Who Is Teeziro?
Teeziro’s pen name comes from T-jiro — a reference to a T-shaped road intersection (T-字路) in Japanese — and the story behind how he became an official Pokemon TCG artist runs through a design contest rather than a traditional portfolio submission. His entry in the Pokemon Card Illustration Grand Prix, a Charizard piece, advanced him to the semifinal round. He didn’t take the top prize, but he went on to become an official Pokemon TCG illustrator.
His TCG debut came with Lycanroc, card 042 in Chilling Reign (S6H). Since then he’s built a catalog of 86 TCG printings and 27 cards in Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, plus art contributed to Pokemon HOME and to Pokemon’s 30th-anniversary publications.
In interviews cited by Bulbapedia, Teeziro is described as a specialist in large, imposing Pokemon. That specialty shows up in the two chase-card runs covered below: the Umbreon V special art and the three Wild Force Paradox Pokemon SARs. Wild Force (SV5K) closes with a run of three Paradox Pokemon secret rares — and Teeziro illustrated all three of them himself. Gouging Fire ex SAR (093), Walking Wake ex SAR (094/071), and Raging Bolt ex SAR (095) form a consecutive block at the top of the set’s secret rare numbering, and the entire trio was illustrated by a single artist.
