Entei V, Raikou V and Suicune V each have a secret-numbered print in VSTAR Universe (S12a): エンテイV 213/172, ライコウV 218/172 and スイクンV 215/172. If you have been searching for “Suicune V Crown Zenith” or “Entei V Crown Zenith” and landed on the Japanese side of the story, these three cards are the Japanese prints of the same names. This guide sets them next to each other: who illustrated each one, what the printed card text says, where else each Pokémon appears in the same set, and how the three are listed in our store.
We sell Japanese sealed product and graded singles from Tokyo. USD figures convert at ¥154/USD, approximate, and every yen figure for our own products links to its product page.
- The official Japanese card database lists three different illustrators for the three secret-numbered V prints: Shigenori Negishi (Entei V 213/172), nagimiso (Raikou V 218/172) and Atsushi Furusawa (Suicune V 215/172).
- All three are offered as PSA 10 back orders (sourced to order): Entei ¥15,525 (~$101), Raikou (price in the table below) and Suicune ¥18,620 (~$121). Each product page shows the current terms.
- Each V also has a regular numbered print in the same set (019/172, 038/172, 024/172) and a Start Deck 100 print (SI), so the number over the denominator is what tells them apart.
The Three Cards at a Glance
The official database on pokemon-card.com prints the following for the three secret-numbered V cards. It does not print rarity letters, so the table describes each card by its number; the “SAR” in the last column is how our own listing names the card.
| Card | Number | Illustrator | HP | Our listing (PSA 10 back order) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| エンテイV (Entei V) | S12a 213/172 | Shigenori Negishi | 230 | PSA10 Entei V SAR [s12a 213/172] at ¥15,525 (~$101) |
| ライコウV (Raikou V) | S12a 218/172 | nagimiso | 200 | PSA10 Raikou V SAR [s12a 218/172] at ¥18,574 (~$121) |
| スイクンV (Suicune V) | S12a 215/172 | Atsushi Furusawa | 210 | PSA10 Suicune V SAR [s12a 215/172] at ¥18,620 (~$121) |
Each number sits above the set’s printed count of 172, which is how the database marks a secret or special print. The back-order wording matters: these three are offered as PSA 10 back orders, sourced to order, and each product page shows the current terms. All three are listed as back orders, so the buying section below shows a sealed product we list alongside them.
On our listed prices on October 29, 2026, the order from lowest to highest is Entei, Raikou, Suicune. The gap between the Suicune and Raikou back orders is ¥46, and the Entei back order sits ¥3,095 below the Suicune one. These are our listed back-order prices, not a measure of what the cards are worth elsewhere.
VSTAR Universe (S12a): The One Set Behind All Three
All three cards come from the High Class Pack “VSTAR Universe”, set code S12a, released in Japan on Friday, December 2, 2022 (as stated in our legendary beasts guide). It is the set our store listings call “VSTAR Universe”, and its listing page is the place to browse the rest of the set: the S12a VSTAR Universe card list.
Because all three Vs share a set, the comparison is cleaner than most. The Pokémon differ, the illustrators differ, and the printed text follows one pattern across the trio, but the set, the card frame family and the numbering scheme are the same. That puts the S12a trio in one product, which makes it possible to compare how three artists approached the three legendary beasts within one set.
| Pokémon | Regular print in S12a | Regular print illustrator | Secret-numbered print | Secret-numbered illustrator |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Entei V | 019/172 | PLANETA Mochizuki | 213/172 | Shigenori Negishi |
| Raikou V | 038/172 | PLANETA Mochizuki | 218/172 | nagimiso |
| Suicune V | 024/172 | Ayaka Yoshida | 215/172 | Atsushi Furusawa |
The regular prints and the secret-numbered prints therefore carry different credits for each Pokémon, so the secret-numbered artwork is not a recolour of the regular card. The regular 038/172 for Raikou V shares its illustrator credit with the regular Entei V, while the Suicune V regular credits Ayaka Yoshida.
Entei V 213/172: Shigenori Negishi

The database entry for エンテイV 213/172 gives 230 HP and the illustrator credit Shigenori Negishi. The printed card text, rendered into English (rendering): the Ability しゅんそく can be used once during your turn if this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, and lets you draw 1 card from your deck. The attack バーニングロンド does 20 damage, plus 20 more for each Benched Pokémon on both sides. The V rule line says that when a Pokémon V is Knocked Out, the opponent takes 2 Prize cards.
Our listing for this print is named “PSA10 Entei V SAR [s12a 213/172]”, and it is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥15,525 (~$101) — sourced to order; the product page shows the current terms. For the single-card deep dive, including the regular 019/172 and the two Start Deck 100 entries, see our Entei V PSA 10 guide and the comparison with the English print in Entei V GG36 vs the Japanese 213/172.

