンセンターヒロシマ (Hiroshima) and ポケモンセンターフクオカ (Fukuoka) — each retailing at ¥2,090 (tax included) and commemorating that store’s reopening. Every box shared the same structure: one mirror-holofoil promo Pikachu, a 64-card deck shield, a deck case, and a long card storage box, sold exclusively by lottery on Pokemon Center Online.

Buying the sealed box gets you the promo, deck shield and deck case together for less than most of the loose singles above — the Tohoku box in particular is our highest-volume, lowest-price way into this whole category.
Kanazawa’s Two Pikachus: 144 vs 147
Kanazawa stands out for having two distinct Pikachu promos from a single release. On November 20, 2020, Pokemon Center released the スペシャルBOX ポケモンセンターカナザワオープン記念 (¥5,104, tax included), a 19-booster box that also included three kira promo cards — the Kanazawa Pikachu, Milotic (145/S-P), and Sobble (146/S-P) — plus a Kanazawa-art card storage box and a 64-card deck shield.
147/S-P is the one that came inside the BOX — mirror holofoil, no Pokemon Center logo anywhere on the card, illustrated by Fuzichoco. 144/S-P was distributed separately as a plain holofoil card, handed to customers who visited a Pokemon Center or Pokemon Store location, and carries the Pokemon Center Kanazawa logo printed in the bottom right.
Logo in the bottom right = 144 (one copy is currently listed at ¥71,956). No logo anywhere on the card = 147 (currently sold out; last listed at ¥217,927).

Sapporo 2016: Where the Regional Pikachu Series Began
The first store-specific Pikachu was Sapporo’s Pikachu, 005/SM-P, distributed starting December 1, 2016 to celebrate the reopening of Pokemon Center Sapporo. It carries an updated Pokemon Center Sapporo logo and was illustrated by kawayoo, under the campaign name アローラロコンとゆきまつりキャンペーン (the “Alolan Vulpix and Snow Festival” campaign). Distribution was nationwide plus online — one card per five booster packs purchased at any Pokemon Center, Pokemon Store, or Pokemon Center Online, while stocks lasted — not a Sapporo-store-only exclusive despite the name.
We currently hold this as a PSA 10, one-of-one stock at ¥307,146 (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) — our highest-priced listing across the entire regional Pikachu lineup, and the oldest.
A year later, Pokemon Center Tohoku ran its own reopening promo (088/SM-P, 2017) using the same “one per five packs” distribution model. We don’t currently have stock of that one, so it appears in this guide as lineage context, not as a listing.

Why These Promos Command a Premium
None of these six cards is cheap relative to a standard set promo, and three things explain why:
- Lottery-only distribution. The 2025 trio sold exclusively through a lottery on Pokemon Center Online — applications ran June 13–17, 2025 — not through open retail. Anyone who didn’t win has to buy secondary.
- A one-time event finish. Every one of the six is a mirror holofoil or holofoil promo exclusive to that release.
- Permanent store-specific commemoration. Each card commemorates one specific store event and was never made available again.
That combination is the whole appeal for collectors who treat Pokemon Center regional promos as their own category, separate from set chase cards.
