Pokemon.com’s product gallery lists both the Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box and the Pokemon Center Elite Trainer Box with a launch date of February 20, 2026, while the set itself launched on January 30, 2026 with “over 290 cards”. The Japanese set that Bulbapedia pairs with it, MEGA Dream ex (M2a), released on November 28, 2025.
No official page says the two are the same set, so the comparison is product against product, not set against set: what each English box contains, what the Japanese pack contains, and which Japanese cards carry the same Pokemon as the English promos. The practical consequence is simple. Wherever an English card is connected to a Japanese one, the text says that the same Pokemon appears in the Japanese set as a specific card number. It never says the English set reprints the Japanese set.

No English Ascended Heroes booster display is listed on the official pages. That is a statement about those pages, not a claim that none exists, and it is why the Japanese comparison here starts from the ETB rather than a box.
ETB vs Pokemon Center ETB
The two Elite Trainer Boxes share a launch date and a promo Pokemon. The differences are pack count, promo count and where they are sold.

That accessory list is the Mega Evolution-era ETB format: 40 Energy cards, one plastic coin and six dividers. The earlier Scarlet & Violet-era ETB listed 45 Energy and four dividers, so an ETB from the two eras is not interchangeable even before packs are counted.
What a Japanese MEGA Dream ex Pack Contains
MEGA Dream ex (MEGAドリームex, code M2a) is a Japanese high-class pack (ハイクラスパック), the category Japan uses for smaller, higher-rarity companion releases between numbered sets. It released on November 28, 2025. Each pack costs ¥550 and holds 10 cards, and the main set is numbered to 193.
Cards above 193 sit in the secret-rare range. In our own catalogue the printed number exceeding the set total marks a secret-rare tier card: Mega Gardevoir ex MA is 226/193 (PSA 10 back order, ¥4,111 (~$27)), Pikachu ex SAR is 234/193 and Mega Dragonite ex MUR is 250/193. MA is the code for Mega Attack Rare, a rarity specific to the Mega series according to pokecazilla.com’s M2a column.
The English ETB pages do not state cards per pack or a price, so no per-card comparison with the English side can be drawn from official pages.

The N’s Zekrom Promo and Its Japanese Prints
N’s Zekrom is the only card the official ETB pages name. Both boxes carry it, and the Pokemon Center box carries it twice. In the official Japanese card database the same Pokemon appears in MEGA Dream ex as two cards: 129/193 and 210/193 AR.
Note the limits of that match. The database tells us the Japanese cards exist; it does not tell us that the ETB promo is a reprint of either one. The English promo’s card number is not printed on the official product pages, so its artwork is not compared with either Japanese card.
N’s Reshiram, which the reported Sam’s Club product also names, appears in M2a as 128/193, and in Scarlet & Violet’s Battle Partners set as 109/100 AR. The three “reported” rows come from PokeBeach’s June 29, 2026 article on a Sam’s Club product, the Ascended Heroes Focused Fighters Premium Collection. PokeBeach describes it as 14 Ascended Heroes booster packs, a jumbo Mega Hawlucha ex and four reprints of Mega Hawlucha ex, Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex, N’s Reshiram and N’s Zekrom, at $54.98 with a July 21 date. That is a retailer price reported by a media outlet, the product is not in the pokemon.com gallery, and it is not an official MSRP.
Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex has a second Japanese home outside M2a: SV10 Glory of Team Rocket, where it is 039/098 RR. Our listing for that print: PSA 10 back order of the SV10 RR 039/098, ¥10,200 (~$66).
The Tin Promos and the Start Deck 100
The August 28, 2026 Ascended Heroes Tin carries a foil promo of Mega Meganium ex, Mega Emboar ex or Mega Feraligatr ex with four packs. In the official Japanese card database, those three Pokemon all appear in a different product, the Start Deck 100 Battle Collection (MC).

So the tin is a clear case for matching card by card: its promo Pokemon point to a different Japanese product than the ETB’s N’s Zekrom does, and a set-level shortcut would hide that.
