Raikou card value, in this guide, means one measurable thing: what we currently list a Japanese Raikou (ライコウ) card for. As of October 29, 2026 we list three Raikou cards, all as PSA 10 back orders: the e4 039/088 1st Edition from Expansion Pack Vol.4 “Split Earth”, the BW4 071/069 Raikou EX 1st Edition from “Dark Rush”, and the s12a 218/172 Raikou V from “VSTAR Universe”. This guide ranks those three by our listed price, then walks the rest of the Raikou prints era by era and says plainly which ones we do not list.
No marketplace figure, no sold price and no forecast appears here. Every yen figure is one of our own current listing prices, linked to its product page and dated October 29, 2026. USD figures convert at ¥154/USD and are approximate. We sell Japanese sealed boxes and PSA 10 singles from Tokyo.
- As of October 29, 2026 the highest of our three Raikou listings is the e4 039/088 1st Edition at ¥264,600 (~$1,718), offered as a PSA 10 back order. The lowest is the V SAR 218/172, listed at ¥18,574 (~$121) on its own product page.
- The official Japanese card database holds 24 Raikou entries. Most of them are not listed by us; for those, sourcing requests go through Quick Order.
- A listed price tells you what we currently list an item for. It does not predict anything, and it is not a market figure.
Prices, listing names and the set of Raikou cards we list are as of October 29, 2026. Database facts are as of the same date. Product pages show the current terms.
How This Guide Measures Value
This guide uses one measure. The only prices it prints are the prices at which we currently list Raikou cards, and each one is linked so you can see the product page and its current terms.
Three of those listings are PSA 10 back orders. A back order is a PSA 10 copy that we source to order; the product page shows the current terms. That wording matters for reading the ranking below: a back-order price is a price for an order we then source, not a claim about any one slab sitting on a shelf.
The same rule applies to prints we do not list. Where the table later says “not listed”, there is no price in this guide, and none is implied. Sourcing requests for a specific card go through Quick Order.
Rarity letters appear only where our listing name or our earlier guides print them, and the card text is rendered into English from the official Japanese database rows rather than quoted. The database itself does not print rarity letters.
Our Three Raikou Listings, Ranked
The ranking below is by our listed price as of October 29, 2026, highest first. The ratios in the last column compare our own listings with each other and with nothing else.
| Rank | Listing (as named by us) | Our listed price (as of October 29, 2026) | Against the V SAR listing | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | PSA10 Raikou :1ED [e4 039/088] (Expansion Pack Vol.4 “Split Earth”) | e-series 1st Edition, 039/088 | PSA 10 back order at ¥264,600 (~$1,718) | about 14 times |
| 2 | PSA10 Raikou EX SR :1ED [BW4 071/069] (Expansion Pack “Dark Rush”) | Raikou EX, 1st Edition, 071/069 | PSA 10 back order at ¥148,720 (~$966) | about 8 times |
| 3 | PSA10 Raikou V SAR [s12a 218/172] (High Class Pack “VSTAR Universe”) | Raikou V, 218/172 | PSA 10 back order at ¥18,574 (~$121) | baseline |
Between the top two listings the ratio is about 1.8 times. Between the top and the bottom it is about 14 times. These are the gaps between three listing prices on one date; they are not statements about which card is scarcer, and the guide makes no claim about why the prices sit where they do.
All three are back orders, so the ranking compares like with like in format. Each product page shows the current terms.
Raikou e4 039/088 1st Edition

As of October 29, 2026 this is the highest-priced Raikou we list, offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥264,600 (~$1,718) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms.
The card belongs to the e-series. Our e-series guide explains the series: only e1 to e5 carry the dot-code strip, the Card e Reader launched in Japan on Saturday, December 1, 2001, and e1 was released the same day. Our Raikou 162/103 guide describes the e4 card as an older e-Series 1st Edition print.
What we cannot tell you about this print is stated openly: the illustrator and the rarity of the e4 Raikou are not given in our sources, and the card is not in the official database, which starts at a later era. The listing name carries the 1ED mark and the 039/088 number, and those two details are what to match against a slab label.
Raikou EX BW4: the 071/069 SR and the 025/069 Base
The second listing is the secret-numbered 071/069 from Dark Rush (BW4), listed with the SR letters and the :1ED mark in our listing name. As of October 29, 2026 it is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥148,720 (~$966) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms.

The official database holds the base card from the same set, BW4-B 025/069, credited to shizurow. It is Basic, HP 170, with two attacks.
| Printed name | Effect, rendered |
|---|---|
| かみなりのキバ 30 | Flip a coin; if heads, the opponent’s Active Pokémon is Paralyzed. (rendering) |
| ボルテージアロー | Discard all Energy attached to this Pokémon; 100 damage to 1 of the opponent’s Pokémon, with Bench damage not applying weakness or resistance. |

Dark Rush was released on Friday, December 16, 2011 according to our Entei guide, which gives that date for the same set. The 071/069 in our listing is a different print from the 025/069 in the database: the number is above the set count of 069, which is how secret-numbered prints are marked. The official database lists only the 025/069 row, so no illustrator is stated for the 071/069 print.
Raikou V SAR 218/172
The third listing is the secret-numbered V print from VSTAR Universe (s12a). Its listing name carries the SAR letters, and as of October 29, 2026 it is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥18,574 (~$121) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms.

