2010: The TCG Debut in Black Collection (BW1b)
Reshiram’s first Japanese TCG printing arrived December 17, 2010 in Black Collection (BW1b), roughly three months after the game itself. It’s card 013/053 in its regular Rare slot and 055/053 as the set’s “kira” secret rare, HP 130, Fire-type, illustrated by 5ban Graphics. Black Collection ran 53 cards total, and paired with a companion White Collection set built around Zekrom — the same twin-release format the franchise still uses today, most recently for Black Bolt and White Flare in 2025.
2011: The Reshiram-EX Battle Strength Deck
Less than a year later, Reshiram EX headlined its own 20-card structured deck, the Reshiram-EX Battle Strength Deck, released October 21, 2011. The card is numbered 004/018 within the deck’s own small print run. We haven’t confirmed HP, type, or attack text for this printing against a clean primary source, so we’re keeping this entry to the release details rather than guessing at the rest of the card.
The XY and Early Sun & Moon Prints
Between the 2011 structured deck and the 2018 GX card, Reshiram kept appearing as a regular Rare in expansion sets, though our sourcing for this stretch is thinner. We found Reshiram R, card 008/051, in Thunder Knuckle, an XY-era set, and Reshiram R, card 051/078, in Emerald Break (XY8) — we couldn’t confirm exact release dates or the HP/type line for either against a primary source, so we’re listing card numbers and sets only.
The next printing we can date with confidence is Reshiram R, card 015/072, in Shining Legends (SM3+), released July 15, 2017. Then, in Dragon Storm (SM6a), released April 6, 2018, Reshiram got its first GX treatment: Reshiram GX, card 008/053 as the regular double-rare and 054/053 as the set’s secret rare. We haven’t independently confirmed HP or type for this GX printing, so we’re not stating stats we can’t back up.
The Amazing Rare in Shiny Star V (S4a)
Reshiram’s next confirmed standalone printing is card 021/190 in Shiny Star V (S4a), sitting in the set’s Amazing Rare slot — HP 120, Fire-type, illustrated by PLANETA Tsuji. We weren’t able to confirm the set’s exact Japanese release date within this pack’s sourcing, so we’re not stating one here.

The 25th Anniversary Promo Pack
A separate Reshiram appeared as card 020/025 in the Promo Card Pack, 25th Anniversary Edition, the same promo series that included Pikachu (007/025), Charizard (001/025), and Zekrom (021/025) under matching 0XX/025 numbering. We haven’t been able to confirm this promo pack’s exact set slug or release date against a primary source, so those details stay unconfirmed here.
A different, regular Reshiram — card 010/028 — exists in the main 25th Anniversary Collection set (S8a). The promo pack version below (020/025) is a separate card with its own numbering, distributed through the promo pack rather than the main set.

2025: Reshiram ex and the White Flare “BWR”
Reshiram’s most recent standalone printing is Reshiram ex from White Flare (SV11W), released June 6, 2025 alongside its companion set, Black Bolt (SV11B) — the same twin-release structure Black Collection and White Collection used back in 2010. It’s HP 230, Fire-type, with two attacks: きりさく for 50 damage and ブレイズバースト (Blaze Burst) for 130+ damage under certain conditions.
The card comes in three print runs: 017/086 as the regular double-rare, 160/086 as a secret rare, and 174/086 in a monochrome ultra-rare treatment we list as “BWR” — black-and-white-only artwork shared by both the Black Bolt and White Flare sets. Limitless TCG’s own rarity field shows 174/086 as “Ultra Rare”; we haven’t confirmed “BWR” as an official Pokemon TCG rarity name in a primary source, so treat it as our shop’s shorthand for this specific monochrome design rather than a printed rarity code.
