Kentaro Yabuki, the manga artist behind To LOVE-Ru, drew a Nami card for the ONE PIECE Card Game, and the official @ONEPIECE_tcg account posted it on October 5, 2026 as a newly drawn (描き下ろし) illustration for EB-05 ONE PIECE Heroines Edition vol.2, which goes on sale in Japan on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
As of October 6, 2026 the set is not out, and the official card list has no EB-05 rows. That makes the credit line, the dates and the two images the solid part of the story. Treatment names, foil areas and odds are not. Each statement here carries the status of its source: official, reported by a named outlet on a named date, or not printed.
We sell Japanese sealed product and graded singles from Tokyo. We do not list EB-05; the earlier Heroines Edition, EB-03, is a different product.
- Bandai credits him on the official X post as the creator of 『To LOVEる―とらぶる―』 and says the Nami illustration is newly drawn for the card.
- The card is EB05-055, Character, SR with a ★ mark; the card edge prints “Kentaro Yabuki”.
- The card was shown in the October 4, 2026 livestream; the official post followed on October 5, 2026.
- The only post from his side is signed (スタッフ), staff. No personal comment from Yabuki has been found.
- No source verifies earlier ONE PIECE work by him, and no source supports a “first” claim in either direction.
First version, based on the official X post, the official EB-05 pages and the Japanese outlets named in each row.
How Bandai Credits Him
The official @ONEPIECE_tcg post of October 5, 2026 names him; the official EB-05 product page and the official news index do not, as of October 6, 2026.
In English, roughly (our rendering): a card included in Extra Booster ONE PIECE Heroines Edition vol.2 [EB-05], first shown during the #メラメラの実争奪戦 stream, is introduced; it is the Character card “Nami”; the illustration is newly drawn by Kentaro Yabuki, creator of To LOVE-Ru; the physical card was also shown in the stream, so please check the archive.
Three details matter for how the credit is read:
- The work Bandai names. Only 『To LOVEる―とらぶる―』 is named. Dengeki Online (October 5, 2026) adds 『BLACK CAT』; Inside Games (October 5, 2026) adds 『あやかしトライアングル』.
- The word for “newly drawn”. 描き下ろし is the official wording. Bandai does not use the phrase “guest illustrator”; that label is ours.
- What the post leaves out. It does not say パラレル, 通常版 or 箔押しver., gives no odds and does not describe how the card is distributed beyond it being a card included in EB-05.
The official EB-05 product pages, Japanese and English, do not mention Yabuki, foil stamping or comic parallels as of October 6, 2026. They print rarity counts and dates.
The Announcement Timeline: October 4 and October 5
Two dates circulate, and they describe different events. The card was shown in a livestream first; the official post that credits Yabuki came a day later.
| Date (JST) | What happened | Status | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| October 4, 2026 | The card was shown in the finals livestream of the tournament 「メラメラの実争奪戦」; the official post says the physical card was shown there as well. | Official (the post) and reported (Dengeki Online, October 5, 2026, for the stream date) | Official X post; Dengeki Online |
| October 5, 2026, 12:00 | @ONEPIECE_tcg posted the card with two images and the 描き下ろし credit line. | Official | Official X post |
| October 5, 2026, 12:02 | The staff-run account 矢吹健太朗 Info (@yabuki_info) quote-posted the official post. | Primary (staff-run info account) | @yabuki_info |
| October 5, 2026, 15:11 | Dengeki Online published its article on the card (updated 15:20). | Reported | Dengeki Online |
| October 5, 2026, 19:30 | Inside Games published its article, which names the two versions. | Reported | Inside Games |
The safe wording is the one the sources support: the card was revealed during the October 4, 2026 finals livestream and posted by the official account on October 5, 2026. Calling October 5 the first reveal skips the stream.
The staff post
The info account’s post reads, in Japanese: 「【ONE PIECEカードゲーム】 矢吹健太朗描き下ろしのカードが登場します! ぜひチェックしてみてください! (スタッフ)」. Roughly: “[ONE PIECE Card Game] A card newly drawn by Kentaro Yabuki is coming! Please check it out! (Staff)”. The signature marks it as staff writing, on the staff-run info account, not a comment from Yabuki himself. As of October 6, 2026 no personal comment about drawing Nami has been found, and the Bandai post carries none either.
Where the archive is
The official post links the stream archive, a YouTube live titled 【決勝トーナメント生配信】ONE PIECEカードゲーム 『メラメラの実争奪戦』. What was said on stream is known only through Dengeki Online, Inside Games, SNKRDUNK and skypenguin.
What the Card Prints
Card data for EB05-055 lives in the sibling write-up, Nami EB05-055 by Kentaro Yabuki. The details come from the two images attached to the official post, both of which carry a SAMPLE watermark, a mark on the promotional image and not part of the card.
| Printed item | Value on the images |
|---|---|
| Card number and rarity | EB05-055, SR, with a ★ mark on both images |
| Type and name | CHARACTER, ナミ (Nami) |
| Cost and power | 5 and 6000 |
| Attribute and traits | 知 (Wisdom); 東の海/麦わらの一味 (East Blue / Straw Hat Crew) |
| Credit on the card edge | “Kentaro Yabuki” |
The credit appears on the edge of the card in English letters, on both versions. The official post does not say what the ★ means.

