¥1,300,000 for a single card — while the set’s headline Secret Rares are trading close to bulk price.
OP-17, The World’s Strongest Warriors (世界最強の戦士), released in Japan on Saturday, August 22, 2026, and we’re now three days into launch weekend. That’s long enough for the secondary market to settle into a real shape, and the shape it settled into is unusual: this set’s two headline Secret Rares are nearly bulk, while value has piled up almost entirely in a pair of parallel treatments most players will never see pulled.
This is our launch-weekend market report, written from Tokyo with live Japanese pricing data. You’ll get day-3 numbers for the box and the major confirmed chase cards in JPY and USD, a look at the official per-box rarity breakdown, community pull-rate estimates (with the conflicts flagged), and what’s coming with the English release — so you can decide your own entry point instead of guessing.
Our team handles Japanese sealed product daily and ships boxes from Tokyo worldwide, so every figure below comes from the market we buy and sell in ourselves.
OP-17 boxes are asking ¥15,699–16,000 (~$99–$101) on the Japanese secondary market — about 2.7–2.8× the ¥5,760 MSRP. Almost all of that premium sits in two Pirate-Crew Super Parallel cards: a Luffy (EB04-061) asking seven figures and a Rocks D. Xebec (OP17-118) asking ¥540,000. The four manga Super Parallels and the Luffy leader parallel form a second tier at ¥80,000–184,000, while the set’s actual base Secret Rares — Loki and Rocks — are asking ¥1,399 and ¥2,750. All prices are August 24, 2026 snapshots at ¥159/USD and will move fast. See the September 1, 2026 update below for where these numbers stand ten days after release.
Update: September 1, 2026
Ten days after the Japanese release, here is where the market stands. The launch-weekend snapshot below is preserved as written on August 24; the figures in this section are snkrdunk lowest asking prices fetched September 1, 2026, converted at ¥147/USD — asking prices from active listings, not confirmed sales.
Two facts have changed since the original report. The English version of OP-17 released on schedule on August 28, 2026 at $4.99/pack — English single-card listings are appearing on the Japanese marketplace but almost all show no active asks yet, and the English box itself has no ask, so there’s no meaningful EN pricing to report this early. And the official Japanese card list is now published, confirming the rarity structure this report described — including the third Secret Rare slot, which is a comic-parallel reprint of the EB04-061 Luffy SEC obtainable from OP-17 packs while keeping its EB-04 card number.
| Item | Ask (Sept 1) | USD approx. | Launch weekend (Aug 24) reference |
|---|---|---|---|
| OP-17 JP booster box (sealed) | ¥15,500 | ~$105 | ¥15,699–16,000 |
| OP-17 JP single pack | ¥1,000 | ~$7 | — |
| Luffy Pirate-Crew Super Parallel (EB04-061) | ¥1,300,000 | ~$8,844 | ~¥1,300,000 |
| Rocks D. Xebec Pirate-Crew Super Parallel (OP17-118) | ¥511,111 | ~$3,477 | ¥540,000 |
| Shanks manga SR-SP (OP17-022) | ¥170,000 | ~$1,156 | ¥184,000 |
| Newgate manga SR-SP (OP17-005) | ¥119,000 | ~$810 | ¥120,000 |
| Kaido manga SR-SP (OP17-062) | ¥88,800 | ~$604 | ¥85,000 |
| Linlin manga SR-SP (OP17-112) | ¥80,000 | ~$544 | ¥80,000 |
| Luffy SR-SPC 新四皇 (ST31-004) | ¥70,000 | ~$476 | ¥75,000 |
| Loki base SEC (OP17-119) | ¥1,300 | ~$9 | ¥1,399 |
| Rocks D. Xebec base SEC (OP17-118) | ¥2,400 | ~$16 | ¥2,750 |
| Lucky Roux Treasure Rare (OP17-033) | ¥1,000 | ~$7 | no published ask yet |
On the leader side, the marketplace now carries two separate parallel listings for Luffy’s OP17-079: the standard leader parallel (“L-P”) asking ¥4,000, and a higher-tier comic-parallel listing (“L-SP”) asking ¥159,999 (~$1,088). The other five leaders’ standard parallels ask between ¥1,000 (Whitebeard) and ¥3,800 (Xebec).
