Pokemon Mega Lucario ex Figure Collection vs Japanese Mega Brave Box

What the Official Page Lists for the Mega Lucario ex Figure Collection

The page is titled “Pokémon TCG: Mega Lucario ex Figure Collection” in the pokemon.com product gallery. It states “Launch: November 07, 2025” and opens its description with the card’s role: “Mega Lucario ex is ready to pummel opponents into submission, all while supporting allies by sharing discarded Energy with Benched Pokémon.” It continues: “Harness the Aura Pokémon’s massive power with a playable foil promo card paired with an oversize promo card and a detailed figure showing off Mega Lucario in action. There’s no shortage of powerful Pokémon allies ready to be liberated from booster packs.”

The Promo Card: Mega Lucario ex MEP 012 and What It Does

Limitless TCG catalogues the promo as Mega Lucario ex, Mega Promos (MEP) #12, credited to 5ban Graphics, a Fighting Stage 1 with 340 HP that evolves from Riolu, with Psychic weakness and a retreat cost of 2. A second entry, MEP #33, carries the same stats and prints. Bulbapedia’s card page, which reported both promo numbers as 5ban Graphics prints, folds MEP Promo 12 and MEP Promo 33 into one page for Mega Lucario ex (Mega Evolution 77).

The Japanese card text, identical on all six Japanese prints in the official database, shows what the English description means by sharing Energy. The first attack, はどうづき, costs one Fighting Energy for 130 damage and reads 「自分のトラッシュから「基本[闘]エネルギー」を3枚まで選び、ベンチポケモンに好きなようにつける。」, which attaches up to three basic Fighting Energy cards from the trash to Benched Pokémon in any split. The second attack, メガブレイブ, costs two Fighting Energy for 270 damage and reads 「次の自分の番、このポケモンは「メガブレイブ」が使えない。」, so the card cannot use that attack on the next turn. The special rule 「メガシンカexがきぜつしたとき、相手はサイドを3枚とる。」 gives the opponent 3 Prize cards when it is knocked out.

The second attack shares its name with the Japanese set, メガブレイブ.

Mega Brave, MEGA Dream ex and the Figure Collection Compared

The official Japanese page for the Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia pair prints the Mega Brave details as 希望小売価格：180円（税込）, 内容物：カード5枚入り and 発売日：2025年8月1日（金）, with a note that the cards are packed randomly. That is ¥180 (~$1) per 5-card pack. Limitless TCG lists Mega Brave (M1L), 1st August 2025, with 92 cards, and the official database prints a “/063” denominator on the set’s cards.

From the Japanese release on August 1, 2025 to the Figure Collection launch on November 07, 2025 is 98 days, and the English Mega Evolution set launched on September 26, 2025, 42 days before the Figure Collection. The M2a MEGA Dream ex set appears in the official database with a “/193” denominator on its Mega Lucario ex cards, and the store titles it as a High Class Pack.

The structural difference is the contents. The Figure Collection is a collector’s kit of two promos, a figure and five English booster packs, while a Japanese Mega Brave box is made of packs from a single set. The set itself is covered in the Mega Brave M1L complete guide and the Mega Brave booster box buying guide.

The Japanese Boxes Behind the Prints

The box tied to the promo pairing is the M2A-Mega Dream ex Japanese Pokemon Booster Box – Damaged Box (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order), offered at ¥11,977 (~$78) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order). For the first Japanese print of the card, the M1L-Mega Brave Japanese Pokemon Booster Box – Damaged Box (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) is offered at ¥7,593 (~$49) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order). A Damaged Box is a separate product from a sealed box, and the official Japanese page says cards are packed randomly, so no box can be tied to a particular print.

The Mega Brave Pokemon Center Set has its own product page. We do not list the English Figure Collection, the MEP 012 promo card or the M2a 092/193 RR as single cards.
