Eevee had eight evolutions eventually. It only had three for the first seven years of the Pokemon TCG’s existence — and Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon still get first billing on almost every Eeveelution chase list for exactly that reason. Every set that revisits the family gives the original trio the same four-tier treatment: a V or ex base print, a Special Art or SAR alternate-art chase card, a 151 “Master Ball” parallel, and (for the lucky ones) a YU NAGABA collaboration promo.
This guide walks through all four tiers for each of the three original Eeveelutions, tells you which numbers to look for, and shows exactly which graded copies we currently hold in Tokyo. We buy and grade Japanese singles ourselves, so the prices below are our live store prices, not estimates.
Across the original trio, the S6a Eevee Heroes “V SA” alternate-art prints and the YU NAGABA collaboration promos are the two tiers collectors fight over hardest. A quick note on names before we start: the modern Scarlet & Violet era gave both the SV2a Pokemon Card 151 set and the SV8a Terastal Fest ex set alternate-art parallels sharing the same card number as a base print, and collectors commonly call these “Master Ball” parallels after the Poke Ball watermark that distinguishes them. We use that shorthand below the way it appears on our own listings, alongside the official set and number for each card.
Vaporeon: V SA, Master Ball Mirror & 151
Vaporeon’s chase run starts with S6a Eevee Heroes, the 2021 subset that gave every Eeveelution its own V card plus two separate Special Art (SR-rarity, “SA”) alternate illustrations layered on top of the set’s base 69-card count. Vaporeon V’s base RR print is 015/069; the two SA prints run 074/069 and 075/069, both SR. The 075/069 print is the one most collectors reach for, and its English counterpart is Evolving Skies 172/203, a Rare Ultra full-art illustrated by 5ban Graphics.
The next tier down comes from SV8a Terastal Fest ex, where base Vaporeon carries the number 030/187. Our own graded copy of this print is a PSA10 Master Ball mirror — the Poke Ball watermark parallel of that same 030/187 print — and it’s currently in stock at ¥13,740 (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order). Vaporeon ex, the Tera-typed evolution card in the same set, sits at RR-rarity number 031/187.
Vaporeon also appears at SV2a Pokemon Card 151, number 134/165, a Rare-rarity print illustrated by kirisAki. Like Jolteon and Flareon in the same set (both covered below), 151 Vaporeon has a Master Ball parallel of the same number, which is the print most 151-set collectors specifically hunt for over the base Rare.
Finally, Vaporeon has its own YU NAGABA line-art promo, numbered 063/SV-P, part of the same 2023 “Eevee’s” collaboration covered in full in our YU NAGABA Pokemon card guide. Jolteon: V SA, ex SAR & 151 Master Ball
Jolteon V follows the same S6a Eevee Heroes pattern: base RR at 030/069, then two SR “SA” alternate arts at 078/069 and 079/069. The 079/069 print is the headline chase card, mirrored in English by Evolving Skies 177/203 Rare Ultra, also illustrated by 5ban Graphics.
Terastal Fest ex is where Jolteon gets more interesting than its two teammates. Base Jolteon runs 051/187 and Jolteon ex runs 052/187 at RR. Beyond those standard prints, we hold a graded PSA10 Jolteon ex SAR at 209/187 (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) in our own inventory — a special-illustration alternate-art print of the Tera ex card, physically in hand and currently listed at ¥16,315 (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order). It’s the single most requested Jolteon card we carry, and it sells the fastest of the three ex-era SARs across the trio.
At SV2a Pokemon Card 151, Jolteon is number 135/165, a Rare-rarity print illustrated by sui. We carry the Master Ball parallel of that same 135/165 print, graded PSA10 and in stock at ¥14,317, which makes Jolteon the easiest of the three original Eeveelutions to complete a full graded set for right now — both its ex SAR and its 151 Master Ball are on our shelves at the same time.
Jolteon’s YU NAGABA promo is numbered 064/SV-P (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order), part of the same May 2023 “Eevee’s” release, distributed one card at random per ¥1,000 spent in-store, capped at ten promos per person. Flareon: V SA, ex SAR & 151 Master Ball
Flareon is where this trio’s numbers peak. In S6a Eevee Heroes, base Flareon V is 011/069 RR, and its two SA prints run 072/069 and 073/069 SR. That 073/069 print — the one pictured above — is our single most expensive graded Eeveelution single: a PSA10 copy is in stock at ¥45,423 (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order), well above every other card in this guide. Its English counterpart is Evolving Skies 169/203 Rare Ultra, illustrated by Souichirou Gunjima.
In Terastal Fest ex, base Flareon is 021/187 and Flareon ex is 022/187 RR. This set is also the only one of the three where all three original Eeveelutions received an ex SAR — Flareon’s is number 202/187 (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order), a special-illustration alternate art of the Tera ex card. We source this print through Quick Order rather than holding it pre-graded.
At SV2a Pokemon Card 151, Flareon is number 136/165, Rare-rarity, illustrated by Ryota Murayama. We carry the Master Ball parallel of that print graded PSA10 and in stock at ¥14,276 (update: currently sold out — restock requests via Quick Order) — effectively the same price as Jolteon’s equivalent, which makes the 151 tier the closest thing to an apples-to-apples comparison across the trio.
Flareon’s YU NAGABA promo, 065/SV-P, is the second-most valuable card in this entire guide. Our graded PSA10 copy is in stock at ¥27,851 — roughly double what Jolteon and Vaporeon’s 151 Master Ball copies run, and a clear signal that Flareon’s line-art illustration is the collab’s most in-demand of the three.

Two patterns stand out. First, the 151 Master Ball tier is the most tightly clustered of the four — Jolteon and Flareon sit within ¥41 of each other — which makes it the fairest entry point if you want a matched three-card run without one Eeveelution dominating the budget. Second, Flareon leads every tier it can be priced in: its V SA is more than triple the ex-era Vaporeon price, and its Nagaba promo nearly doubles Jolteon and Vaporeon’s 151 equivalents. The Budget Entry: VMAX Climax CHR
Not every Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon card needs to be a four-figure chase. S8b VMAX Climax, the 2021 set famous for its rainbow “Character Rare” lineup, gave all three Eeveelutions a standard print plus a CHR alternate-art parallel: Vaporeon at 029/184 and 189/184 CHR, Jolteon at 049/184 and 193/184 CHR, and Flareon at 018/184 and 188/184 CHR.
Collectors sometimes describe VMAX Climax’s rainbow Eeveelution parallels as “CSR” (Character Super Rare) — but the trio’s alternate-art prints in this set are all CHR (Character Rare), one tier below CSR on VMAX Climax’s own rarity ladder. It’s a small distinction that matters if you’re searching by rarity code.
These CHR parallels are the most accessible official alternate-art prints of the original trio — nowhere near the price of a V SA or a Nagaba promo, but still a genuine alternate illustration rather than a standard holo. If you want to start a Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon collection without committing to the top tier first, this is the set to search.
Collector Strategy: Building the Trio
