Both regular-print credits match the Japanese card database exactly. Japan adds a third form, Galarian Meowth (080/103, AR 117/103), that the English reveal article doesn’t cover. The Official Pokemon.com Reveal (August 8, 2026)
Pokemon.com’s news post, timed to International Cat Day, put it this way: “Meowth is starring in the upcoming Pokémon TCG expansion, 30th Celebration, in one form familiar in the Kanto region and another known in Alola—with day-and-night-themed aesthetics to complement their appearances.” The article credits four cards by name:
- Alolan Meowth (regular) — “enjoying an evening stroll,” illustrated by Natsumi Yoshida.
- Alolan Meowth (Illustration Rare) — “prances around in the dead of night,” illustrated by OKUBO.
- Meowth (regular) — “the most peaceful catnap on a bright sunny day,” illustrated by MINAMINAMI Take.
- Meowth (Illustration Rare) — “doubling down on its purr-fect slumber in an urban setting,” also illustrated by OKUBO.
Pokemon.com doesn’t print card numbers, HP or attack text in this article — it’s a reveal post, not a card-database entry. Per PokeBeach’s reveal-image numbering from the same day, the English cards are Meowth #113, Meowth Illustration Rare #144, Alolan Meowth #089 and Alolan Meowth Illustration Rare #139.
The Japanese Cards
The official Japanese card database credits Meowth’s regular print, 092/103, to MINAMINAMI Take — matching pokemon.com’s English credit for the same artwork exactly. Meowth is a Colorless Basic Pokemon, HP60, with a single attack: [C][C] Pay Day, 30 damage plus a card draw. Its Art Rare version is 120/103; AR illustrators are unpublished in the official database, so pokemon.com’s OKUBO credit applies to the English Illustration Rare only. The AR/SAR/FUR block 104–135 is compiled from official images and PokeBeach’s September 9 list — all 32 secret rares have now been seen, but the block is still not in the official card database.
Alolan Meowth’s regular print, 075/103, is credited to Natsumi Yoshida — again matching pokemon.com’s English credit for the same artwork. It’s a Darkness-type Basic, HP60, with [.] Pay Day for 10 damage plus a card draw, weak to Grass. Its Art Rare is 115/103, same unpublished-illustrator caveat as above. The Day/Night Pairing
The clearest day/night detail comes from a fan-compiled source rather than pokemon.com itself: Bill’s Archive (fetched September 11, 2026) describes the two Illustration Rares as a matched pair — “Alolan Meowth (#139) and Meowth (#144) are both illustrated by OKUBO, and both show the same apartment block: #139 at night, lit windows and stars behind the fire escape, and #144 in daylight with washing on the line. Set them side by side and they read as one location at two times of day.” This is a fan-compiled illustrator attribution, consistent with (not contradicted by) pokemon.com’s own OKUBO credit for both English Illustration Rares, but the specific “same apartment block” detail is Bill’s Archive’s own description rather than an official pokemon.com statement.
Note that pokemon.com’s own reveal article covers only two regional forms, Meowth and Alolan Meowth — not three. The Japanese set’s third form, Galarian Meowth, isn’t part of that August 8 article at all.
Galarian Meowth: The Third Form
The Japanese set completes the trio with Galarian Meowth, 080/103, illustrated by Mékayu. It’s a Metal-type Basic, HP70, with two attacks: [C] Pay Day for 10 damage plus a card draw, and [M] Treasure Rush for 10 damage per card in hand. Its Art Rare is 117/103. This is a Japanese-database-only credit — no English source in this compilation names an illustrator for Galarian Meowth’s English Secret Rare counterpart, and no confirmed number pairing between the Japanese and English printings of Galarian Meowth’s AR has been located.

The regular-print credits line up exactly between the two languages for Meowth and Alolan Meowth — the same artwork, credited to the same illustrator, in both the Japanese database and pokemon.com’s official English post. The Illustration Rare credit (OKUBO) is an English-card credit pokemon.com states directly; it does not appear in the Japanese database, where AR illustrators remain unpublished.