The database credits nagimiso, with HP 200 and the Basic stage. The card text, rendered: the ability しゅんそく lets you draw 1 card once during your turn if this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, and the attack ライトニングロンド does 20 damage plus 20 more for each Benched Pokémon on both sides. As a V, a knock-out gives the opponent 2 Prize cards. That text is shared by the regular S12a 038/172 (PLANETA Mochizuki), by the two database entries for SI 137/414 (also PLANETA Mochizuki) and by this secret-numbered print, which differ in number and artist credit, not in text.
We do not list the three non-SAR entries. The PSA 10 side of the V is covered in our Raikou V PSA 10 guide.
The Raikou ex in Storm Emeralda (M6)
Storm Emeralda (M6) is the set of the Raikou ex. The database lists three ex entries: 024/076 and two numbers above the set count, 092/076 and 108/076. All three are Basic, HP 200, and credit aky CG Works for the first two and Oku for 108/076. Our earlier legendary beasts guide gives the 024/076 as an RR released on Friday, July 31, 2026, and Bulbapedia is reported to list the other two as an SR (092/076) and an SAR (108/076).

The three share this rendering: the attack いかずちをまとう can be used on a first player’s first turn and attaches 1 Energy from your deck to this Pokémon, then you shuffle; パワーラッシュ does 200 damage, and on tails it cannot attack next turn. As an ex, a knock-out gives the opponent 2 Prize cards.
We do not list any of the three single cards. What we list for this set is the sealed box.
The set code M6 has its own listing page, the M6 Storm Emeralda card list, and a full set guide in the Storm Emeralda complete guide.
Raikou Prints We Do Not List, Era by Era
For every row below the answer is the same: not listed; sourcing requests go through Quick Order. The table gives the print, who is credited where a source names one, and nothing else.
| Era and print | Illustrator credit | What our sources say | Our listing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Neo Revelation (Awakening Legends, Thursday, November 23, 2000): Raikou #13/64 Holo, #22/64 | Ken Sugimori | English numbering; HP 80, Lightning; no Japanese numbers in our sources | Not listed |
| neo Premium File 3 (also November 23, 2000) | Not stated | Raikou is among the nine cards; its number is not given | Not listed |
| Golden Sky, Silvery Ocean (Friday, April 8, 2005): Raikou★ JP 039/106 | Masakazu Fukuda | HP 80; part of the Gold Star trio | Not listed |
| DP3 DPBP#293 | Ryo Ueda | Database row, HP 80 | Not listed |
| Reviving Legends (Thursday, February 11, 2010): Entei & Raikou LEGEND 063–064/080; Raikou & Suicune LEGEND 067–068/080 | Shinji Higuchi | Two-card LEGEND pairs, HP 140 and 160 | Not listed |
| XY 033/171 and XY8-Br 026/059 | Shin Nagasawa | Database rows, HP 120 | Not listed |
| SM3p 033/072, SMH 035/131, SM8b 034/150 | Mitsuhiro Arita | Database rows, HP 120 | Not listed |
| SM8 037/095 and SM12a 044/173 | Kagemaru Himeno; nagimiso | Database rows, HP 120 | Not listed |
| M1S 030/063 | Takumi Wada | Database row, HP 120 | Not listed |
The Arita rows are the subject of our Mitsuhiro Arita Raikou guide. Cards from before the database era, the first three rows, are recorded in our earlier guides only; this guide does not add a number or an illustrator that those guides do not state.

Amazing Rare and the Classic Collection Reprint
Two further Raikou prints share one illustrator, Hideki Ishikawa, and one attack. The S3a 015/076 is the Amazing Rare from Legendary Heartbeat, released Friday, July 10, 2020; Raikou is the only beast among the nine Amazing Rares, per our Amazing Rare guide. The M6a 162/103 is the Classic Collection print in the 30th CELEBRATION set, released Wednesday, September 16, 2026, and it is covered in the Raikou 162/103 guide.
Both rows read HP 110 and the attack アメイジングシュート (120 damage, and 120 damage also to 1 of the opponent’s Benched Pokémon, with Bench damage not applying weakness or resistance; rendering). We do not list either single. The sealed product for the 162/103 print is the 30th CELEBRATION booster box, currently listed as Sealed ¥23,750 (~$154) / No Shrink ¥23,021 (~$149), and its listing page is the M6a card list.
What a Listed Price Can and Cannot Tell You
A listed price tells you three things: what we ask for the item as of a date, what format it is in (a PSA 10 back order, a sealed box), and where the product page is. It does not tell you what any buyer elsewhere paid, and it does not say what the price will be on another day.
| Question | What the listing price answers |
|---|---|
| Which of our Raikou listings is highest on October 29, 2026? | The e4 039/088 1st Edition back order |
| Is a higher price a rarer card? | Not answered by a price; no rarity claim is made here |
| Will a price rise or fall? | Not answered; no forecast is given |
| Is a print we do not list worth more or less? | Not answered; there is no price for it in this guide |
Before relying on any Raikou price, match the number first. An e4 039/088 and a BW4 071/069 are different cards from the Raikou V 218/172, from the base Raikou EX 025/069 and from the Raikou ex 024/076, and the same character appears under every one of those names. The number above the set count marks the secret-numbered prints; the 1ED mark in our listing names marks a 1st Edition copy.
Why Raikou Is in the News
On October 29, 2026 fan sites reported a Japanese trademark filing for 「イナズマの衝撃」 (working English translation: Lightning Impact; no official English name exists), which collectors read as a possible Raikou set; nothing is announced. Our Raikou trademark guide explains what is confirmed and what is not.
The round-up of the 2027 trademark reports covers all four names.