The shape of the launch-weekend story has held: boxes are still asking in the mid-¥15,000s, the base Secret Rares are still near bulk (both under ¥2,500), and the set’s value remains concentrated in the two Pirate-Crew Super Parallels and the manga SR tier. Our own box listing is now ¥17,000 (~$116), down from the ¥18,000 launch-weekend list price shown in the snapshot below.
Launch Weekend Snapshot: OP-17 by the Numbers
Here’s the state of the market three days after release, at a glance:
| Metric | Launch-weekend figure (August 24, 2026) |
|---|---|
| Box MSRP | ¥5,760 (~$36) — 24 packs × 6 cards |
| Box market price | ¥15,699–16,000 (~$99–$101) |
| Top card (Luffy Pirate-Crew Super Parallel, EB04-061) | ~¥1,300,000 ask (~$8,176) |
| Cheapest base Secret Rare (Loki, OP17-119) | ¥1,399 (~$9) |
| Set size | “131 + 4 types” (official); per box spec: 3 SEC slots, 1 TR, 10 SP |
| English release | August 28, 2026 — less than a week away, $4.99/pack |
Two things stand out. First, this is a comparatively affordable box launch by recent standards — sub-¥16,000 — because the set’s real value isn’t distributed across many mid-tier hits, it’s concentrated at the very top. Second, the two cards driving nearly all of that top-end value are a new treatment most pre-release coverage barely mentioned: the Pirate-Crew Super Parallel.
The rest of this report breaks down where that value sits, and what the official per-box breakdown says about how hard it is to pull.
What Is OP-17? (60-Second Recap)
OP-17, The World’s Strongest Warriors, is the latest Japanese-language expansion in the One Piece Card Game, built around the game’s six primary Leader colors and headlined by Monkey D. Luffy, Shanks, Whitebeard (Newgate), Kaido, Rocks D. Xebec, and Charlotte Linlin. The set totals “131 + 4 types” per the official product page, with the customary spread of commons through Super Rares on top of a compact Secret Rare tier.
Per the official Toei store spec, a 24-pack box breaks down as: 6 Leaders, 45 Commons, 30 Uncommons, 26 Rares, 10 Super Rares, 3 Secret Rares, 1 Treasure Rare, 10 Special cards, and 4 DON!! cards.

What makes this launch different from a typical set is where the box’s value is actually coming from. In most releases, the box premium tracks a broad spread of mid-tier hits. Here, the guaranteed Super Rares and the three Secret Rare slots are worth relatively little on their own — the box premium is almost entirely a lottery ticket on the two Pirate-Crew Super Parallels, which the next section covers in detail.
Chase Card Values: The Cheap-SEC, Monster-Parallel Twist
OP-17’s value structure is the story of this launch. The set’s actual Secret Rares — the cards that would normally headline the price sheet — are asking near bulk. The real money sits in a new parallel treatment layered on top of them.
The base Secret Rares — nearly bulk
| Card | Rarity | Ask (Aug 24) | USD approx. |
|---|---|---|---|
| Loki (OP17-119) | SEC | ¥1,399 | ~$9 |
| Loki (OP17-119), parallel | SEC-P | ¥3,600 | ~$23 |
| Rocks D. Xebec (OP17-118) | SEC | ¥2,750 | ~$17 |
| Kaido, parallel | SR-P | ¥13,999 | ~$88 |
| Luffy (OP17-093), parallel | SR-P | ¥4,000 | ~$25 |
Loki and Rocks D. Xebec are the set’s two “standard” Secret Rares, and both are asking under ¥3,000 — effectively bulk pricing for a Secret Rare on release weekend. That’s not a mistake or a soft market; it’s because the set moved its scarcity budget somewhere else.
