Genesect EX 155/103: 30th Celebration Classic Collection Reprint Guide

Genesect EX 155/103: 30th Celebration Classic Collection Reprint Guide

Genesect EX 155/103 is one of thirty cards in 30th CELEBRATION’s Classic Collection — a block of specially finished reprints, carrying a “C”-style mark beside the M6a set code, that Pokémon’s own card list labels 特別仕様 (“special specification”). It reissues the 2013 Genesect-EX from the Plasma Blast era, released worldwide alongside the rest of M6a on September 16, 2026.

This guide covers exactly what the 155/103 reprint is, the original English and Japanese print it revives, what’s documented about the card’s Team Plasma tie-in, and what comparable graded Genesect cards are currently listed at or asking. Samurai Sword Tokyo ships Japanese sealed product and singles out of Tokyo, and every price below is a dated, sourced, linked figure.

Key Takeaways

Genesect EX 155/103 reprints the 2013 Genesect-EX from Plasma Blast (regular print 11/101), illustrated by Eske Yoshinob — matching the 30th reprint’s own credited illustrator. It sits in the Classic Collection (136–165) and is not usable under current Standard rules. Graded Genesect prints from other eras are currently listed in our PSA10 collection, including a PSA10 Genesect ex SR (SV11B 164/086) at ¥5,460 (~$35) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order).

Every figure attached to an M6a 30th CELEBRATION card in this guide is either an official set-list fact or a current live listing price — Pokémon has not published pull rates for any 30th CELEBRATION single, and Genesect EX 155/103 does not have a dated marketplace figure of its own in this update.

What Is the Genesect EX 155/103 Reprint?

The official card list for 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) was published on 9 September 2026 and covers the main set 001–103, the Classic Collection 136–165, and the eight Basic Energy. Genesect EX 155/103 sits inside that officially listed Classic Collection block — a run of 30 reprints, numbered 136 through 165, that Pokémon’s card database marks with a “C”-style symbol beside the M6a set code. Per the official caveat that applies to the whole block, Classic Collection cards are not usable under the current Standard regulation; they remain legal only in whatever format the original printing is legal in.

The reprint’s credited illustrator, per the official database, is Eske Yoshinob — the same illustrator credited on the original 2013 regular print. That match is confirmed for the regular print specifically; the 2013 set’s alternate Full Art version used a different illustrator (5ban Graphics), so the 30th reprint’s artwork lines up with the standard 2013 Genesect-EX, not the Full Art chase card.

The Original 2013 Genesect-EX: Print History and Card Text

The card 155/103 reprints is Genesect-EX from Plasma Blast, card 11 of 101, released in English on 14 August 2013. A Full Art print (97/101) also exists from the same era. On the Japanese side, Bulbapedia traces the card to the “Megalo Cannon” expansion, regular print 010/076 and Full Art 078/076.

Attribute Detail
Original print Plasma Blast 11/101 (regular), Rare Holo EX — released 14 Aug 2013
Japanese origin “Megalo Cannon” 010/076 (regular); Full Art 078/076 (Rare Ultra)
Illustrator Eske Yoshinob (regular print) — matches the 30th reprint’s credit
Type / HP Grass / 170 — Basic Pokémon-EX
Ability Red Signal — when you attach a Plasma Energy card from your hand to this Pokémon, you may switch 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokémon with their Active Pokémon
Attack [G][G][C] Megalo Cannon — 100 damage, plus 20 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokémon (no Weakness/Resistance applied to the Benched target)
Weakness Fire (×2)
Retreat cost 1

As a Pokémon-EX, the card carries the era’s standard EX rule: the opponent takes two Prize cards instead of one when it’s Knocked Out. Red Signal is the card’s set-defining ability — it only triggers off “Plasma Energy,” a Trainer-era special Energy card tied specifically to that generation’s Team Plasma storyline, which is also why the original card’s Grass typing and mechanics read as a period piece from the Black & White block.

Why Genesect-EX Is in the Classic Collection

Pokémon’s official communication around the Classic Collection describes the block only as 特別仕様 (“special specification”) treatment; it doesn’t publish a card-by-card rationale for why any individual card was chosen. What we can point to, sourced directly to Bulbapedia’s card notes, is that Genesect-EX’s Red Signal ability is built entirely around Team Plasma’s affiliation — the card only functions as designed when paired with the “Plasma Energy” card unique to that storyline arc, making it one of the more thematically distinctive EX prints of the 2012–2013 Black & White era.

Whatever Pokémon’s internal selection logic was, the practical result is that 155/103 puts a mechanically and thematically distinctive Grass-type EX attacker from the Plasma Blast era back into current packs, in the same special finish as the other 29 Classic Collection cards.

What Graded Genesect Prints Are Currently Listed At

M6a has now released, but there’s still no real sale or graded population to cite for Genesect EX 155/103 itself — Pokémon has not published pull rates. Neither of the graded cards below is the same print as the 2013 original this reprint revives — they’re graded copies of other Genesect cards, shown for context on where the wider graded Genesect market sits:

SNKRDUNK Asking Prices, September 11

SNKRDUNK — a Japanese resale marketplace — showed the following lowest live asking prices for Genesect ex/EX cards as of 11 September 2026 (any condition; asks are seller listings, not sales). A current Scarlet & Violet-era Genesect ex Special Art Rare (SV11B 172/086) asked as little as ¥2,480 (12 listings), and the same set’s regular SR (SV11B 164/086) asked ¥1,500 (4 listings). From the era closer to this reprint’s 2013 origin, a 1st Edition Genesect-EX SR (XY10 083/078) asked ¥60,000 (3 listings), and a Genesect EX SR from the “Megalo Cannon” expansion itself (BW9 078/076) asked ¥23,500 (1 listing — a thin, single-seller price).

None of these figures describe 155/103, and this update does not carry a dated marketplace figure for the M6a Classic Collection reprint itself.