Raikou V 218/172: nagimiso

The entry for ライコウV 218/172 gives 200 HP and the credit nagimiso. Its printed text (rendering) uses the same Ability, しゅんそく: once during your turn, if this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, draw 1 card. The attack is ライトニングロンド, 20 damage plus 20 more for each Benched Pokémon on both sides. The same V rule line applies.
The credit connects to a second Raikou card. The database also lists a regular ライコウ, SM12a 044/173, credited to nagimiso, which means the artist behind the Raikou V 218/172 has drawn this Pokémon on more than one card in the official database. We offer the S12a card as a PSA 10 back order at ¥18,574 (~$121), named “PSA10 Raikou V SAR [s12a 218/172]” in our catalogue; it is sourced to order and the product page shows the current terms.

Raikou has a separate Mega-era thread as well: the official database lists Raikou ex 024/076 in Storm Emeralda (M6), credited to aky CG Works. That is a different card in a different set, and our Raikou V PSA 10 guide and M6 card list cover the surrounding picture.
The Storm Emeralda (M6) booster box is the Mega-era set that contains Raikou ex 024/076, which links it to the Raikou ex in this guide; it is a different set from VSTAR Universe.
Suicune V 215/172: Atsushi Furusawa

The entry for スイクンV 215/172 gives 210 HP and the credit Atsushi Furusawa. The printed text (rendering) again opens with the Ability しゅんそく, draw 1 card once during your turn while this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, followed by the attack ブリザードロンド: 20 damage plus 20 more for each Benched Pokémon on both sides, with the same V rule line.
For the artist, see our Atsushi Furusawa artist guide; the Suicune cards across eras sit in the Suicune Japanese cards guide. Our listing, “PSA10 Suicune V SAR [s12a 215/172]”, is a PSA 10 back order at ¥18,620 (~$121), sourced to order, with current terms on the product page.

