The Pikachu ex FUR promo pair is the whole card content of the 30th CELEBRATION FUTURISTIC BOX: no booster packs, two promo cards, a set of player supplies, and an MSRP of ¥27,500. It is one of the stranger products in Pokémon TCG’s 2026 anniversary lineup — a supply set built around a pair of Pikachu ex promo cards.
Both promos are FUR-style — the same “Futuristic Rare” treatment carried by the Mew ex and Mewtwo ex cards inside the mainline M6a booster set — and both were illustrated by graphic artist YOSHIROTTEN, whose work also appears across the M6a expansion’s Basic Energy cards.
The 30th CELEBRATION FUTURISTIC BOX (MSRP ¥27,500, ~$173 at ¥159/USD) released September 16, 2026, and contains one each of two FUR-style Pikachu ex promos — 131/M-P and 132/M-P — plus player supplies, with no booster packs. The official page lists Pokémon Center Online as its only sales channel. For the mainline set these promos echo, see our M6a 30th CELEBRATION Booster Box listing.

What’s Inside the FUTURISTIC BOX
The official product name is “30th CELEBRATION FUTURISTIC BOX,” part of Pokémon Card Game’s MEGA-era 30th anniversary lineup. It carries a MSRP of ¥27,500 (tax included, ~$173) and released September 16, 2026 — the same day as the M6a booster set and the Premium Deck Set Espeon & Umbreon.
This is a competitive supply set, not a card product in the traditional sense. Per the product page, the box contains:
- Promo card “Pikachu ex” × 2 types (one of each)
- Pokémon coins × 2
- Metal damage-counter dice × 12
- Metal poison/burn markers × 1 each
- Special deck shields, one set of 64
- Flip deck case × 1
- Special display frame set × 1
- Special rubber playmat × 1 (half-size, single-player format)
- Flip damage-counter case × 1
- Flip playmat case × 1
No booster packs are included. Every card you get from this product is one of the two Pikachu ex promos — there’s no pack-opening element and no chase-rarity gamble beyond the box itself.
The M6a expansion pack, which released the same day, carries an MSRP of ¥360 per pack and holds six foil cards, and the Premium Deck Set Espeon & Umbreon carries an MSRP of ¥6,200 with two 60-card decks (both per the official 30th site). Our Premium Deck Set Espeon & Umbreon listing is currently listed at ¥17,999 (~$117).
The Two Pikachu ex FUR-Style Promos
The headline items are numbered 131/M-P and 132/M-P. Both are Lightning-type Basic Pokémon ex with 190 HP, Weakness to Fighting ×2, no Resistance, and a retreat cost of 1 — standard ex-card stat lines, but the artwork and card text are unique to this product.
The official page describes them as “FUR-style” (“FUR仕様”) promo cards — the same visual treatment used for the FUR Mew ex and Mewtwo ex cards inside the M6a expansion. Whether the printed rarity symbol actually reads FUR isn’t stated, so “FUR-style promo” is the accurate description rather than a formal rarity claim. These M-P promo numbers sit outside the M6a set’s own /103 numbering.
Per a fan translation of the two cards’ text (Pokebeach, June 2026), one promo searches the deck for Basic Pokémon to bench, backed by a 200-damage Thunderbolt that discards all attached Energy; the other freely attaches Basic Energy from hand, backed by a 200-damage Thunder that also deals 30 damage to itself. Whether either shares attacks with the M6a booster set’s own Pikachu ex SAR cards (126/103 “day,” 127/103 “night”) is also unconfirmed.
Bright Pikachu vs Night-Inspired Pikachu: Telling 131 and 132 Apart
The official product page doesn’t label either promo “day” or “night” — that framing comes from Japanese hobby media. Per that reporting, 131/M-P uses a bright, whitish background with Pikachu jumping and smiling, while 132/M-P uses a cooler, night-inspired visual. Pokébeach’s own coverage describes the pair as “each themed after the day or night,” matching the JP descriptions even though neither card prints those words.
If you’re trying to identify which promo you’re holding from a photo, background tone and pose are the fastest tell: a light, airborne Pikachu is 131; a darker, moodier composition is 132.
YOSHIROTTEN: The Artist Behind Both Cards
Both promos were illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN, a Tokyo-based artist and art director born in 1983 whose commercial and fine-art work spans installation, digital media, and print. According to the official 30th-anniversary site’s artist page, his practice blends “light and matter, spirituality and empiricism, the ancient and the future” into a coherent visual world, and recent series have explored colour, planetary, and solar themes through a science-fiction visual language.
Within the 30th anniversary lineup, YOSHIROTTEN’s credited work covers: the FUR Mew ex and Mewtwo ex in the M6a expansion, the M6a expansion’s eight Basic Energy cards (one guaranteed per booster pack, now listed in the official card database with no collection number), the FUTURISTIC BOX supplies, and both Pikachu ex promos covered here. TPCi published a short interview with the artist, reported by PokeBeach in August 2026 about how light informed his work on the Futuristic Rares and Basic Energy cards.
Where the FUTURISTIC BOX Is Sold
Per the official 30th CELEBRATION page, the FUTURISTIC BOX is handled only through Pokémon Center Online (ポケモンセンターオンラインのみでのお取り扱い). The same page says Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores nationwide may handle it at a later date.

