Two Umbreon cards are hiding inside the same box. One is a standard-issue playable holofoil.
The 30th CELEBRATION Premium Deck Set — Espeon & Umbreon is a two-deck constructed product, not a booster box, and it’s easy to assume a fixed decklist means fixed value. It doesn’t. Alongside the regular Umbreon ex 017/040 that plays the deck, the official product page confirms a second, full-art printing — Umbreon ex 044/040 — sitting in the same 60-card list. This guide covers exactly what’s confirmed about that card, what the deck contains, and how it sits next to Umbreon cards that are already trading.
The official card list for the 30th Celebration Premium Deck Set (MSRP ¥6,200) was published September 9, 2026, and the set released September 16, 2026: it lists a regular Umbreon ex 017/040 (illustrated by Keisuke Azuma) and a full-art Umbreon ex 044/040 (illustrated by REND) in the same “Blacky ex” deck. Official wording calls the chase print “full-art (フルイラスト)”; JP media label it “SAR仕様” but that is not an official rarity name. For comparison, PSA10 Umbreon 25th 012/025 is sold out at the time of this update — restock requests go through Quick Order. Meanwhile, PSA10 Umbreon ex SAR 217/187 (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) is currently listed at ¥70,350 (~$457).
- The 30th Celebration Premium Deck Set (Espeon & Umbreon) released in Japan on September 16, 2026, the same day as M6a 30th CELEBRATION (released worldwide) and the FUTURISTIC BOX (also Japan-only).
- The full-art Umbreon ex 044/040 now has a release-day lowest ask of ¥13,000 on SNKRDUNK (September 16, 2026).
- PSA10 Umbreon ex SAR 217/187 is now listed at ¥70,350 (~$457); PSA10 Umbreon 25th 012/025 is sold out at the time of this update.
- Our own deck set listing remains ¥29,800 (~$194), a pre-order shipping from Tokyo — see the product page for the current dispatch date.
- Full card list: every card of the set with its official image, in number order — 30th CELEBRATION (M6a) card list (all 173 cards).
Facts and figures below are as verified on the official 30th Celebration site and cited secondary sources as of September 16, 2026, converted at ¥154/USD. The official card list for this deck set was published September 9, 2026, and the set released September 16, 2026; yen figures that are not the official MSRP, our own listed price, or a dated SNKRDUNK ask are historical pre-release predictions, now superseded by real release-day asks.
The Full-Art Umbreon ex (044/040): What’s Confirmed
The official product page for the Premium Deck Set states plainly: “デッキにはフルイラストのエーフィexとブラッキーexのカードも収録” — the deck also includes full-art versions of Espeon ex and Umbreon ex. That is the official rarity wording: full-art (フルイラスト). Japanese secondary-market sites separately call this print “SAR仕様” and Pokebeach’s English coverage refers to it as a Special Illustration Rare, but neither term appears on the official page — treat “SAR” as a media label, not the printed rarity.

As of September 9, 2026, this is no longer a filename-and-database inference: the official card list for the Premium Deck Set (set code MF) is published, and it lists 044/040 as the full-art Umbreon ex directly, with the regular Umbreon ex at 017/040 in the same 44-card numbering run.
The illustrator for the full-art Umbreon ex is now officially credited as REND, and the regular 017/040 print is officially credited to Keisuke Azuma. On the card text: Umbreon ex is a Darkness-type, HP 270, Stage 1 Pokémon evolving from Eevee, with the attack Lunatic Claw — 100+ damage, plus 140 more if the opponent’s Active Pokémon already has damage counters on it. Weakness Grass ×2, no Resistance, Retreat cost 2, and it follows the Pokémon ex rule (opponents take 2 prizes when it’s knocked out). This text comes from Pokebeach’s fan translation of the June 2026 reveal — the official card database entry does not print attack text, only the number and illustrator.
Regular Umbreon ex (017/040) vs the Full-Art Chase Card

