2. Espeon V SA (081/069) — Eevee Heroes Secret Rare
Eevee Heroes (S6a), the 2021 Japanese set that paired with English Evolving Skies, printed Espeon V three separate times: a regular V at 035/069 (RR), a Full Art V at 080/069 (SR), and the Special Full Art at 081/069 (SR) — the card most collectors mean when they say “Espeon V SA.” The English equivalent is Evolving Skies 180/203, which Bulbapedia identifies as the Special Full Art print in that set.
This is the more expensive of the two headline cards on this list, and the market reflects it. 3. Espeon & Deoxys-GX SR SA (177/173) — The Tag Team Chase
Before ex and V, Espeon’s biggest chase card was a Tag Team GX. Espeon & Deoxys-GX appeared in three Japanese prints in SM12a, “Tag All Stars,” released October 4, 2019: a Full Art at 176/173 (SR), a Special Full Art at 177/173 (SR, illustrated by Hasuno), and a Rainbow Rare at 212/173 (HR). Card 177/173 is the print most collectors want — it’s the “SR SA” version, and its artwork was later reprinted in English as SM Black Star Promo SM240 in March 2020. This is the priciest card on the list, and that tracks with its era: 2019 Tag Team GX Special Full Arts are five-plus years old now, the print run is fixed, and Espeon & Deoxys-GX doesn’t get reprinted the way single-Pokemon V and ex cards sometimes do. 4. Espeon VMAX (189/S-P) — The Merchandise Promo
Espeon VMAX, 189/S-P, is a Japanese promotional card distributed through the “Eevee Heroes Eeveelution Set,” a Sword & Shield-era merchandise product tied to the same Eevee Heroes (S6a) expansion that produced the V SA above. The exact release date and distribution mechanics for that merchandise set aren’t fully documented, but the card and its source product are confirmed.
Because it never appeared in a standard booster set, VMAX 189/S-P doesn’t have a regular pull-rate market the way set cards do — pricing runs on promo scarcity instead. 5. Espeon Master Ball Mirror (062/187) — The Budget Pull
Terastal Fest ex (SV8a) also carries a regular, non-ex Espeon at 062/187 — a reprint of the Obsidian Flames artwork (Japanese: “Ruler of the Black Flame,” SV-4L 046/108), originally illustrated by Cona Nitanda and reprinted here by Kariya. 6. Espeon-GX SSR (SV60/SV94) — Shiny Vault Rarity
Espeon-GX first appeared in the base Sun & Moon era — Japanese Collection Sun (SM7a) 024/060, RR; English Sun & Moon 61/149. The card most collectors chase, though, is the later Shiny Vault reprint: SM8b, “GX Ultra Shiny” (released November 2, 2018), which put Espeon-GX in its Shiny Vault subset at card SV60/SV94, rarity “Rare Shiny GX” — the Shiny Vault equivalent of an SSR. The English counterpart set is Hidden Fates, released August 23, 2019, one of the most collected Shiny Vault sets ever printed.

7. Espeon ☆ — The Gold Star Heritage Card
Long before Special Art Rares and Special Full Arts, the “Gold Star” era of the mid-2000s produced its own alt-art tier, denoted with a ☆ symbol after the card name. Espeon ☆ appeared in English POP Series 5 as card 16/17, “Rare Holo ☆,” in the 2005–2006 window, with card text built around the Poké-POWER “Purple Ray.” The Japanese equivalent is a PLAY Promotional card, 025/PLAY.
Bulbapedia’s own naming convention for this card is “Espeon ☆” — “Gold Star” is the collector nickname applied across the whole ☆-suffix rarity tier from the EX era, not a printed rarity name. For collectors building a complete Espeon timeline, this is the card that establishes where the alt-art lineage started, two decades before Terastal Fest ex.
8. Yu Nagaba Espeon (066/SV-P) — The Artist Collaboration
The most recent notable Espeon promo is card 066/SV-P, illustrated by Japanese artist Yu Nagaba as part of the “YU NAGABA × Pokémon Card Game” collaboration campaign. Distribution followed the same pattern as the rest of that collaboration: a random promo included with qualifying retail purchases, plus four random promos bundled with pre-orders of the collaboration’s special box. The exact release date isn’t confirmed in our sourcing, so we’re not stating one here.
