How the Price Tiers Break Down

Mario Pikachu. The XY-P 294 promo leads the physical-slab ladder. Its ¥4,880,000 SNKRDUNK PSA 10 ask on September 30, 2026 comes from the visible listings for that print.

Charmander and Pikachu. The Charmander eM 004/018 name identifies McDonald’s Original “MinimumPack”. Pikachu 010/032 is listed with the RR mark.

Expansion cards and promos. Iris BW9 082/076 is labelled SR from Megalo Cannon; Mewtwo EX XY8 065/059 is UR from Blue Impact; Gengar EX XY4 033/088 is RR from Phantom Gate. Mega Tokyo Pikachu uses the promo number XY-P 098.

Other Pikachu prints. Cosplay Pikachu XY-P 099, Sakura Afro Pikachu 211/SM-P and Ash’s Pikachu GX 005/026 have distinct numbers and names. Their prices belong to separate listings.

Charizard and EX prints. Charizard EX 030/XY-P is the CoroCoro supplement promo. M Charizard EX XY-20th 011/072 is the starter-pack print; XY2 055/080 RR :1ED is the Wild Blaze print. The set code and number distinguish these listings.

Below ¥100,000. Ranks 26 to 32 run from the Rapid Strike Urshifu VMAX HR through M Gardevoir EX, Mega Lucario ex and M Venusaur EX listings to an Old Back Wartortle promo and a Gardenia SR. The catalog continues far below the ladder, and the price bands are laid out in the Japanese PSA 10 price guide. For slabs under $50, see PSA 10 Pokemon cards under $50 from Japan.

Print Labels Across the Price Ladder

The listing names themselves show what the top of the ladder has in common. The set field of many rows reads “XY-P Promotional cards”, “SM-P Promotional cards” or “S-P Promotional cards”, which marks a promo line rather than a booster expansion such as Megalo Cannon or Blue Impact. Several names go further and tie the card to a named source: a magazine supplement, a McDonald’s pack, a Premium File or a BREAK Special Box.

Older prints add another label. “Old Back” appears in the names of the Celebi, the Giovanni’s Machamp and the Wartortle rows, and :1ED appears on the Flareon EX, Gardevoir EX and M Charizard EX rows. Both are printed in the listing name, so they are part of what you are comparing when two listings share a character.

PSA 10 is the grade attached to each slab listing. The card name, set code and number identify the print; the listing price belongs to that particular offer.

For the wider case for Japanese prints, the Japanese PSA 10 price guide lays out the price bands from the low end up, and the MEGA-era top 20 ranks the current MEGA-era cards by PSA 10 price.

PSA 10 Grades and Certificate Records

PSA 10 designates Gem Mint condition under PSA’s published grading standards. According to PSA’s help center, a card is reviewed for surface condition, the sharpness and integrity of its edges and the centering of the image, and any folds, creases, stains or other damage can also affect the grade.

PSA also states that grades do not average out: if the corners are a 6 and the surface an 8, the final grade will be a 6, because the lowest assessed attribute typically dictates the overall grade. Each submitted card is evaluated by a minimum of two independent PSA graders, and the final grade is at the discretion of those graders.

The certificate number on the label is what ties a slab to PSA’s record. PSA’s help center describes checking it through Cert Verification in the Research section of psacard.com, or by scanning the label or QR code in the PSA app.
