Mega Gardevoir EX 156/103: 30th Celebration Classic Collection Reprint Guide

Mega Gardevoir EX 156/103: 30th Celebration Classic Collection Reprint Guide

Mega Gardevoir EX 156/103 is one of thirty cards in 30th CELEBRATION’s Classic Collection — a block of specially finished reprints that Pokémon’s own pages label 特別仕様 (“special specification”). This M Gardevoir EX 30th Celebration reprint reissues the XY-era card that the official M6a page captions as a 2014 print from the “Tidal Storm” expansion pack, and it came out with M6a 30th CELEBRATION in Japan on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Samurai Sword Tokyo ships Japanese sealed product and singles out of Tokyo.

Key Takeaways

Mega Gardevoir EX 156/103 reprints the M Gardevoir-EX that the official M6a page captions as a 2014 print from the “Tidal Storm” expansion pack (in English, Primal Clash 106/160, per Bulbapedia), illustrated by 5ban Graphics in the official card database. It sits in the Classic Collection (136–165) and is not usable under current Standard rules. Graded Mega Gardevoir prints from other eras are in our PSA10 collection, including PSA10 M Gardevoir EX 092/171.

What Is the Mega Gardevoir EX 156/103 Reprint?

The official card database lists 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) as the main set 001–103, the Classic Collection 136–165, and eight Basic Energy (as of October 21, 2026). Mega Gardevoir EX 156/103 sits inside that Classic Collection block — a run of 30 reprints, numbered 136 through 165. Per the official caveat that applies to the whole block, Classic Collection cards are not usable under the current Standard regulation; they remain legal only in whatever format the original printing is legal in.

The reprint’s credited illustrator, per the official database, is 5ban Graphics. Bulbapedia credits the original Primal Clash print to 5ban Graphics as well, and the later Generations reprint of this card to a different illustrator (Megumi Mizutani).

The Original M Gardevoir-EX: Print History and Card Text

The card 156/103 reprints is M Gardevoir-EX. The official M6a page captions the original as a 2014 print from the expansion pack “Tidal Storm” (拡張パック「タイダルストーム」). Per Bulbapedia, the English print is Primal Clash 106/160, released 4 February 2015, a Full Art print (156/160) also exists, and the card was separately reprinted in Generations (RC31/RC32) with different shiny artwork; on the Japanese side, Bulbapedia lists “Tidal Storm” regular print 051/070 and a secret rare 076/070.

Attribute Detail
Original print (official M6a page caption) 2014 — 拡張パック「タイダルストーム」
English print (Bulbapedia) Primal Clash 106/160 (regular), Rare Holo EX — released 4 Feb 2015
Japanese prints (Bulbapedia) “Tidal Storm” 051/070 (regular); secret rare 076/070
Illustrator (156/103) 5ban Graphics
Type / HP Fairy / 210 — Mega Evolution Pokémon-EX (evolves from Gardevoir-EX)
Attack Brilliant Arrow — 30 damage times the total Energy attached to your Pokémon in play
Weakness Metal (×2)
Resistance Darkness (−20)
Retreat cost 2

As a Pokémon-EX, the card carries the EX rule printed in the official database: the opponent takes two Prize cards instead of one when it’s Knocked Out. The database lists its stage as Mega Evolution (M進化), with 210 HP; Brilliant Arrow scales with the total Energy on your side of the field, so its damage grows as Energy is attached.

Why M Gardevoir-EX Is in the Classic Collection

The official M6a page describes the block as 30 cards that symbolise the history of the game (「30年の歴史を象徴するカード」), reissued in 特別仕様 (“special specification”) treatment. Per Bulbapedia’s card notes, this same Gardevoir already had a second, separate print run: the Generations reprint (RC31/RC32) used all-new shiny Mega Gardevoir artwork, distinct from the original art.

The practical result is that 156/103 brings a recognisable Mega Evolution attacker from the XY era into M6a, in the same special treatment as the other 29 Classic Collection cards.
