OP-17 The World’s Strongest Warriors ships six leaders — one per color — and for the first time in the One Piece Card Game’s history, every one of them gets a leader-specific parallel treatment. Whitebeard, Shanks, Rocks D. Xebec, Kaido, Luffy and Charlotte Linlin each headline their own color, and each now has a “Super Leader Parallel” alternate version sitting alongside the standard print.
One of those six goes a step further. Luffy’s OP17-079 leader carries a second, rarer version on top of its Super Leader Parallel — the “Pirate Crew Super Parallel,” the set’s marquee chase treatment. This guide walks through all six leaders, their official effect text, which same-color SR/SEC cards pair with them on the battlefield, and what separates the two new parallel tiers.
OP-17 has 6 leaders, one per color (Red, Green, Blue, Purple, Black, Yellow). All 6 now have a Super Leader Parallel (_p1) — the first leader-parallel line in the game. Luffy’s OP17-079 leader is the only one of the six with an additional Pirate Crew Super Parallel (_p2), the set’s top chase card. We list the OP-17 booster box (Japanese) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) at ¥17,000 (~$116); singles aren’t listed individually — request a quote via our Quick Order page.
The official Japanese OP-17 card list is now published, and it confirms this exact six-leader lineup with a Super Leader Parallel (_p1) for each. The English version of OP-17 released on August 28, 2026 at an MSRP of $4.99 per pack. On secondary marketplace snkrdunk, lowest asking prices as of September 1, 2026 (converted at ¥147/USD) sit at ¥15,500 (~$105) for a sealed Japanese booster box, between ¥1,000 and ¥4,000 for the six Super Leader Parallels, and ¥159,999 (~$1,088) for the comic-parallel treatment of Luffy’s leader (the “L-SP” listing) — asking prices from active listings, not sold prices. Full figures are in the market snapshot section below.

All 6 OP-17 Leaders at a Glance
Every OP-17 leader shares the same baseline stat line — Life 5, Power 5000 — and each is tied to a specific crew or emperor faction from the set’s Elbaf-and-Four-Emperors theme. For the full 119-card base checklist by rarity, see our OP-17 card list guide; for the general parallel-hunting rundown, see our OP-17 chase cards guide.
| No. | Leader | Color | Life | Power | Traits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| OP17-001 | Edward.Newgate | Red | 5 | 5000 | The Four Emperors/Whitebeard Pirates |
| OP17-020 | Shanks | Green | 5 | 5000 | The Four Emperors/Red-Haired Pirates |
| OP17-039 | Rocks.D.Xebec | Blue | 5 | 5000 | Rocks Pirates |
| OP17-058 | Kaido | Purple | 5 | 5000 | The Four Emperors/Animal Kingdom Pirates |
| OP17-079 | Monkey.D.Luffy | Black | 5 | 5000 | Elbaph/The Four Emperors/Straw Hat Crew |
| OP17-099 | Charlotte Linlin | Yellow | 5 | 5000 | The Four Emperors/Big Mom Pirates |
Each leader also has a matching Super Leader Parallel (ID suffix _p1) in the same color and the same base stats, printed in the set’s new leader-parallel treatment. The sections below cover each leader’s effect, its color’s SR/SEC support, and its parallel art side by side.
Edward.Newgate (OP17-001) — Red
Whitebeard leads the Red lineup as the Whitebeard Pirates’ captain. Official effect text:
[On Your Opponent’s Attack] [Once Per Turn] You may trash 1 card from your hand: Up to 1 of your Leader or Characters gains +4000 power during this battle.
Because the condition only asks for one card from hand, this leader effect can fire on defense every turn there’s a card to spare, adding +4000 power to blunt an incoming attack on the Leader or a Character.
In Red, this leader’s on-field support is a single SR: Edward.Newgate SR (OP17-005), Cost 10 / Power 12000, which drops to Cost 6 against a Character with 10000+ power and, on play, pushes the monocolored leader’s base power to 8000 until the end of the opponent’s next End Phase. Red carries no SEC in this set. For more on the character, see our Whitebeard cards guide.
