Lugia Cards

This page gathers Japanese Lugia Pokemon cards, most of them PSA 10 graded singles sold in their PSA slabs. It runs from Old Back Lugia No.249 and the Crystal type Lugia from Wind from the Sea (e3) to Lugia V and VSTAR from Paradigm Trigger (s12) and a range of Japanese promos. Orders ship from Tokyo by FedEx with tracking. For Lugia cards ordered by market price, see our live Lugia price ranking.

Which Lugia cards you'll find here

Lugia listings here start in the Old Back era, with Lugia No.249 as the GB2 promo (neo-P) and as the print from Pokemon Card neo Premium File 3. Old Back is the collector name for the original card back design used on early Japanese cards. Other older cards include the Crystal type Lugia from Wind from the Sea (e3) with the 1st Edition mark and an L-P promo. From the BW and XY eras come Lugia EX SR from Plasma Gale (BW7) and Lugia EX RR from Bandit Ring (XY7), both marked 1st Edition.

Sun & Moon era listings include Shining Lugia from Shining Legends (SM3+) and Lugia GX in RR, SR and HR from Super-Burst Impact (SM8). The Sword & Shield era is represented by Paradigm Trigger (s12), with Lugia V in RR, SR and SR: SA and Lugia VSTAR in HR and UR, along with S-P promos of Lugia V and Lugia VSTAR. There is also the Lugia ex from Pokemon Card Game Classic (CLF 017/032).

Both high-end and entry-level cards appear here. The e3 Crystal type Lugia, the Plasma Gale Lugia EX SR and the GB2 Old Back promo sit at the high end, while the Classic Lugia ex and the Lugia V RR and SR from Paradigm Trigger are entry-level PSA 10 slabs. Prices are shown on each product page. The 30th CELEBRATION set (M6a) reprints Crystal Lugia as 142/103, and one of the guides below compares it with the original e3 card.

How to read a listing

Each title follows the same pattern: PSA10, the card name, the rarity, the set code and card number in brackets, then the Japanese set name, translated, in parentheses, as in PSA10 Lugia V SR: SA [s12 110/098] (Expansion Pack "Paradigm Trigger"). Rarity codes in this collection include RR (Double Rare), SR (Super Rare), SA (Special Art), HR (Hyper Rare), UR (Ultra Rare) and P or PROMO (Promo), and 1ED marks a 1st Edition print. Old Back and Crystal type are written out in the title, and Old Back titles show a number such as No.249 in place of a set number. For what each set code stands for, see our Japanese TCG set codes page. PSA 10 is the Gem Mint grade on PSA's 10-point scale, and the label on each slab shows a PSA certification number. Sold-out cards stay visible at the end of the grid.

FAQ

Are Japanese Lugia cards different from the English versions?

They are printed in Japanese and numbered within Japanese sets, such as s12 for Paradigm Trigger or e3 for Wind from the Sea. An English set often includes cards from more than one Japanese set, so the same Lugia artwork can carry a different set code and card number in English. The Old Back No.249 cards use the original Japanese card back. PSA grades Japanese and English cards on the same 10-point scale.

What do Old Back and Crystal type mean on a Lugia listing?

Old Back is the collector name for the original card back design used on early Japanese cards; here it appears on Lugia No.249, both the GB2 promo (neo-P) and the Premium File 3 print. Crystal type is a card type found in Japanese e-series sets such as Wind from the Sea, and the Lugia from that set (e3 090/087) is one. Both labels are written out in the listing title.

Do you sell ungraded Lugia cards?

Most Lugia listings on this page are PSA 10 graded cards. Ungraded single cards are sold only when they are listed in our store, for example promo cards sold as "Card only", and an ungraded listing's title does not start with PSA10. Sealed Japanese booster boxes are in our Pokemon card box collection.

How is a PSA 10 Lugia card shipped?

The card ships in its PSA slab from Tokyo by FedEx, and every shipment has a tracking number. Delivery time depends on the destination and customs clearance, so we do not promise a delivery date. Import duties and taxes are set by the destination country; see our customs duties and import taxes page for who pays them in your country.
