The card carried over into English in Japan’s international counterpart set: Mega Evolution — Pitch Black, released July 17, 2026 as an 84-card base set with 36 secret cards. Mega Darkrai ex sits at 048/084 (regular), with secret prints at 101/084 (UR), 116/084 (SIR), and 120/084 (HR). Pitch Black’s two headline chase cards are Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Zeraora ex (027/084, with secrets at 098/084 UR and 114/084 SIR).
In practice, the Japanese Abyss Eye release fed directly into the English Pitch Black set two months later — if you’re after the artwork rather than a specific regional print, either set gets you the same new card. The MUR is the current price ceiling on the Japanese side at ¥40,000, with the SAR the more attainable secret at ¥23,681; the base SR and RR sit at a modest ¥1,000 each.

The GX Era: Darkrai GX SSR & Umbreon & Darkrai GX
Before the Mega era, Darkrai’s biggest modern chase cards came from the GX generation. Japan’s GX Ultra Shiny high-class pack (SM8b, released November 2, 2018, 250 base cards) used SSR as its dedicated rarity for shiny GX cards, and Darkrai GX SSR, 230/150 is the shiny-colored print from that block.