Shanks (OP17-020) — Green
Shanks fronts the Green side as the Red-Haired Pirates’ captain. Official effect text:
[Activate: Main] [Once Per Turn] You may trash 1 card from your hand or rest 1 of your DON!! cards: Up to 1 of your opponent’s rested Characters will not become active in your opponent’s next Refresh Phase.
The effect works as a tempo tool on offense, spending either a hand card or a DON!! card to keep a rested opposing Character from untapping at the opponent’s next Refresh Phase.
Green’s SR support runs deeper than Red’s: Shanks SR (OP17-022), Cost 10 / Power 12000 with [Rush], sets up to 2 DON!! cards active on play and rests all of the opponent’s Characters; Yasopp SR (OP17-031), Cost 5 / Power 6000 / Counter 1000, draws a card and rests an opposing Character of cost 8 or less on play. Green has no SEC in OP-17. See our Shanks cards guide for more.
Rocks.D.Xebec (OP17-039) — Blue
Rocks D. Xebec headlines Blue as captain of the Rocks Pirates. Official effect text:
[When Attacking] You may trash 1 card from your hand: Reveal 1 card from the top of your deck. If the revealed card’s type includes “Rocks Pirates”, draw 2 cards.
The reveal-and-draw only triggers while attacking, so it rewards a deck built to keep Rocks Pirates-type cards near the top of the deck through repeated attacks.
Blue ties Black for the deepest support in the set, with two SRs and an SEC: Shiki SR (OP17-048), Cost 7 / Power 9000, has [Rush] as a Character and can trash a Rocks Pirates card from hand to give an opposing Character −3000 power; Gloriosa SR (OP17-046), Cost 4 / Power 1000, is a [Blocker] that places a cost-5-or-less Character at the bottom of its owner’s deck on play; and Blue closes with the set’s own Rocks.D.Xebec SEC (OP17-118), Cost 10 / Power 12000, which draws a card and plays up to two differently-named Rocks Pirates cards with a combined cost of 9 or less on play. Read more in our Rocks D. Xebec cards guide.
Kaido (OP17-058) — Purple
Kaido leads Purple as captain of the Animal Kingdom Pirates. Official effect text:
[When Attacking]/[On Your Opponent’s Attack] [Once Per Turn] DON!! −1: Give up to 1 of your opponent’s Characters −2000 power during this turn.
Because it can trigger on either your attack or your opponent’s, this DON!!-cost ability gives Kaido a once-per-turn power tax it can apply in whichever combat step matters more.
Purple carries two Kaido SRs rather than a mixed support cast: Kaido SR (OP17-062), Cost 10 / Power 12000, is a [Blocker] that can add a DON!! card as active from the DON!! deck once per turn when one is returned there; Kaido SR (OP17-063), also Cost 10 / Power 12000, gives every non-Counter Character in hand +1000 Counter and can negate-and-K.O. an opposing cost-6-or-less Character on the turn it’s played. Purple has no SEC in this set. See our Kaido cards guide.
Monkey.D.Luffy (OP17-079) — Black
Luffy fronts Black as captain of the Straw Hat Crew in the set’s Elbaf-arc framing. Official effect text:
All of your Characters with a cost of 12 or more gain [Blocker]. (After your opponent declares an attack, you may rest this card to make it the new target of the attack.)
The Blocker grant only applies to Characters costing 12 or more, so this leader effect rewards a deck built around the set’s higher-cost Elbaph and Four Emperors cards rather than a low-cost curve.
Black’s SR support: Usopp SR (OP17-080), Cost 2 / Power 2000 / Counter 1000, gains +3000 power whenever a cost-12-or-more Character is in play and can dig 3 cards for an Elbaph-type card on play; Monkey.D.Luffy SR (OP17-093), Cost 8 / Power 8000, gains [Rush] under the same cost-12 condition and draws a card while replaying a cost-2-or-less Character from the trash. Black’s SEC is Loki (OP17-119), Cost 6 / Power 8000, which gains +12 cost (and +3000 power on the opponent’s turn) and K.O.s opposing Characters with a combined cost of 4 or less on play. More on the character in our Luffy cards guide.
