Foil-wise, QCSR is nearly identical to the OCG’s earlier “20th Secret Rare” finish, differing mainly in the watermark and the exact name-foil colour. Prismatic Secret Rare: The Rarity QCSR Replaced — Twice
Prismatic Secret Rare and Quarter Century Secret Rare occupy the same “top OCG secret rare” slot at different points in time — they are not two rarities that coexist on the same set. Whichever one is printed on a given release depends purely on which month that set came out in Japan.
Prismatic Secret Rare is a Secret Rare variant where the holographic foil follows a horizontal and vertical parallel pattern, instead of the diagonal pattern used on a standard Secret Rare, and the card name carries multiple speckled holofoil colours rather than one solid colour. In the OCG specifically, Prismatic Secret Rares visually resemble the TCG’s Starlight Rare cards.

In other words: a missing champagne-gold name and 25th-anniversary watermark alone does not establish that a current-era Japanese secret rare has the Prismatic finish. Compare its foil pattern with the Prismatic treatment described above.

Quarter Century Art Collection (QCAC) is the OCG booster built specifically to showcase the Quarter Century Secret Rare finish. It released in Japan on February 22, 2025, with 100 cards across the set, packed 4 cards per pack, 15 packs per box.
Secret Rare and Quarter Century Secret Rare availability in QCAC varies by card. The set also introduced brand-new artwork exclusive to these prints — including a third artwork for Dark Magician Girl, and new artworks of Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Dark Magician that exist only as Quarter Century Secret Rares.

Grand Master Rare: The Tier Added in 2026 (Not a Quarter Century Rarity)
The Grand Master Rare tier debuted in Limit Over Collection: The Heroes, released in Japan on February 28, 2026. Its companion release three weeks later, Limit Over Collection: The Rivals (LOCR), released in Japan on March 20, 2026, carries the same tier: LOCR is packed 4 cards per pack, 15 packs per box, for 80 total cards in the set (38 Ultra Rare, 42 Super Rare). All 80 cards are also available as Prismatic Secret Rare and as Secret Rare — the same Prismatic finish that returned to the OCG’s standard secret-rare slot the year before.
LOCR’s share of that addition is Grand Master Rare: a serial-numbered treatment officially described as “100 cards limited with unique serial numbers,” applied to only 18 of those Ultra Rares. The set also carries an “Extended Art” frame-breaking design, available as both Ultra Rare and Prismatic Secret Rare.
Grand Master Rare is a distinct rarity from a later, unrelated set — it is not a Quarter Century-era rarity, is not related to QCSR, and its serial-numbered treatment shouldn’t be confused with the champagne-gold QCSR foil described above.