Same Card Text, Different Artwork
Reading the three database entries side by side shows a shared template. The table below renders each card’s printed text (rendering); only the Pokémon name, HP and attack name differ.
| Field | Entei V 213/172 | Raikou V 218/172 | Suicune V 215/172 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stage | Basic | Basic | Basic |
| HP | 230 | 200 | 210 |
| Ability (printed) | しゅんそく | しゅんそく | しゅんそく |
| Ability effect | Once per turn from the Active Spot, draw 1 card | Once per turn from the Active Spot, draw 1 card | Once per turn from the Active Spot, draw 1 card |
| Attack (printed) | バーニングロンド | ライトニングロンド | ブリザードロンド |
| Attack effect | 20 + 20 per Benched Pokémon on both sides | 20 + 20 per Benched Pokémon on both sides | 20 + 20 per Benched Pokémon on both sides |
| Prize rule | 2 Prize cards when Knocked Out | 2 Prize cards when Knocked Out | 2 Prize cards when Knocked Out |
| Illustrator | Shigenori Negishi | nagimiso | Atsushi Furusawa |
The identical text is a property of these three database entries, not a rule for every V card. What this means for a collector is simple: the shared ability and attack text does not separate the three cards; the documented HP values (230, 200 and 210) and the illustrator credits do, so the choice is one of Pokémon, artist and listing price.
Every V Print of the Trio in the Database
Besides S12a, each V also appears in the Start Deck 100 set (code SI, numbered out of 414). The table lists every V row for the three Pokémon in the official database, so you can place a card from its number.
| Pokémon | Set · number | Illustrator | Database id |
|---|---|---|---|
| エンテイV | S12a 019/172 | PLANETA Mochizuki | 42280 |
| エンテイV | S12a 213/172 | Shigenori Negishi | 42863 |
| エンテイV | SI 056/414 | PLANETA Mochizuki | 40350 and 40546 (two entries, same printed number) |
| ライコウV | S12a 038/172 | PLANETA Mochizuki | 42299 |
| ライコウV | S12a 218/172 | nagimiso | 42868 |
| ライコウV | SI 137/414 | PLANETA Mochizuki | 40379 and 40620 (two entries, same printed number) |
| スイクンV | S12a 024/172 | Ayaka Yoshida | 42285 |
| スイクンV | S12a 215/172 | Atsushi Furusawa | 42865 |
| スイクンV | SI 092/414 | Ayaka Yoshida | 40362 |
| スイクンV | S7D 001/067 | Ayaka Yoshida | 39670 |
| スイクンV | S7D 068/067 | Ayaka Yoshida | 39925 |
Two observations follow from the table. First, Entei and Raikou each show the same pattern of rows in S12a and SI, while Suicune V has two extra rows in S7D, a different set; they are listed because the database holds them, not because they belong to this comparison. Second, only the three secret-numbered S12a cards break the pattern of PLANETA Mochizuki or Ayaka Yoshida credits, which gives a visual check when you are holding an unknown V: a different artist on a number above 172 points to the prints compared here. The Start Deck 100 side of the trio is explained in our Start Deck 100 guide.
The English Names Collectors Search
English-language collectors search with names such as “Entei V GG36”, “Raikou V GG41” and “Suicune V GG38”, and “Crown Zenith”. We use those strings here only as search names: this guide does not compare English card numbers, dates or prices, because none of that is established in the sources behind it.
| Japanese card (database) | English search name |
|---|---|
| エンテイV S12a 213/172 | Entei V GG36 (Crown Zenith) |
| ライコウV S12a 218/172 | Raikou V GG41 (Crown Zenith) |
| スイクンV S12a 215/172 | Suicune V GG38 (Crown Zenith) |
If you are weighing a Japanese slab against an English one, start from the printed number and illustrator credit on the Japanese card (213/172, 218/172, 215/172). Our wider legendary beasts guide sets out the era-by-era picture.
Questions That Decide Which to Choose
No ranking of these cards by quality or by future value is attempted here. What we can lay out are the questions that sort the decision, and the facts from this guide that answer each one.
- Do you collect a Pokémon, an artist or a set? If you follow one Pokémon, the table above gives you the choice directly. If you follow an artist, Atsushi Furusawa (Suicune V), Shigenori Negishi (Entei V) and nagimiso (Raikou V) each have a one-card entry here; nagimiso also has the Raikou SM12a 044/173 card in the database.
- Do you want all three? The three back orders listed together are ¥15,525 (~$101), ¥18,574 (~$121) and ¥18,620 (~$121). Each is sourced separately to order, so the product page for each shows its own current terms.
- Do you want to play the card? The printed text is functionally parallel on all three. The regular numbers (019/172, 038/172, 024/172) carry the same printed text pattern, so the secret-numbered artwork is a collector choice rather than a functional one.
- Do you need a PSA 10 specifically? The three S12a cards here are listed as PSA 10 back orders. If you want a different grade or a raw copy, sourcing requests for a specific card go through Quick Order.
Before you compare artwork, read the number over the denominator. 213/172, 218/172 and 215/172 are the three secret-numbered prints; 019/172, 038/172 and 024/172 are the regular ones.
A Note on the October 29, 2026 Trademark Reports
On October 29, 2026 fan sites reported Japanese trademark filings for 「マグマの鼓動」, 「イナズマの衝撃」 and 「オーロラの波紋」 (working English translations: Magma Heartbeat, Lightning Impact and Aurora Ripples; no official English names exist), which collectors read as possible Entei, Raikou and Suicune sets; nothing is announced. Our hub articles explain what is confirmed and what is not: the Entei hub, the Raikou hub and the Suicune hub, with the overview in Pokémon ex★ 2027 Sets and Trademarks Explained.
Where to Buy the Legendary Beast Cards from Japan

Frequently Asked Questions
Which Entei, Raikou and Suicune cards are the secret-numbered VSTAR Universe prints?
エンテイV 213/172, ライコウV 218/172 and スイクンV 215/172, all in S12a. Each number sits above the set’s printed count of 172, and the official database lists them with HP 230, 200 and 210.
Who illustrated the three S12a secret-numbered cards?
The official database credits Shigenori Negishi for Entei V 213/172, nagimiso for Raikou V 218/172 and Atsushi Furusawa for Suicune V 215/172. The regular prints credit PLANETA Mochizuki (Entei V and Raikou V) and Ayaka Yoshida (Suicune V).
How are the three cards listed in your store?

Is there a Crown Zenith equivalent of each card?
English-language collectors search for these cards as “Entei V GG36”, “Raikou V GG41” and “Suicune V GG38” in Crown Zenith. This guide uses those only as search names and does not compare English card numbers, dates or prices.
Do the regular 019/172, 038/172 and 024/172 prints play differently?
The printed text in the database follows the same pattern as the secret-numbered cards: the Ability しゅんそく draws 1 card once per turn from the Active Spot, and the attack does 20 damage plus 20 for each Benched Pokémon on both sides. The artwork and the illustrator credit differ.
