All three prints share the same typing — Fighting — despite crossing three generations of card design, and all three are Basic Restored Pokemon rather than evolved forms. Kabuto itself has never received a Stage 1 or higher print; that treatment belongs to Kabutops. The HP line moved from 80 (XY10) up to 90 (SM9 and SV2a), which tracks the general HP increase most Basic Pokemon received across that span of sets.

The newest Kabuto print comes from the Scarlet & Violet-era enhanced expansion pack Pokemon Card 151 (SV2a), released in Japan in October 2023 — the set built around the original 151 Pokemon. Kabuto sits at 140/165, illustrated by Souichirou Gunjima, at 90 HP and Fighting-type, corresponding to the English Pokemon 151 (MEW) print #140. Tag Bolt (SM9): The Sun & Moon-Era Print
Kabuto also appeared in the Sun & Moon-era expansion pack Tag Bolt (SM9), at card #058, illustrated by sui. It carries the same 90 HP and Fighting typing as the SV2a print, and corresponds to the English Team Up (TEU) print #77.

Awakened Psychic King (XY10): The XY-Era Print
The earliest verified Kabuto print in this guide comes from the XY-era expansion pack Awakened Psychic King (XY10), at card #033, illustrated by MAHOU. It runs 80 HP — ten points lower than the two later prints — and is Fighting-type, corresponding to the English Fates Collide (FCO) print #38.

Chase Prints and What Makes Kabuto Collectible
None of the three verified Kabuto prints sit in a secret-rare or alternate-art slot — Kabuto hasn’t been the chase card in any of the three prints covered here. What separates the prints instead is finish and set context. The SV2a print exists as a Master Ball Mirror foiling, a parallel treatment of the standard 140/165 print, and per our own product title it’s graded Uncommon within Pokemon 151.