Both prints are alternate-art versions of Umbreon ex (identical text not separately confirmed), same Pokémon, different artwork — which is standard practice for a full-art chase variant. One copy of each sits in the “Blacky ex” (Umbreon) deck, so a sealed, unopened deck set contains exactly one 017/040 and one 044/040, alongside the equivalent Espeon ex pair (014/040 regular, 043/040 full-art) in the other deck.
| Number | Official rarity | Illustrator | Copies per deck | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Umbreon ex | 017/040 | Standard holofoil | Keisuke Azuma | 1 |
| Umbreon ex (full-art) | 044/040 | Full-art (フルイラスト) | REND | 1 |
One other full-art-style card sits in the same deck for a similar reason: Zeraora 042/040 (illustrated by HACCAN) turns up once, alongside a regular Zeraora 007/040 (Bun Toujo) in the deck’s Pokémon line — we call these the two extra illustration cards (041/040 Victini, 042/040 Zeraora); SNKRDUNK catalogues them as “AR Style” rather than chase cards on Umbreon ex’s level. Its deck-mate on the Espeon side, Victini 041/040, is illustrated by satoma.

Twenty-one Pokémon cards across 16 kinds, matching the product page’s own composition count for this deck (Pokémon 16 kinds / 21 cards). The page’s own Trainer and Energy totals for this deck are 21 kinds / 23 cards and 3 kinds / 16 cards respectively; the itemized rows above reflect the previously reported per-card quantities, which don’t individually reconcile to those official totals card-for-card — treat the aggregate counts as the official figure and the itemized list as the best available breakdown. The official notes describe the constructed decks as containing “past-series” reprints, which is why several of these names will look familiar to players who’ve kept cards from earlier sets.
Release Date, MSRP and Japan’s Lottery Sales
MSRP is ¥6,200 (tax included); the deck set released in Japan on September 16, 2026. Beyond the two 60-card decks, the box includes two damage counter/marker sheets, two Pokémon coins (Espeon and Umbreon designs), one 30th-anniversary paper playmat, a slide-style tin double-deck case, a beginner’s guide and a player’s guide.
Sales in Japan ran through Pokémon Center Online’s lottery system rather than open retail. Per SNKRDUNK’s lottery roundup (September 9, 2026), a further Pokémon Center Online additional lottery window covering the FUTURISTIC BOX and Card Set ran September 11 through September 16, 2026, closing at 16:59 JST, with results due September 30, 2026. This product was lottery-allocated rather than sold through open retail in Japan; our own listing (below) is a pre-order shipping from Tokyo after release — see the product page for the current dispatch date.
Price Predictions vs. Release-Day Asks
The deck set has now released, and real release-day asks exist alongside the earlier forecasts below. On SNKRDUNK, the lowest listed ask for the sealed Premium Deck Set fell from ¥64,990 on September 1 to ¥30,100 on September 10, and ¥17,800 on release day, September 16, 2026 — about 2.9× the ¥6,200 MSRP. The full-art Umbreon ex 044/040 itself carries a release-day lowest ask of ¥13,000 on SNKRDUNK (September 16, 2026). These are asks, not sales, and none of them predicts where the price settles from here.
- snkrdunk’s editorial team forecast the Umbreon ex full-art at roughly ¥100,000+ market / ¥70,000 buy-back before release (23 June 2026); the lowest release-day ask on SNKRDUNK was ¥13,000 (September 16, 2026).
- eternis.jp’s PRICE BASE blog forecast the Umbreon ex full-art around ¥40,000 before release (13 August 2026), labelled a “pre-release reference forecast” — also superseded by the ¥13,000 release-day ask.
- The sealed deck set itself was estimated by cardchusen at ¥36,000–51,000 before release (24 August 2026); the lowest release-day ask on SNKRDUNK was ¥17,800 (September 16, 2026).
Pre-release forecasts for the full-art Umbreon ex ranged from ¥40,000 to ¥100,000+ — a ¥60,000 gap. The first real release-day ask came in well below both, at ¥13,000. Release-day asks are volatile and may still move; treat them as asks, not settled sales prices.
How It Compares to Umbreon Cards Already on the Market
Now that the full-art Umbreon ex 044/040 has released and real asks exist, here’s how it and the deck set compare to two Umbreon prints already trading.
The Umbreon ex SAR 217/187, a graded PSA10 single now listed at ¥70,350, sits well above the ¥13,000 release-day ask for a raw, unopened full-art 044/040 — roughly what you’d expect for a graded single next to a fresh pull with no grading premium yet. The Umbreon 25th 012/025 promo is sold out at the time of this update.
