Emolga (エモンガ, Emonga) is a Basic Pokémon with no evolution line, Electric-and-Flying-typed in the games and printed as a Lightning-type card in the Japanese Pokémon Trading Card Game. Basic, single-stage Pokémon rarely get much longevity on the print schedule, but Emolga is an exception — a Limitless TCG species search for “pokemon:emolga” returns 25 Japanese prints spanning sets from the Black & White era through the modern Scarlet & Violet lineup.
This guide focuses on the two Emolga prints we’ve individually verified card by card — a 2013 Secret Rare from the Shiny Collection concept pack and an EX Secret Rare from the XY-era Collection Y — and rounds up where the wider print run turns up in the Limitless index. Both verified prints are graded PSA 10 and currently listed on our site. For any of the other prints in the wider run, sourcing requests go through Quick Order.
Emolga has turned up in at least 25 Japanese Pokémon TCG prints since its Black & White-era debut, per Limitless’s species index — we’ve individually verified full card data on two of them, both graded PSA 10 and listed on our site: the 2013 Shiny Collection Secret Rare (SC 023/020), currently listed at ¥342,200 (~$2,152), and the XY-era Emolga EX Secret Rare from Collection Y (062/060), currently listed at ¥64,900 (~$408). The Japanese Emolga Prints We’ve Verified
A Limitless species search for Emolga returns 25 Japanese prints, but this guide only individually confirms card-level detail — illustrator, HP, exact rarity — on the two prints below. Treat the rest of the index as “confirmed to exist,” not “confirmed in detail.”
| Card | Number | Rarity | HP | Illustrator | Set |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Emolga | SC 023/020 | Secret Rare | — | — | Shiny Collection |
| Emolga EX | XY1y 062/060 | Secret Rare | 110 | Ryo Ueda | Collection Y |
The blank HP cell for the Shiny Collection print isn’t an oversight — that set isn’t indexed on Limitless the way most modern sets are, so we’ve sourced its facts from Bulbapedia instead and aren’t citing an HP figure we can’t independently confirm there.
Shiny Collection: The 2013 Secret Rare

The Shiny Collection (コンセプトパック シャイニーコレクション) is a Japanese concept pack released February 1, 2013, the second subset of the Black & White era. Bulbapedia lists the set’s total card count at 25, while the number printed on the secret rares themselves reads a denominator of 020 — consistent with a 20-card main numbering band, with the secret rares numbered above it. Emolga sits at 023/020, Secret Rare, Lightning type.
Cards from Shiny Collection were later released internationally as part of the Radiant Collection subset of Legendary Treasures, per Bulbapedia. We haven’t independently verified whether that release included this specific Emolga print, so we’re flagging it as the documented English-side connection rather than confirming a direct Emolga match.
For the full set breakdown, see our Shiny Collection (SC) Concept Pack guide. Two other Shiny Collection secret rares have their own single-card guides on our site: Growlithe (004/020) and Meloetta EX (025/020).
Collection Y: The XY-Era EX Secret Rare

Collection Y (XY1y) carries Emolga EX at 062/060, Secret Rare, 110 HP, Lightning type, illustrated by Ryo Ueda. The 062/060 numbering works the same way as the Shiny Collection print — the numerator sits above the set’s main printed count, marking it as a secret rare rather than a standard pull.
Limitless’s card page for this print also notes that international prints of Emolga EX exist in the base English XY set, at #46 (standard) and #143 (full art) — different card numbers from the Japanese secret rare here, and a separate print from this one rather than a direct twin.
The Wider Emolga Print Run

Beyond the Collection Y print above, the same Limitless search surfaces 24 further Emolga entries by set code and card number: M4 030, MC 253, MP1 007, SV11B 032/116, SV6 042, S11 038, SN 002, SI 144/145, S6K 023, SM8a 009, SMH 039, SM4S 019, a separate XY1y 023 (a standard-rarity Emolga in the same set as our Collection Y anchor, distinct from the 062/060 secret rare), EBB 041, MDB 010, BW5n 017, BKZ 007, BTV 006/006a, BW1b 021, and BWP 081/236 — several of those set codes carry two catalogued Emolga numbers each. The Shiny Collection print above sits outside this Limitless index entirely; it is confirmed via Bulbapedia instead.
Those set codes read across roughly the full span of the modern Japanese TCG — Black & White-era codes (BW1b, BW5n, BKZ, BTV, BWP) through Sun & Moon-era codes (SM4S, SM8a, SMH) through Sword & Shield and Scarlet & Violet-era codes (S6K, S11, SI, SN, SV6, SV11B). We’re listing them here as an index of where Emolga turns up, not as a set of confirmed rarities or illustrators — none of the 24 have been individually re-checked for this guide.
Chase Prints and What Makes Them Collectible
Both verified anchors in this guide sit in the same rarity band: Secret Rare, with a card number printed above the set’s main numbering count. That’s the mechanical definition of a Japanese secret rare — it isn’t part of the standard numbered run, it’s an inserted extra pull with its own number sequence layered on top.
The Shiny Collection print sits three past its set’s 20-card main band (023 over 020); the Collection Y print sits two past its set’s 60-card main band (062 over 060). In both cases the gap is what tells you it’s a secret rare rather than a numbering error — not the artwork, not the foiling, just the printed fraction.
Because both prints are Secret Rare tier rather than a lower standard rarity, and both come from era-specific concept packs (Shiny Collection) or spin-off boxed sets (Collection Y) rather than a mainline expansion’s common print run, they sit toward the top of what a species-wide Emolga search turns up.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many Japanese Emolga Pokemon card prints are there?
A Limitless species search for Emolga returns 25 Japanese prints. This guide individually verifies card-level detail — illustrator, HP, exact rarity — on one of them, the Collection Y print; the remaining 24 are confirmed to exist by set and number but haven’t been individually re-checked. A second anchor, the Shiny Collection Secret Rare, is also individually verified in this guide but sits outside the Limitless index, confirmed instead via Bulbapedia.
What is the oldest Emolga print covered in this guide?
The Shiny Collection Secret Rare (SC 023/020), from a Japanese concept pack released February 1, 2013 during the Black & White era.
What’s the difference between the Shiny Collection Emolga and the Collection Y Emolga?
The Shiny Collection print is a plain Secret Rare Emolga (023/020) from a 2013 Black & White-era concept pack. The Collection Y print is an Emolga EX Secret Rare (062/060), 110 HP, Lightning type, from the later XY-era Collection Y set, illustrated by Ryo Ueda. Both are Secret Rare tier but from different eras and different card types.
Is there an English version of these Emolga prints?
Not a direct match for either. Shiny Collection cards were later released internationally as part of the Radiant Collection subset of Legendary Treasures, though we haven’t confirmed this specific Emolga print made that jump. Emolga EX did appear in the base English XY set at #46 (standard) and #143 (full art), but those are different card numbers from the Japanese XY1y 062/060 secret rare.
Where can I buy Japanese Emolga Pokemon cards?
The Shiny Collection Secret Rare and the Collection Y EX Secret Rare are both graded PSA 10 and currently listed on our site, shipped from Tokyo with tracked delivery. For any of the other prints in the wider Emolga print run, sourcing requests go through our Quick Order page.