The Two Images and the Words Used for Them
The official post attaches two images and calls both simply 「キャラクターカード「ナミ」」. One shows Nami in a white-and-blue top holding banknotes against a purple-pink background with a cat silhouette and hearts. The other keeps the same Nami figure and adds a large close-up of her face behind her, with lace and heart patterns, a heart-shaped cost icon and a decorated name plate.

The labels differ by outlet, and none of them is Bandai’s:
| Outlet and date | Wording | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Inside Games, October 5, 2026 | 通常版 with a cat silhouette in the background; 箔押しver. with a large rendering of Nami’s expression; two types rolled out | Reported |
| skypenguin.net, October 5, 2026 | 通常版 and 箔押しver.; the rarity printed on the card is SR | Reported (a personal news blog) |
| SNKRDUNK, October 4, 2026 | 「『ナミ』矢吹健太朗先生描き下ろしパラレル」 | Reported |
| Dengeki Online, October 5, 2026 | 矢吹健太朗先生描き下ろしのキャラクターカード“ナミ”, with no version names | Reported |
Japanese media describe the two as a regular version (通常版) and a foil-stamped version (箔押しver.). Neither term is in the official post or on the official product page as of October 6, 2026. Both images carry the ★ next to SR, so no statement is made about which version is the base card or which is scarcer.

Guest tribute art for other Shueisha titles
Kanzenshuu reported on January 11, 2023 that Yabuki drew guest tribute art for Dragon Ball, so he has done guest tribute art for other Shueisha titles. No source gives a count or a ranking of such tributes.
Other Guest Illustrators in the Card Game
Bandai’s wording for outside artists is 描き下ろし or 描きおろし plus the artist’s name. Sources name five other outside artists for ONE PIECE Card Game cards; the sibling write-up One Piece Card Game guest illustrators gives each artist a section of their own.
| Artist | Known for | Card and set | Status and date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yoshitaka Amano (天野喜孝) | FINAL FANTASY | Loki and Saint Shamrock, OP-18 (November 2026) | Official: official ONE PIECE staff account and one-piece.com, August 23, 2026 |
| Keisuke Itagaki (板垣恵介) | Baki series | Kaido, OP-17 (August 22, 2026) | Reported: Toy People, August 3, 2026 |