Luffy’s leader is the only one of the six OP-17 leaders with a second parallel tier: alongside the Super Leader Parallel (OP17-079_p1), it also has a Pirate Crew Super Parallel (OP17-079_p2) — the set’s headline chase card. Reported buyback offers for OP17-079_p2 sat around ¥1.30–1.42M (~$8,176–$8,931) as of August 24, 2026, per torecamap/tcgpro — attributed as a reported buyback figure, not a confirmed sale price.
Charlotte Linlin (OP17-099) — Yellow
Charlotte Linlin (Big Mom) leads Yellow as captain of the Big Mom Pirates. Official effect text:
[When Attacking] You may trash 1 card from your hand: Your opponent chooses one: • Trash 1 card from your hand. Then, add up to 1 card from the top of your deck to the top of your Life cards. • Trash 1 card from your opponent’s hand.
The effect triggers only while attacking, and it forces a choice from the opponent — trading a card from either player’s hand for a shift in what sits on top of the Life cards.
Yellow’s on-field support is a single SR: Charlotte Linlin SR (OP17-112), Cost 10 / Power 12000, raises the base power of all your 4000-base [Trigger] Characters to 8000 on your turn, then draws a card on play and lets you shift a Life card or take one from the opponent’s Life pile. Yellow has no SEC in this set. See our Charlotte Linlin (Big Mom) cards guide.
Super Leader Parallel vs Pirate Crew Super Parallel: What the Names Mean
OP-17’s official set announcement introduced two new parallel categories, and it’s easy to mix them up:
- Super Leader Parallel (スーパーリーダーパラレル) — the first leader-parallel treatment in the One Piece Card Game. Every one of the six OP-17 leaders has one: OP17-001_p1, OP17-020_p1, OP17-039_p1, OP17-058_p1, OP17-079_p1, OP17-099_p1.
- Pirate Crew Super Parallel (海賊団スーパーパラレル) — a separate, rarer treatment the official announcement singles out as the set’s top chase. In the official card database it appears on exactly two cards: Luffy’s leader (OP17-079_p2) and Rocks D. Xebec’s SEC character card (OP17-118_p2). Luffy is the only leader among the six to carry it — Rocks D. Xebec’s Pirate Crew Super Parallel sits on his SEC character print (OP17-118), not on his leader card (OP17-039).
So every leader has exactly one parallel step up (Super Leader Parallel), and only Luffy’s leader has a second, higher step (Pirate Crew Super Parallel) on top of that. The naming reflects the scope of each treatment: “Super Leader Parallel” describes any leader getting the new alternate art, while “Pirate Crew Super Parallel” is reserved for the specific handful of cards the set announcement calls out as its top-tier chase — a designation that, in OP-17, lands on one leader and one SEC character card, not on a whole rarity tier.
For the set’s other new parallel lines — comic/manga parallels and the “Baki” Kaido — see our OP-17 manga rare parallel guide, and for the full SR rundown see our OP-17 Super Rare cards guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many leaders does OP-17 have?
Six — one per color. Edward.Newgate (Red, OP17-001), Shanks (Green, OP17-020), Rocks.D.Xebec (Blue, OP17-039), Kaido (Purple, OP17-058), Monkey.D.Luffy (Black, OP17-079) and Charlotte Linlin (Yellow, OP17-099). All six share Life 5 / Power 5000 as their base stats.
What is a Super Leader Parallel?
It’s a new alternate-art parallel treatment applied to a leader card, introduced for the first time with OP-17. All six OP-17 leaders have one: OP17-001_p1, OP17-020_p1, OP17-039_p1, OP17-058_p1, OP17-079_p1 and OP17-099_p1.
What’s the difference between the Super Leader Parallel and the Pirate Crew Super Parallel?
Super Leader Parallel is a treatment shared by all six leaders. Pirate Crew Super Parallel is a separate, rarer treatment the official set announcement calls out as the top chase — in the official database it appears on only two cards: Luffy’s leader (OP17-079_p2) and Rocks D. Xebec’s SEC character card (OP17-118_p2), not his leader card.
Do all six OP-17 leaders have a Super Leader Parallel?
Yes, per the official card database. Only Luffy’s leader (OP17-079) additionally has a Pirate Crew Super Parallel (OP17-079_p2) on top of its Super Leader Parallel.
