One Piece DON!! Cards Guide: How They Work and Where to Find Rare Printings

What Are DON!! Cards? (Official Rules)

According to the official rule manual, DON!! cards serve two jobs at once. First, they’re currency: “DON!! cards are used to pay the cost of using a card.” Every Character, Event, and Stage card you play has a cost, and that cost is paid by moving DON!! cards from your cost area.

Second, DON!! cards are a power boost you attach directly to a card already in play. The manual is specific about the number: “You can also give them to Character and Leader cards. Character and Leader cards gain 1000 power during your turn per DON!! card attached to them.” Attach two DON!! cards to a Leader and it hits for an extra 2,000 power on your turn — often the difference between an attack that lands and one your opponent can block or counter through.

DON!! cards themselves don’t have a Power stat, a color, or a place in the official cardlist database the way Leaders and Characters do — they’re a resource card, not a battle card, which is also why you won’t find official cardlist image URLs for them the way you would for a numbered Leader or Character. The Wikipedia entry for the game describes them simply as a separate, white-backed resource deck sitting alongside your main 50-card deck.

Leader Cards Powered Up by DON!!

Since Leader cards are on the field for the entire game, they’re usually the first cards to receive attached DON!!. A Leader that starts at 5,000 or 6,000 power can climb well past that once a few DON!! cards are stacked onto it, which is why deckbuilding around DON!! efficiency — how many you can attach and when — matters as much as the Leader’s base stat line. Our Leader cards guide covers how Leader stats and colors work in more depth.

ST30-001 — Luffy & Ace, Leader

ST13-003 — Monkey.D.Luffy, Leader

ST30-001 Luffy & Ace is the Leader from STARTER DECK EX -Luffy & Ace-, a Red-Green Leader at 6,000 power before any DON!! is attached. This is the same Leader behind our PSA10 graded copy in the ST-30 lineup — the deck it comes from ships with a full 10-card DON!! Deck out of the box, same as any other starter product.

ST13-003 Monkey.D.Luffy comes from ULTIMATE DECK -The Three Brothers Bond-, a Black-Yellow Leader at 5,000 power with 4 Life. ULTIMATE DECK products like ST-13 and ST-10 include three separate Leader cards in one box, giving players a choice of which Leader — and which color identity — to build their DON!!-powered deck around.

Alternate-Art and Promo DON!! Cards

The functional 10-card DON!! Deck in a starter deck uses a standard design, but the game has released alternate-art and promotional DON!! cards through booster sets and dedicated products — separate from the numbered cardlist that Leaders, Characters, and SP cards belong to.

The biggest change since this guide was first published is that OP-17 itself now puts alternate DON!! cards into regular Japanese boosters. Each of the four designs has a standard printing and a gold-frame “super parallel” printing; community pull-rate tracking puts a gold DON!! at roughly 8.27% per box, or about one per 12 boxes — an unofficial community figure, not a Bandai-published rate. On the secondary market, snkrdunk’s lowest asks as of September 1, 2026 put the base gold DON!! at ¥1,000, the gold Luffy & Loki DON!! at ¥1,800, and the Four Emperors DON!! at ¥1,400 (with its super-parallel version asking ¥2,500), while the gold-lettering Rocks Pirates DON!! sat at the top of the range at ¥5,000 — asking prices, not sold prices. Double Pack Set Vol.12 [DP-12], confirmed on the official English product page, bundles two English OP-17 boosters with a DON!! card drawn from one of two new designs, at $11.99. ONE PIECE Heroines Special Set was announced with a Promotion DON!! card set of 10, where either the standard printing or the Alt-Art printing is included — buyers can’t choose which — and the set also bundles 70 sleeves and a playmat.

A newer promo source appeared at ONE PIECE DAY’26 (August 22–23, 2026): the Premium Card Collection -ONE PIECE DAY’26- contains one Monkey.D.Luffy promo card and one DON!! promo card for ¥990, sold only through a Premium Bandai lottery running August 22 to September 7, 2026, with shipping in November 2026. It was not sold at the event venue itself, so this DON!! will surface on the secondary market only after the November ship date.

On the English side, an alternate-art “Manga” DON!! card from the original Romance Dawn [OP01] booster set has circulated through secondary-market listings, confirming that manga-panel DON!! art exists as a real, tradeable printing in that language. On the Japanese side, that question is now settled for the current set: OP-17 Japanese boosters carry the four new DON!! designs and their gold super-parallels as regular booster contents, so a sealed box is a legitimate source of alternate DON!! cards rather than only Character and Leader pulls.

Alternate-art DON!! cards sit outside the SP-rarity system that applies to reprinted Character and Leader cards — if you’re tracking parallel and SP printings more broadly, our SP cards guide covers how that separate rarity tier works.

Where to Buy Japanese One Piece Booster Boxes

We ship Japanese One Piece Card Game sealed product worldwide from Tokyo with tracked delivery. We don’t currently list standalone DON!! singles — the 10-card DON!! Deck comes built into every starter deck, OP-17 boosters carry the new DON!! designs as regular contents, and special products like DP-12 add single alternate-art DON!! cards on top. The most direct route to new DON!! art plus a full set of new pulls is a sealed OP-17 booster box.