Day-3 prices for a set this new are set by a small number of listings. Expect every number on this page to move over the next week or two as opening volume increases — treat these as snapshots, not quotes.
The Pirate-Crew Super Parallels — where the money actually is
OP-17 introduces a new 4th-anniversary treatment called the 海賊団スーパーパラレル, or “Pirate-Crew Super Parallel,” applied to two cards: a Monkey D. Luffy (EB04-061) and the Rocks D. Xebec Secret Rare (OP17-118). Together they function as the set’s real top end — effectively a third secret-rarity slot layered on top of the standard SEC pair, though the official rarity count for this treatment isn’t stated in exactly those terms.
| Card | Snkrdunk ask (Aug 24) | USD approx. | Shop listings (secondary) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luffy Pirate-Crew Super Parallel (EB04-061) | ~¥1,300,000 | ~$8,176 | ~¥1.48M–2.2M (yuyu-tei/torecamap) |
| Rocks D. Xebec Pirate-Crew Super Parallel (OP17-118) | ¥540,000 | ~$3,396 | ~¥798k–889k (yuyu-tei/torecamap) |
Snkrdunk figures above are marketplace asking prices, not confirmed sales; shop listings run meaningfully higher, which is typical when a card is this scarce and shops are pricing to hold rather than move volume quickly. Either way, a single Luffy pull at these levels is worth roughly 80 sealed boxes at current box prices.
The manga finals — confirmed SR Super Parallels

The four manga-art Super Parallels teased ahead of release are now confirmed: Whitebeard/Newgate (OP17-005), Shanks (OP17-022), Kaido (OP17-062), and Linlin (OP17-112), each an SR Super Parallel.
| Card | Ask (Aug 24) | USD approx. |
|---|---|---|
| Shanks manga SR-SP (OP17-022) | ¥184,000 | ~$1,157 |
| Newgate manga SR-SP (OP17-005) | ¥120,000 (used, C grade ¥198,000) | ~$755 / ~$1,245 |
| Kaido manga SR-SP (OP17-062) | ¥85,000 | ~$535 |
| Linlin manga SR-SP (OP17-112) | ¥80,000 | ~$503 |
Shop listings for this tier are running higher too — Shanks manga has been seen at roughly ¥248,000–338,000 on yuyu-tei/torecamap, versus the ¥184,000 snkrdunk ask above.
The leader parallel
The Luffy Super Leader Parallel (OP17-079) is confirmed and asking ¥115,000. It sits in the middle of the chase board — above the Kaido and Linlin manga parallels, below Shanks and Newgate but well above the base Secret Rares. Also on the market: an insert card, the Luffy SR-SPC 新四皇 (ST31-004), asking ¥75,000, and a Treasure Rare confirmed as Lucky Roux (OP17-033) — still working its way into published price data as of this weekend.
The Official Hit Lineup: What’s Actually Rare in a Box
Here’s the full confirmed rarity structure, combining the official Toei per-box spec with the secondary card lists that have been consistent across sites (yuyu-tei, akihabara-cardshop, tcg-portal) since release.
| Slot | Count per box | Confirmed cards |
|---|---|---|
| Leader | 6 | Newgate (red), Shanks (green), Rocks (blue), Kaido (purple), Luffy (black), Linlin (yellow) |
| Common | 45 | — |
| Uncommon | 30 | — |
| Rare | 26 | — |
| Super Rare | 10 | — |
| Secret Rare (SEC) | 3 | Loki, Rocks D. Xebec, plus the Pirate-Crew Super Parallel treatment on Luffy (EB04-061) |
| Treasure Rare (TR) | 1 | Lucky Roux (OP17-033) |
| Special (SP) | 10 | Includes the 4 manga Super Parallels (Newgate, Shanks, Kaido, Linlin) and the Luffy Super Leader Parallel |
| DON!! | 4 | — |
The set totals “131 + 4 types” per the official product page. Some secondary aggregators cite “177 types including parallels” — that figure isn’t an official count, so we’re not treating it as confirmed.
