Search “Miriam SIR” and you’ll find plenty of English-card listings, but no Japanese card actually carries that label. SIR is an English-set rarity code. In the Japanese Pokemon TCG, the card people mean when they type “Miriam SIR” goes by a different name — and it’s one of three Japanese Miriam prints in the official card database.
Miriam (ミモザ, Mimoza) debuted in January 2023 in Violet ex (SV1V), one of the two sets that launched the Japanese Scarlet & Violet era, alongside Arven. We source Japanese sealed product and singles out of Tokyo.
The card most people mean by “Miriam SIR” is Miriam SAR, SV1V 105/078 — the Japanese special-art rare that corresponds to the English SIR print, per Limitless TCG. SIR (Special Illustration Rare) is an English-set rarity code; SAR (Special Art Rare) is its Japanese-market counterpart, and they are not literally the same printing. The SV1V Violet ex Booster Box, Sealed option currently listed at ¥11,401 (~$74) is the set’s sealed product. The SAR (105/078) is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥51,803 (~$336); the base U print is sourced on request through Quick Order.
- Miriam SIR is the English print; per Limitless TCG its Japanese counterpart is Miriam SAR, SV1V 105/078. The Japanese prints are U 077/078, SR 100/078 and SAR 105/078.
- Cards from the set are on our Violet ex (SV1V) card list, and other Japanese sets are on the Japanese TCG card lists.
- The database labels 100/078 SR (Super Rare); Limitless TCG labels the same print Secret Rare.

Every Miriam Print in the Japanese TCG
Miriam is a support card — her effect returns up to five Pokemon from your discard pile to your deck, and if you did, you draw three cards. The three Japanese printings:
| Card | Number | Rarity | Set | Year | Illustrator |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Miriam | SV1V 077/078 | U | Violet ex | 2023 | Sanosuke Sakuma |
| Miriam | SV1V 100/078 | SR | Violet ex | 2023 | Sanosuke Sakuma |
| Miriam | SV1V 105/078 | SAR | Violet ex | 2023 | Akira Komayama |
Arven, printed alongside Miriam in the same SV1V set, was reprinted later in Shiny Treasure ex (SV4a) with a new SAR illustration. A U, an SR, and an SAR of the same card can look similar enough in a binder to mix up.
The Base Print: Miriam U 077/078

Miriam’s uncommon print (077/078) is the standard card frame — illustration boxed within a normal border, no full-bleed art, no alternate treatment. Its effect — returning up to five Pokemon from the discard pile to the deck and drawing three cards if you did — is a late-game recovery and refill effect.
Illustrator Sanosuke Sakuma also drew the SR print, so the two share an art style even though the SR reworks the layout into a full-art frame. If you’re comparing the U against the SR side by side, the artwork itself is the same base composition — the difference is entirely in how much of the card the illustration is allowed to cover.
The Full Art SR: Miriam 100/078

The SR print (100/078) takes the same Sanosuke Sakuma artwork and expands it into a full-art frame — the illustration runs edge to edge instead of sitting inside a bordered box. The official card database lists this print as SR (Super Rare). Limitless TCG labels it Secret Rare, which is how English-language card databases categorize the Japanese SR tier, so a “Secret Rare” attached to a Japanese SV1V card describes this same tier rather than a separate, rarer print.
The U and SR share the same illustration, just different framing — a bordered box on the U versus edge-to-edge art on the SR. The SAR is a completely different illustration, not just a bigger version of this one.
A PSA 10 copy of the SR print is offered as a back order at ¥19,020 (~$124).
Miriam SIR (English) and Miriam SAR SV1V 105/078 (Japanese)

This is the Japanese print behind the “Miriam SIR” search term. SIR stands for Special Illustration Rare, the rarity code used on English-language Scarlet & Violet cards for a full-scene alternate-art treatment. The Japanese card game uses a different code for the equivalent tier — SAR, Special Art Rare. Per Limitless TCG, the English Miriam is Scarlet & Violet (SVI) #251, illustrated by Akira Komayama, and Limitless lists SV1V #105 among its Japanese prints; the official card database credits the Japanese SAR (105/078) to the same illustrator, Akira Komayama. English and Japanese Scarlet & Violet sets aren’t the same physical printings, but when someone searches “Miriam SIR” expecting the alternate-art version of this card, the Japanese-market answer is the SAR.
The SAR’s illustration is a separate scene from both the U and SR — Komayama’s artwork, rather than a reframed version of Sakuma’s. That’s the tell if you’re trying to identify one at a glance: SAR is a different picture, not just a different border. For a broader look at how this rarity tier works across other Japanese sets, see our Japanese alt art SAR cards guide, and for other supports graded PSA 10, our PSA 10 Japanese trainer cards guide.
A PSA 10 copy of the SAR print is offered as a back order at ¥51,803 (~$336).
All Three Miriam Prints Are From Violet ex (SV1V)
Every Miriam print traces back to the same month: January 2023, Violet ex. The official card database lists no promo, Deck Build Box or later-set print of Miriam — unlike Arven, who got a second SAR treatment in Shiny Treasure ex (SV4a) later that year.
Check the set code and number on any Miriam listing: the SR is SV1V 100/078 and the SAR is SV1V 105/078.

Sourcing Miriam Cards from Japan
Sealed Violet ex booster boxes are the direct route to chasing any of the three prints, alongside the rest of the set’s supports (including Arven, shown for comparison).
The SR (100/078) and SAR (105/078) prints are offered as PSA 10 back orders — sourced to order; the product pages show the current terms (how PSA 10 back orders work). Sourcing requests for the base U print (077/078) go through Quick Order.
The alternative, if you’re not fixed on a specific print, is the sealed box, which carries the rest of the set’s lineup, including Arven’s own U/SR/SAR run.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does “Miriam SIR” mean?
SIR (Special Illustration Rare) is a rarity code used on English-language Scarlet & Violet cards for a full-scene alternate-art print. The Japanese card game uses a different code, SAR (Special Art Rare), for the equivalent tier. Per Limitless TCG, Miriam’s Japanese SAR (SV1V 105/078) is the counterpart to the English Miriam SIR print (SVI #251), and it’s the card most “Miriam SIR” searches are actually looking for.
How many Japanese Miriam Pokemon cards are there?
Three: a U (SV1V 077/078), an SR full art (SV1V 100/078), and an SAR (SV1V 105/078). All three come from the same set, Violet ex, released in January 2023, and the official card database lists no later Miriam print.
What set code does a Japanese Miriam SR or SAR carry?
SV1V, the code for Violet ex, the Japanese set released in January 2023. The SR carries SV1V 100/078 and the SAR carries SV1V 105/078, so check the set code and the number together before buying or comparing prices, especially when a listing only says “Miriam SAR” or “Miriam SIR.”
What’s the visual difference between Miriam’s SR and SAR?
The SR (100/078) is a full-art expansion of the same Sanosuke Sakuma illustration used on the base U print — same picture, edge-to-edge framing. The SAR (105/078) is a separate illustration entirely, drawn by Akira Komayama. If the artwork looks like a different scene rather than a bigger version of the U, you’re looking at the SAR.
Where can I buy Japanese Miriam cards?
We ship from Tokyo. The SR and SAR are offered as PSA 10 back orders: SR (100/078) at ¥19,020 (about $124) and SAR (105/078) at ¥51,803 (about $336). The SV1V Violet ex Booster Box has a Sealed option currently listed at ¥11,401 (about $74), and sourcing requests for the base U print go through Quick Order.
