What Is the Charizard 001/025 25th Anniversary Promo?
Charizard 001/025 belongs to the Promo Card Pack 25th ANNIVERSARY edition (S8a-P). The set code and number appear together in the PSA 10 back-order listing title. The S8a-P prefix distinguishes the promo card from the similarly named 25th Anniversary Collection expansion, whose Surfing and Flying Pikachu listings use S8a.
The listing name is “Charizard: PROMO[S8a-P 001/025](Promo Card Pack 25th Anniversary Edition)”. PROMO is the listing’s designation for this card. The same product family also contains named listings for Venusaur, Blastoise and _’s Pikachu; each uses a different card number.
The S8a-P Listing Name and Number
The name printed on a listing can include punctuation, a rarity label and a product title as well as the card number. Charizard and Umbreon are labelled PROMO in their S8a-P back-order titles. Cleffa uses P, and the Claydol listing gives the abbreviated number S8a-P 016.
The Charizard back order and its physical PSA 10 listing are separate purchase records for 001/025. The back order is sourced to order. For the graded card itself, PSA 10 designates Gem Mint condition per PSA’s published grading standards.

What to Check Before You Order an S8a-P PSA 10
The S8a-P set is easy to confuse with the main S8a expansion, because both belong to the 25th Anniversary release and their numbers look alike. Three checks keep the two apart.
- The set code. The Charizard listing uses S8a-P 001/025. Surfing Pikachu V and Flying Pikachu V from the 25th Anniversary Collection use S8a 021/028 and S8a 023/028. The suffix in the set code distinguishes the listed product families.
- The number as printed. Listing-title numbers vary in format. Most read like “S8a-P 001/025”, but several print only the number, for example Claydol P 016, Donphan P 019 and Tapu Lele P 025. Match the number, not just the name.
- The listing type. A physical PSA 10 listing is a listing for a slab already sourced; a back order is sourced to order. For Charizard 001/025, Here Comes Team Rocket! 006/025, _’s Pikachu 007/025, Cleffa P 009/025, Claydol P 016, Garchomp C LV.X P 018, Zekrom 021/025 and Tapu Lele P 025 a physical PSA 10 listing also exists, and each of those is sold out at the time of this update — restock requests go through Quick Order. The back order is the open route for all of them.
Sourcing requests for a specific card go through Quick Order. The guide to buying Japanese Pokemon cards from Japan covers the order flow, and the PSA grading explainer shows what the slab label prints.
Charizard vs Blastoise vs Venusaur: The 25th Anniversary Trio
The S8a-P listings identify Charizard at 001/025, Venusaur at 002/025 and Blastoise at 003/025. Each is labelled PROMO and names the Promo Card Pack 25th Anniversary Edition. Their PSA 10 back-order prices refer to separate card listings.
Blastoise 003/025 is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥17,615 (~$114). Venusaur 002/025 is offered as a PSA 10 back order at ¥14,925 (~$97). For each card individually, see our Blastoise 003/025 guide and Venusaur 002/025 guide. Among our listings, the Charizard back order is at a higher figure than either of the other two.
25th Anniversary and 30th Celebration
The Japanese 30th CELEBRATION expansion uses the code M6a and released on September 16, 2026. Pokemon.com gives the English 30th Celebration release the same date. M6a is a separate anniversary product from S8a and the S8a-P Promo Card Pack 25th Anniversary Edition.
| 25th Anniversary | 30th Celebration (2026) | |
|---|---|---|
| Product identity | Charizard PROMO S8a-P 001/025 | 30th CELEBRATION expansion M6a |
