#1: Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex UR (SV10 130/098)
Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex (ロケット团のミュウツーex) is the marquee card from 援張パック「ロケット团の昌光」 (EN: “Glory of Team Rocket”), set code SV10, released April 18, 2025. The set prints this card twice: a base RR at 039/098, and an Ultra Rare alt-art at 130/098 — numbered above the 098-card base set, the standard convention for a set’s top chase print. It’s a Basic Psychic-type Pokemon, 280 HP, whose Ability and attack are built around the set’s Team Rocket synergy theme rather than as a standalone attacker.
The UR (130/098) raw copy is currently asking around ¥8,500. Graded PSA 10 copies sit in a tighter band: ¥25,500 / ¥26,500 / ¥30,000 / ¥31,000, with one outlier listing near ¥60,000 we’re treating as noise rather than the going rate. #2: Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex Promo (043/M-P)
A second, separate Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex exists as promo card 043/M-P, part of the new MEGA-era promo pool. This is not a set pull — it was distributed as a victory prize at Champions League 2026 Yokohama to players who reached four or more match wins (“勻利谓１”), per the official Champions League prize announcement. There is no retail sale channel and, as of this writing, no announced plan to reissue it.

Because it shares a name and illustration family with the SV10 print above but comes from a different distribution channel (tournament prize versus booster pack), the two cards are tracked separately. If a listing just says “Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex” without a number, check for “M-P” before assuming it’s the SV10 version.
#3: Mewtwo & Mew GX (SM12a 052/173 & 222/173)
Mewtwo & Mew GX (ミュウツー&ミュウGX) comes from ハイクラスパック「タッグオールスターズ「 (Tag All Stars), set code SM12a. The base RR print is at 052/173; the set also carries a UR alt-art at 222/173. A Basic Psychic-type Tag Team with 270 HP, illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita, its Ability “Perfection” borrows any GX or EX attack from a Pokemon on your Bench or Discard pile — and like every Tag Team GX, a knockout hands the opponent 3 Prize cards instead of the usual one.
Searching “Mewtwo & Mew GX” can also surface a separate, earlier print — card 029/094 from 援張パック「ミラクルツイン「 (Miracle Twin). Same name, different set. Some older summaries also place it inside SM9 タッグボルト (Tag Bolt) — that set’s own card list doesn’t actually contain it, so treat an SM9 listing as a mislabel.

#4: Mewtwo GX, Detective Pikachu Movie Pack (SMP2 017/024)
Solo Mewtwo GX (ミュウツーGX) — no Mew, no Tag Team — comes from ムービースペシャルパック「名探候ピカチュウ「 (Movie Special Pack “Detective Pikachu”), set code SMP2, card number 017/024, rarity RR — the tie-in set for the 2019 live-action Pokemon film, confirmed directly against the official card database. A companion jumbo-size promo was reportedly bundled with a jumbo card pack for the same movie release, though that bundle date comes from a retailer listing rather than an official source.

#5: Mewtwo VSTAR (S10b & S12a)
Mewtwo VSTAR (ミュウツーVSTAR) originally printed in 强化援張パック「Pokémon GO「, set code S10b (2022), at card number 031/071, with a UR variant at 091/071. HP 280, illustrated by PLANETA Mochizuki. It later got a second life as a 221/172 SAR (Special Art Rare) reprint in メダルパック「VSTARユニバース「 (VSTAR Universe), set code S12a, released December 2, 2022 — per secondary sourcing on that date.
The SAR reprint’s VSTAR Power “スターレイド” (Star Raid) hits every opposing Pokemon V for 120, ignoring Weakness and Resistance, with the standard VSTAR tradeoff of giving up 2 Prize cards on knockout. We don’t have confirmed secondary-market pricing for either VSTAR print, so it’s ranked here on set context and reprint status rather than an ask-price cluster.
#6: Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex, Base Print (SV10 039/098)
The other half of the SV10 pairing: the RR-tier 039/098 print, same card name and Ability/attack text as the 130/098 UR at #1, minus the alt-art treatment. It’s the more accessible entry point if you want the card without chasing the alt-art number. English availability for this specific print has not been separately confirmed, so treat it as JPN-only until cross-checked.
#7: Armored Mewtwo (Movie Theater Promo)
Armored Mewtwo (アーマードミュウツー) is confirmed as an official promo entry in the Pokemon card database, distributed exclusively through Japanese movie theaters showing 創場版ポケットモンスター ミュウツーの退袷 EVOLUTION (Mewtwo Strikes Back — Evolution), with reportedly no reprint or wider redistribution since. We confirmed the card’s existence and movie-promo context, but not its exact card number or rarity symbol from the source captured here — verify the printed number on any copy before assuming it matches another variant.
#8: Mega Mewtwo EX (2015 Blue Shock, 026/059)
Mega Mewtwo EX (メガミュウツーEX) is a 2015 card from XY BREAK 援張パック「青い術撃「 (EN: “Blue Shock”), card number 026/059, rarity RR, illustrated by 5ban Graphics, confirmed directly against the official card database. It uses the old “Mega Evolution” mechanic from the XY era — a different game system entirely from the “メガシンカex” (Mega Evolution ex) mechanic the new 2025–26 “Pokémon Card Game MEGA” series introduced. Collectors sometimes assume this 2015 card is the same thing as a new-series Mega Mewtwo ex — it isn’t, and the myths section below covers what we could confirm about that newer card.
#9–10: The 151 Reprint and the 1996 Original
Two more Mewtwo prints round out the confirmed list, both without current pricing data available for this piece:
The SV2a 183/165 print is the plain, non-ex Mewtwo — an AR (Art Rare) — from 強化援張パック「ポケモンカード151「 (2023). The 1st Expansion Pack print at 050/096 dates to October 20, 1996, the release month of Japan’s very first Pokemon TCG expansion — direct ancestor of the English “Base Set,” which followed in January 1999 with a different card pool and numbering. Both are genuine collector pieces on scarcity and historical grounds even without a fresh ask-price figure here.
Two Mewtwo Cards That Don’t Exist (Yet)
Two Mewtwo cards get searched for constantly and don’t hold up to verification:
- “Mewtwo ex SAR in the 151 set.” SV2a has no Mewtwo ex, SAR or otherwise. That set’s SAR-rarity Legendary is Mew ex (205/165) — a different Pokemon. SV2a’s actual Mewtwo is the non-ex AR at 183/165, covered above.
- “Mega Mewtwo ex” in the new 2025–26 MEGA series. We checked the card lists for MEGAドリームex (M2a), ムニキスゼロ (M3), アビスアイ (M5), and ストームエメラルダ (M6) — no Mega Mewtwo ex appears in any of them. Treat any listing for one as unverified until it matches an official set list.
We also found no evidence for a Japanese “Shiny Mewtwo” single card or a “Mewtwo LEGEND” split card — neither resolves to an actual confirmed product.
PSA 10 vs Raw: Is Grading Worth It for Mewtwo?
The pricing pattern at the top of this list — an ¥8,500 raw ask against a ¥25,500–31,000 PSA 10 cluster for the same card — is roughly a 3x spread between raw and gem-mint graded, in line with other current chase prints.