The M6a Main-Set Pikachu ex Cards
The M6a main set has its own two Pikachu ex cards, 047/103 and 048/103. The official card database shows the RR rarity icon on both, with illustrators 5ban Graphics and takuyoa (047/103, 048/103). They are separate cards from the two box promos, which have no row among the 140 M6a set entries in the official card database (as of October 21, 2026).
The set also carries 30 Pikachu cards numbered 017/103 to 046/103 in the database, each credited to a different illustrator. The official M6a page describes them as 30 foil Pikachu cards drawn by 30 illustrators, and the English product pages say each booster pack contains one Pikachu.

Are the FUTURISTIC BOX Pikachu ex promos a rare pull, or guaranteed?
Guaranteed. Every box contains exactly one of each promo — there’s no pack-opening element or pull-rate gamble involved.
What’s the difference between promo 131/M-P and 132/M-P?
Both are Lightning-type Pikachu ex cards with 190 HP, illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN. Per Japanese hobby-media coverage, 131/M-P uses a bright, whitish, daytime-style background, while 132/M-P uses a cooler, night-inspired visual — the official page doesn’t label them “day” and “night,” but the art matches that description.
Where is the FUTURISTIC BOX sold?
Per the official 30th CELEBRATION page, the FUTURISTIC BOX is handled only through Pokémon Center Online, and Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores nationwide may handle it at a later date. Its MSRP is ¥27,500 (tax included, ~$173), and it released on September 16, 2026.
Can I buy the FUTURISTIC BOX from Samurai Sword Tokyo?
Our main FUTURISTIC BOX listing is sold out at the time of this update — sourcing requests go through Quick Order. The FUTURISTIC BOX Damaged Box is currently listed at ¥59,926 (~$389), and orders ship from Tokyo with tracked delivery.
Who illustrated the FUTURISTIC BOX Pikachu ex promos?
The official page credits graphic artist YOSHIROTTEN, who also illustrated the FUR Mew ex and Mewtwo ex in the M6a booster set and designed the eight M6a Basic Energy cards. The official page describes the box itself as a battle-supply set that incorporates his design.
Are the M6a main-set Pikachu ex cards the same as the box promos?
No. The M6a main set has its own Pikachu ex cards, 047/103 and 048/103, each with the RR rarity icon in the official card database. The two FUTURISTIC BOX promos have no row among the 140 M6a set entries in the official card database (as of October 21, 2026), so they are separate cards from those two main-set prints.
Is the English Ultra-Premium Collection Pikachu ex the same card?
pokemon.com lists the 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collections—Day & Night with a launch of November 6, 2026, each including a foil Pikachu ex promo illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN. The official pages do not identify it as the FUTURISTIC BOX promo, so the two should not be treated as the same card.
What were the SNKRDUNK asking prices for the FUTURISTIC BOX and its promos?
On SNKRDUNK, the lowest asking price on September 16, 2026 was ¥49,500 for a sealed FUTURISTIC BOX and ¥24,900 for each unopened Pikachu ex promo (131/M-P or 132/M-P). These are dated asking prices, not completed sales, set against an MSRP of ¥27,500 for the box.
