What Makes This Set Special
Battle Region introduced Radiant Pokemon (かがやくポケモン, marked with a “K” in Japanese notation) as a new card type — a rule-box mechanic limited to one copy per deck, debuting here with Radiant Heatran (011/067) and Radiant Greninja (026/067).
The base set also carries six Pokemon V cards in the RR slot — Virizion V, Starmie V, and the three Hisuian-form V cards (Typhlosion, Decidueye, Samurott) alongside Garchomp V — plus three matching VSTAR cards for the Hisuian trio. Several Pokemon from Legends: Arceus made their trading-card debut in this set, including Wyrdeer, Kleavor, and Hisuian Basculegion.

The story behind the CSR pair is a slow build. According to Japanese market-tracking coverage of the set, Battle Region wasn’t a hot set at release. The two CSR Trainer-support V cards, both illustrated in the same character-art style, picked up sustained demand years after the fact as that art style became more collected. Starmie V CSR in particular has pulled well ahead of everything else in the set.