| Kyosuke Usuta (うすた京介) | Pyu to Fuku! Jaguar | Buggy, Weekly Shonen Jump 2024 issue 46 promo | Reported: Comic Natalie, October 7, 2024 |
The Amano cards belong to the next set on the calendar, covered in our OP-18 chase cards write-up. The last two rows are magazine promo cards, not booster-pack cards. Card numbers for the Itagaki, Akutami, Suzuki and Usuta rows are not given.
What Is Not Known
These are the gaps as of October 6, 2026, stated as gaps and nothing more:
- Earlier ONE PIECE work. None is documented: the Oricon, Dengeki Online, Inside Games, SNKRDUNK and skypenguin reports mention no earlier ONE PIECE work, and no cover comic, tribute chapter or pin-up by him in Weekly Shonen Jump, Jump+ or ONE PIECE magazine is documented. No source prints a “first” label for this card either.
- A comment from Yabuki. Only the staff-signed post exists.
- A treatment name. Bandai has not named the two versions; 通常版 and 箔押しver. come from Japanese media.
- Foil areas. No source says which parts of the close-up version are foil-stamped.
- Odds and counts. Bandai has published no pull rate and no per-box or per-carton count for this card.
- An official English card name. Bandai has published none for EB-05.
- A link to the ONE PIECE HEROINES anime or novels. The official EB-05 pages do not mention them, and no officially stated tie was found between the set and that anime or novel series.
The guide to Nami One Piece cards covers her earlier printings.
How the Card Is Obtained
The official post calls EB05-055 a card that Bandai is placing in EB-05 (「…に収録するカード」). The official product page adds that cards are packed at random. No statement calls it a box topper, a promo or a card promised per box. The set itself, from the official Japanese page and the official English page:
| Item | Japanese page | English page |
|---|---|---|
| Release date | Saturday, October 31, 2026 | October 30, 2026 |
| Price | 240 yen per pack, tax included | USD $4.99 per pack |
| Types | 75 + 2, 6 cards per pack | 75 + 2, cards per pack not printed |
| Rarity line | Leader 7, Common 29, Rare 21, Super Rare 9, Secret Rare 1, Special 8, DON!! 2 | Rarity names only, no per-rarity counts |
USD figures convert at ¥154/USD, approximate. Bandai’s event pages list a box at 5,760 yen (tax included) for venue sales, and a prize-draw sentence naming Super Rare, Secret, Special Card, Parallel Card and Super Parallel Card as the classes that earn a commemorative item. That sentence is the official vocabulary for EB-05 card classes. It does not say which class either Yabuki version belongs to, and Bandai has not stated whether the Yabuki versions are among the 8 Special cards.

What to Watch Before Buying for This Card
- The official card list. It has no EB-05 rows as of October 6, 2026. Card numbers, rarities and any treatment names are worth checking there once rows appear.
- The stream words. 通常版 and 箔押しver. are media labels. A listing that quotes them is quoting Japanese media, not Bandai.
- Release day and region. Japan is October 31, 2026; the English page prints October 30, 2026.
- Odds. Bandai publishes none. Any number attached to this card is not from Bandai.
- The set-wide lists. Parallel and comic parallel treatments across the set are in the EB-05 card list write-up and the comic parallel guide.
A famous artist’s name on the card edge does not tell anyone how the card is distributed. The sources give the credit and the images; they give nothing on counts.
The Earlier Heroines Edition Box
EB-05 is the second Heroines Extra Booster. The first, EB-03, went on sale in Japan on October 25, 2025 at 220 yen per pack, with 71 + 4 types, one Leader, two Secret Rares and nine Special cards (SPカード) on its official page, which names no illustrators. The earlier box is a different product with a different credit picture.

Where to Buy Heroines Edition Product from Japan
We ship Japanese sealed product from Tokyo. The EB-03 box is linked in the previous section; its Damaged Box (condition guide) is a separate product at ¥14,657 (~$95). The EB-04 box is a different theme, ¥12,952 (~$84) (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) for the Box option.
The EB-03 card list shows what the earlier Heroines set contains, the One Piece card box collection lists the sealed lineup, and the Nami cards collection is the place for her graded cards. Sourcing requests for EB-05 go through Quick Order.
