The English number is two higher than the Japanese number in every row. The “/084” denominator on the English side comes from Bulbapedia only: the official English page for Pitch Black gives the card count as “Over 115” and prints no denominator, and Limitless prints none either. The Japanese “/081” is printed on every row of the official database.
The Japanese side is named in the database as メガシャンデラex. Every Japanese print carries the same 350 HP, the same ability and the same attack text, so the three prints differ in rarity and number, and the SAR also in illustrator credit, rather than in game text.
The English Prints: Pitch Black 38, 99 and 115
Pitch Black is an English Mega Evolution Series expansion. The official English page gives its release date as July 17, 2026 and its size as “Over 115” cards. Limitless TCG lists 120 cards for the set: 84 main-set cards numbered 1 to 84, then 11 Art Rare, 18 Ultra Rare, 6 Special Art Rare and 1 Secret Rare. The regulation mark J is Limitless’s value. The official database page does not print a regulation mark, and the mark is not confirmed on the official English page either. Limitless lists each English page’s Japanese counterparts as Abyss Eye #36, #97 and #113, the same three prints the official database holds.
Bulbapedia’s wording for the top print is “Special Illustration Rare”, while Limitless writes “Special Art Rare”. Both are third-party labels for the same 115 slot, so each label stays with its source.
The Japanese Prints in the Official Database
The official database on pokemon-card.com, as printed on October 1, 2026, lists three cards named メガシャンデラex, all from Abyss Eye (M5). Each is a Stage 2 Psychic Pokémon ex with 350 HP.
M5 036/081 — RR
The RR sits inside the printed 081 of the main set. It is the print Limitless pairs with English Pitch Black 38 and the print Bulbapedia calls the Regular card. The database credits it to 5ban Graphics.
M5 097/081 — SR
The SR is numbered above 081, in the block the database counts as 37 cards beyond the main set: 12 AR, 18 SR, 6 SAR and 1 MUR. Bulbapedia calls the English counterpart, Pitch Black 99, a Full Art Ultra Rare. The credit is 5ban Graphics, the same as the RR.
M5 113/081 — SAR
The SAR is the third print and the only one credited to REND. Bulbapedia notes that the Regular and Full Art Ultra Rare prints feature artwork by 5ban Graphics, while the Special Illustration Rare print features artwork by REND. The database and Bulbapedia agree on both credits.