The Pirate-Crew Super Parallel framing is worth restating: it’s not on the official per-box spec as a fourth secret-rarity slot, but in practice it’s the card everyone is chasing, and the market has priced it well above every officially-labeled Secret Rare in the set.
Pull Rate Estimates & What a Box Actually Contains
Official pull rates are never published, so what follows is community-sourced from opening data since Saturday’s release — and the estimates from different sites don’t fully agree.
| Card / tier | Community estimate | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Pirate-Crew Super Parallel | ~1 in 338 boxes | torecamap (single site) |
| Manga Super Parallel (any of the 4) | ~1 in 65–100 boxes | torecamap (~1/65) vs. gamepedia (~1/96) — estimates conflict |
| Luffy Leader Parallel | ~1 in 6 boxes | Single-site estimate |
None of these are official, and none should be treated as more precise than “roughly.” The manga Super Parallel figure is the clearest example: two community sources put it anywhere from 1-in-65 to 1-in-96, nearly a 50% spread, which is normal this early in a set’s life before enough boxes have been logged.
What’s not in dispute is the shape of the value curve: a box’s guaranteed Super Rares and standard Secret Rares carry almost no premium on their own. The entire case for opening a box on launch weekend is the shot at a manga Super Parallel (roughly 1 in 65–100) or, on a much longer shot, one of the two Pirate-Crew Super Parallels (roughly 1 in 338 by the single estimate available).
English Release & What Happens Next
The English version of OP-17 released on August 28, 2026 — four days after this report was first written — at an MSRP of $4.99/pack. Cards became tournament-legal from the earlier English pre-release date of August 21. (See the September 1 update above for where the market stands post-EN-release.)
As of August 24, there’s no official reprint announcement for the Japanese version. Several retailers are running restock lotteries — JUMP SHOP from August 24–27 and GEO from August 31–September 3 — which is worth flagging as a secondary source of supply, though lottery allocations don’t move the broader secondary market the way a confirmed reprint would.
With no reprint confirmed and English release just days away, the next real test for these prices is whether English-market demand pulls any weight on the Japanese secondary market for a set this concentrated at the top. Set your target price before you shop rather than chasing whichever number moves first.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does an OP-17 booster box cost on launch weekend?
As of August 24, 2026 (three days after the Japanese release), sealed boxes are asking ¥15,699–16,000 (~$99–$101) on the Japanese secondary market — about 2.7–2.8× the ¥5,760 MSRP. These are asking prices from marketplace listings, not confirmed sales.
What is the most valuable card in OP-17?
The Luffy Pirate-Crew Super Parallel (EB04-061), asking around ¥1,300,000 (~$8,176) on Snkrdunk as of August 24, with some shop listings running ¥1.48M–2.2M. The Rocks D. Xebec Pirate-Crew Super Parallel (OP17-118) is second at ¥540,000.
Why are OP-17’s base Secret Rares so cheap?
The set’s two standard Secret Rares, Loki and Rocks D. Xebec, are asking ¥1,399 and ¥2,750 — near bulk. Nearly all of the set’s chase value has moved instead into the new Pirate-Crew Super Parallel treatment applied to a Luffy and to the Rocks Secret Rare, plus a tier of four manga Super Parallels and a leader parallel.
What are the odds of pulling a manga Super Parallel or the Pirate-Crew Super Parallel?
Unofficial community estimates put the manga Super Parallels (Newgate, Shanks, Kaido, Linlin) at roughly 1 in 65–100 boxes, with sources conflicting. The Pirate-Crew Super Parallel is estimated around 1 in 338 boxes by a single community source. There is no official pull-rate data for OP-17.
When does the English version of OP-17 release?
The English version released on August 28, 2026, at $4.99/pack, with cards tournament-legal from the earlier pre-release date of August 21. As of August 24 there was no official reprint of the Japanese version, though several retailers were running restock lotteries.
All prices in the launch-weekend sections of this article are Japanese secondary-market snapshots taken August 24, 2026 (JST), converted at ¥159/USD; figures in the September 1, 2026 update section convert at ¥147/USD.
